gotta put in a word for the sniper rifle and rocket launcher from HALO 
also the pistol in HALO 1 was total pwnage. but then halo devs beat it up with a nerfbat in HALO 2

Ah yes. Thats the one where I have an involuntary spasm down my right side, accidentally click the mouse button with the rifle pointed at my balls and somehow manage to blow someones head off.
I still think in terms of Aesthetics, the Gluon Gun from HL 1 is just the best, sound effects included. I'm not selling them or anything, I just think it's like holding a big pair of ******* in your palms..... I know this, I do it in the shower every morning.

They didn't go crazy enough with the selections, they obviously fell for the "ok, we need 5 of the mainstream choices, and 5 random ones from games that differs from these primary choices, oh and make it 50/50 console vs PC games!" trap. The Contra gun incited no particular emotions with me that justifies a place on a top 10 list, and that Perfect Dark weapon looks like a bag of boredom to me. If they're gonna nominate the Turok gun, why not that crazy weapon from Soldier of Fortune that made people's blood boil until they exploded? It was just as messy and pointless.
No, the only bold move they made with this list was to use 2 weapons from the Doom series. Oh no! Political incorrectness! We're hardcore!
On a similar note, I've figured out the trinity that is political correctness: One white female, One black male, and one nerdy white guy. The white female should preferably be blonde AND smart, the black guy better be strong and strong-willed. The nerdy guy must be a hero in the end. If the black guy is a villain, at least he must know electronics and computers really well.

Mini-chaingun: Various FPS, who hasnt wanted to relive some predator.
Smartbombs: Ascendancy, these badboys would seek out hostile ships and hit every enemy in the solar system one by one.
