1. Yes, Eve is my "girlfriend" 2. Would have to be the first choice. 3. A few, Kali is looming around the corner 4. Eve has changed A LOT and to be honest, after all changes settles in - it's all been for the better. 5. There are a few things, but they are all based out of pure nostalgy and not for the good of the game.

1: No i dont, since EVE is less combat, more blob. 2: Follower, they give me guns, shoot ppl. 3: Yes, Manhunt on Tuxford untill he makes Blasterthrons a viable option in combat again. 4: From bad to worse. You cant have a decent fight anymore without lagg. 5: Much less blobbing, more smallscale combat.
Having Tuxford fixing the blasters is like having a blind man teaching you how to drive - just wont work.

Wow I just read lots of threads from the beginning of this forum around 03 and things seemed to be quite exciting back then! My question is to veterans or people that were playing when the game literally started.
1. Do you still play as much now as back then? 2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween? 3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE? 4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days? 5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could?
Yes, but very soon RL will interrupt my play time. mainly a follower some, still lots Ive never done I think overall its really come a long way and I like it I liked the old EW system better, I also miss fleet battles when 60km way considered Long rane. They would last aallot longer.

1.) I play more when I am not angry or bored. 2.) I am a vagabond,I really hate fighting other peoples wars and am to lazy to pursue my own goals,so I roam chattin it up. 3.)eh....kick ass and not suck at eve 4.) Carebears have a point and thats sad. 5.) Splash damage,I would use missles more if they came with splash damage and give me back mines those were sweet.

1. Do you still play as much now as back then? - nope not nearly as much real life is always first, and a dog+wife+studies means less time for eve 2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween? - i have been a leader, then a peon, today im a helping hand inside the alliance and corp 3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE? - yes i still have some, altho not that many anymore 4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days? - inflation for one, evolution has led to a more balanced gameplay 5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could? - the exploration and new feel of not having done it all to boredom

-Hard to tell tbh since in the begining i was learning the ropes and trying to make a living in the harsh world of EVE , and now after almost 2 years of playing eve and due to RL job change i might be playing a bit less though.
-I hate leadership sicne i tired it b4 and i was backstabbed and had to listen to whines all day long now the leadership i do is as an FC which is fun coz ocne the fight is done so does my role and i am happy with that.
-My views and plans have changed through all this time now i htink i have more greater challenges ahead that i plan to fullfill if i am still here.
-Well there are loads of changes that would take pages to write down , most noably that now new ppl have better chance to evolve and grow in assets and skills much faster than before exodus days where mining was ur most likely option. Also the amount of smack talkers and morons and so called alliance muppets have increased 1000 times due to that fact that every one and their grandma aare making an allaince every sec
-Lesser alliances and less morons who play this game and more of the respectable folk who used to play this game back in the early days. *sighs* "What ever that doesn't Kill me just makes me stronger"

1. No. Just because when i started to play, i played like 12 hours \ day. I`m playing little less now =). 2. Leader. 3. Yes, otherwise i`d quit. 4. Evolved alot. Some changes i liked, some - not. 5. 2mwd ravens. Cancel last implemented stacking penalty (no sense to fit more than 3 dmg mods). Was activated June 2003.
1. The same. 2. Somewhere inbetween. 3. Plenty more where they came from. 4. Less than others think. People whine on eve-o forums as much as they did in the past. All the extra stuff in game hasn't made it more interesting to me. Probably because of the expectations that were seeded from the start. I'm still waiting for my inship recycler for my iteron. 5. The old scanner and no probes please. Back then it took some effort and skill to find stuff. Also the less lag days. When opening assests, market, people/places, map and overview didn't cause my ship to warp away from a gate because of the extra lag after jump in. When you didn't need excessive market skills to do what i can only do now with millions of skill points in trade. But most of all they should restore JK-FIX(region) and all regions below to it's original state disconnected from all other 0.0 regions. Raindrop

Lots of old faces on this thread..
1) I still play a few hours almost everynight, 3 years almost stupid additive game, heh but I made a lot of friends in game now friends whom I'll prolly never meet in the RW but still friends 2)I still do more or less what I want in game, I been in as many wars/battles as the rest of ya and had a lot of laughs.
3) theres always something new to do in EvE
4)the game has a lot more players now than when I first started and every new patch seems to bring new challenges so lots more targets,,erm I mean fun
5)the game seems fine the way it is now.

1. Do you still play as much now as back then? Yes, maybe more.
2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween? Inbetween
3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE? To create a functioning version of the INO but I've kinda given up.
4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days? It has improved. The game now resembles what the devs had in mind by 2001/2.1.
5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could? Can't really think of anything that has gone to worse, in my view...

1. I go through stints of large amounts of play and very little amounts. 2. Probably somewhere inbetween. 3. Money. 4. Less people was more fun. 5. I wish i didn't know some aspects of the game so well. It was more fun when there was a sense of mystery about certain things.
There, i just contributed nothing to your thread |

1. Do you still play as much now as back then? Yes, tho currently summer/exams holding me back
2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween? follower
3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE? Ofcourse
4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days? For me it has lost some of the 'magic' that it had earlier, tho the game as a whole has improved alot.
5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could? The ability to put money as an item in your cargo, they should put a max-cap on your wallet, the rest you would have to carry/haul around. Theres too many rich people in this game ;)

1. No, but I'm trying to play more (XP x64 is NOT EVE friendly) 2. I'm a follower but I have retained the vast majority of the out-of-game responsibilities I had when I was more active. 3. Not really, other than to make it fun again. Like anything else too much of EVE turns it into a bad thing. 4. Just about anyone with half a brain can be a "player" nowadays, it used to require real organizational skills just to get on the map. 5. The requirement that in order to organize yourself into a large, cohescive unit you had to depend on out-of-game resources. I think that really gave alliances the ability to differentiate themselves by having talented members, not just members with guns.
Nice thread btw. :) .: DEAD AND LOVING IT :.

1. Do you still play as much now as back then? Yes, possibly more, although the play is less mentally tiring now than it was back then due to a change in play philosophy.
2. 2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween? A definite follower, it's so much easier. I've burnt myself out with the leader thing before, and ended up hating EVE and leaving for two years. don't want that happening again.
3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE? Plenty, otherwise my account would be cancelled.
4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days? EVE is a much richer game, but it if ever had a solo aspect it has now lost that, which is unfortunate. It seems to achieve anything of merit you now have to be part of a large corp or alliance.
5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could? It wouldn't be possible to bring the good stuff from the early days back without breaking the good stuff now.

1. No, I started when I was a university student, now I have a fulltime job. 2. I don't like leading. I lack the ability to multitask, so killing, and remebering to talk, don't go so well together. I will step up in a pinch though. 3. Some days, yes; other days, no. I wake up some mornings, and wonder why I play, other mornings I wake up and play for a full day and love the game more than ever. 4. EVE has become more catered for the masses. Before it was a game, and the player bent to it. Now people whine, and whine, and bend the game to their way. This is bad. 5. I would bring back the ability for the little guy, or a small gang to do meaningful damage. People are so rich now, losing a ship means relatively nothing. So wheres the incentive to fight?

1. Do you still play as much now as back then? - No where near as much, partly due to being much busier in rl and partly just becuase I get jaded alot easier if I play too much.
2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween? - I've been a FC, corp CEO and so on and it's not for me. These days I'm a grunt and alot happier for it.
3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE? - Basically keep pushing to be the #1 crusader pilot and general tackler in EvE. May not ever get there but it's what I enjoy aiming for.
4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days? - The pace has picked up I think in all areas partly due to there being better ships and mods as well as the industry has really developed (a bs used to take months to replace, now it can be done in a few hours).
5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could? - Can't really think of anything off the top of my head.

1. Do you still play as much now as back then? New job less time for fun but i try to get some playtime every day.
2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween? Follower i guess or some kind of pet.
3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE? Never realy had any big plans to talk about i log on and have fun doing whatever the rest is doing.
4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days? Oh a lot have changed, the game is less inocent now than it was, politics are a lot more important now than before. And the work the devs have done to get people into 0.0 is great i remember before npc bs exsisted, siting at a point of interest farming 60k cruisers oh and ever tryed flying a Megathron with 4 mwd active? ^^
5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could? I kinda like the changes the devs have made in the game but i guess the drone changes was a bit crap, i miss my droneswarm!

2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween? I'm a CEO.
3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE? Yes. Eve is about relationships & shared achievement. There's always things to accomplish - even if it's not strictly your own goal, if you see what I mean.
4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days? It has become far more strategic & long-term. If you can't do logistics, then you're obsolete in 0.0
5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could? Jade's posting privileges & missile splash damage.

1: nope 2: inbetween 3: yeh kill more stuff.. 4: Money has more of an effect than skill does for pvp now. In the old days it was every1 had the same basic mods, and the ones you used and how u used them to your advantage. 5: Get rid of faction mods, them alone created the mass of NPCers and Agent *****s and lowered the % of people pvping. -------------------------------

1. Yes I do. At least in terms of logging on
2. I've been CEO of Eve Defence Force for almost 3 years. I was CEO of Planetary Intelligence Division before that and Director before CEO so yeah.
3. Yup. One of my ambitions is to one day log on and not get spammed with convos - hint hint
4. In some ways, it's gotten a hell of a lot worse. In others, it's gotten a hell of a lot better. Ship balancing was horrible in the first year with it lurching from one extreme to the other. On the other hand, Customer Service has definately gotten steadily worse over the last 3 years.
5. None. In terms of gameplay, I think Eve's getting better.

1. Do you still play as much now as back then? No, not nearly as much.
2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween? Have tried both. Today I'm comfortable as a follower simply because I don't have the ambition nor time to lead.
3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE? Some, but most of them I've achieved tbh. Looking forward to new content and features to bring new goals into the game but it looks like serious change to the game is going to be a while.
4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days? Space is overcrowded today and there's much more dirty tricks that people play and exploit today than back then. Exploiters have learnt where the line is drawn and so become very effective in using game mechanics to their favor. In turn making the game less fun for the rest of us.
5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could? The vastness of space, long travel distances and isolation of 0.0 space. --- <S>

I came in April '04.
1. Do you still play as much now as back then? Yes.
2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween? Leader.
3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE? Yes I do. The continual addition of content by CCP has created a realm where new goals are easy to find and the methods of attaining and holding old goals changes.
4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days?
- Many more players
- More developed infrastructure for industrialists and empire builders
- More refined and balanced pvp with more options and permutations
5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could? Bring back the shakes! Damn I used to freak out when fighting. But thats me, not eve . . . uh . . . I can honestly say that there is no element of game play that I sit around and pine for. The things I miss most are just the wonder of being a big newbie.
