Thinking of getting into exploration. Im thinking it may be better to go in low populated area's to avoid competition and low sec ganks. What systems / regions would you suggest ? |

Check the map (and dotlan) for activity. I foresee that some replies below this one will be attempts of traps mixed with good suggestions.

I want to find the lowest populated systems and post them on a public forum, cause that will make them stay quiet! "PvE in EVE is a trap to turn you into PvP content, don't confuse it for actual gameplay." Lipbite |

My theory would be areas in between popular regions, those systems people never see as they make their way to Amarr or Jita. |

Here's the direct link to the Dotlan page which might help you: http://evemaps.dotlan.net/stats/2014 Scroll down to "top ten least traveled systems." Do some research on those systems, look at stats from other years (2013) and quickly you will find patterns and be able to find similar systems on your own. For instance, one of the best high sec areas to do exploration are the "islands," i.e., high sec pockets surrounded by low sec. Sites tend to pile up in these systems. Solitude is of course the biggest, but there are many others.
One of the best parts of exploration, though, is finding your own areas that fit your play style, so your best bet is to get in space and try out different locations. |

Uhm dotlan is VERRY easy in use.Check the regions for number of jumps , number of npc destroyed and number of pvp. It's the best tool to look for a quiet home base or for a great pvp area .

Low sec. In general when I want to be left alone I hit 0.2 or 0.3 systems well away from pipes or systems with stations. You can literally go days without seeing anyone else.
High sec. Anywhere outside of six jumps of a market hub.

Without doing any research, I'd guess Aridia high sec 'island' has to be pretty quiet. At least it was back when I used to live there.

There is a place near Amarr called Fensi, almost always abandoned. Most of the Genesis region is totally dead with a small gang roaming through every other week or so. If you're looking for a thinly populated area, go there. Not enough fights there for my taste. "CCP Dolan is full of ****." - CCP Bettik |

There is a nice quiet pocket about 8 jumps from Amarr out through Ealur or something like that. Its out of FW space and fairly quiet and empty a couple jumps past highsec.
