Hey,
after playing EVE with a trial account for a couple of days I decided to subscribe. However, I can't do that - when I try validating my credit card info I get the following message:
ERROR: Your credit card could not be validated. Card Not Authorized [0069]

I'm absolutely certain the credit card (MasterCard) info is correct and everything should be OK... I also use this card for other things and I've never had any problems before.
I searched the forums for this issue and found some questions regarding the same issue, but most of them in languages I don't understand So I was unable to find any solutions. Any ideas?
Cheers,
Switt

you likely do not have enough funds.
By saying it's not authorised means that the numebr is right, the date is right (otherwise it will say invalid card number or invalid expirey date).
To be not authorised means CCP made the connection to the card company (so all the info is right) but the card company declined the transaction. Either through lack of funds available in the account or late payment, or it's been reported as fraud / suspicious activity.
Contacting CCP wont help you at all. Phone your card issuer and ask them the reason it was declined, they'll have the answer

Thanks for help, everyone.
I'm still not able to subscribe, though, damnit.
Not blocking cookies from the site... More than enough cash on the card... Able to use the card normally for other crap... Created a petition more than 32 hours ago, but nobody answered it yet... Bleh...
I wouldn't curse, whine, grumble & complain so much, it's just that I've just bought my first indy ship, which I can't use on the trial account... grrrr lol

You can also try buying an EVE time card, it's what i had to do. The services are available online and I received my time code by email within 10 minutes. And I used the same CC that it was saying was not authorized.

i get the 0069 error when i lack founds, keep in mind this games charge you when sign but not take money until end month, so even if your card shown enough money, it can be already charged from such other things, i suggest you add the basic money fee for game and try back if not work, then speak with your bank about allow acces for this company transactions -------------------Sig----------------------- The True Pirate secret |

I had the exact same problem and was forced to use a different card.
They still took the money off my account though, once for every single failed attempt, and I had to get my bank to reverse it. I reported this matter and was told by CCP that it was my bank's fault (LOL).
Funny how I am currently paying with a card from teh same damn bank. _____

Heh.
CCP doesn't want to admit that there is something wrong with their billing software.
Its like when they tell you there is no lag in EVE. _____

I get the same error now and then, usually it ocurrs when there is a problem with the CC transaction getting through (it may be down for repairs etc.), and you just have to wait a few hours. It's bloody annoying. ----------------------

I had a similar error the other day... Turns out I never updated my adress when I moved.
Check that your adress = card's billing adress.

Edited by: Jackoneill on 02/07/2006 18:08:09 hes right if your info doesn't match the info the card company has it won't go through in many cases. Make sure the name listed on the card as it appears is typed in.... your address is correct i.e. the one the CC company has etc etc etc if any of it is wrong i find depending on the company sometimes it won't go through if its even slightly wrong. I had a similar problem when i started playing ENB and it was simply cause i didn't include my middle initial and a letter was missing off the end of my street address. Minor i know but hey its for our own security so.....

If you have a "mastercard debit card" you should check and see if your banking institution allows international transactions. ----------------------------- EVE Addict |

I have a similar problem. I haven't received the card yet from the bank but the number was online at my bank so I could see it before it arrived at the office nearby. The only problem was that I didn't have the CVN yet, so I filled in any number thinking it would get rejected and that I would try [becuz of my EVE addiction] 999 times untill I got it right. To my surprise, it immediately accepted and I was able to play untill today, now giving me the error. So I guess it's my fault I can't play now, that's ok becuz tomorrow I'll have my card and the CVN, but I was wondering if it will still give a problem now when my CVN number is entered correctly, because the CC number is now in the 'Not Valid' database of CCP?

A friend of mine has the same "Error [0069]" problem, but she can't write on the forums herself because she can't login since her account is suspended (o.O?) She has been paying with Visa Electron card for the last 6 months, no problems. When she got that message and read that it may be caused by bank problems she went there and was told in the bank that everything with her card is fine and she should be able to pay in internet without any problems. However there is a problem and so far only one standart reply from GM on her petition for the last 24 hours asking for standart info she already gave in it. Quite annoying as she was supposed to login ot January 2nd and there are already 2 days delay/lost and not even a word if it can be fixed at all. |

I had the same Issue that you were having. I tried with Halifax and nationwide Visas and debit cards. On all attempts received errors.
Contacted the banks, No issue with any of the four accounts.
I just bought a gametime card and paid that way, simple enough hassle free.

I had the same problem myself when I signed up. It turned out that the transaction was denied because my bank by default disallows international transactions (I live in the US, Eve charges your card from Iceland). I had to call my bank and tell them that the transaction was legitimate, then they let it go through.

You could check with your bank if your card allows international/internet payments... if you have some kind of logins to a bank website to manage your bank stuff, it could easily be found there aswell. I have a Visa electron and a ordinary Visa. I use the electron _as_ a visa for online payments :_)

Try another card if you have one or else contact the Support people, they should be able to help you out. Also you try buying a Gametime card from one of the supported Time Code Retailers. They may accept your Mastercard. The list can be found here. Hope that help

Edited by: Graduran Anguirill on 05/01/2007 14:34:17 typed the formatting on the CCnr as xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx ?
I use mastercard too and I typed it as usual, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and i also tried xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx and then i got that errorcode. I contacted the support and didnt get any help and finally I stumbled upon the solution since some guy in corpchat mentioned it.
Lesson to CCP btw, on the billingsite, type in the format that need to be used, as xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx . Very very few (actually none ive encountered in a couple years) use that particular formatting on the CCdetails. ~~o~~ Shike from DAoC ~~o~~ |

No matter if you dial it xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx or xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx - the site automatically transform that into xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx...
I have already payed with that Visa Electron card in this website and had no problems. Suddenly I get that error. I have money, bank says there isn't problem with the card and I'm in country that is not listed in Paypal so any kind of buying time-code through i-net is bloody expensive.. I just don't understand what changed since the end of November (that's the last time I subscribed) so my card worked then and is erroneous now.. :( My pie |

absolutely wrong in my case.
Ive tried all other formattings and it just doesnt work with my mastercard unless I type xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx .
Btw, a funny anecdote regarding just this problem :) From my own MSN this very evening.
XXXXXXXXXXXX sSger: ffs, validations problems, hate that Alexander sSger: valid what? CC? Alexander sSger: the format on the CCnr need to be typed as xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx XXXXXXXXXXXX sSger: with space between or a - ? Alexander sSger: a - Alexander sSger: totally illogical Alexander sSger: on most sites there is either a blank or nothing XXXXXXXXXXXX sSger: why o why cant they just make that automatic or something? Alexander sSger: ^^ XXXXXXXXXXXX sSger: well it went thru, if it wasnt for u i'll be cursing and smashing stuff atm
Basically, I convinced a friend to come and give the game a go and well.. the paymentpart isnt really so easy as it really should be, the paymentprocess should be IDIOTproof, so you just cant make it wrong nomatter wtf you do, imo. Im a quite used payer on the net, i order DVDs and CDs and whatnot all the time and everywhere ive paid, Ive used the format xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx or xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx when ive made the payment. The problem on CCPs paymentsite with the formatting simply just never ever even got into my mind at all, and not even into the CCPsupports mind either for that matter. That tells me that something should be changed as fast as possible, simplify it and make it harder to make anything wrong. Or at least type in (Type the CCnr like this : xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx) as info where you need to type in the number. Simple but saves some ppl some headache and frustration. ~~o~~ Shike from DAoC ~~o~~ |

I had exactly the same problem, with 2 different cards, both of which had ample funds and worked in all other circumstances.
Eventually went and bought a time-code from evetimecode.com with the same card. Cheaper than subscribing, what with the exchange rate...
I rather think I'll continue to do that in the future...
