Has anyone had any experience running Eve on the new Mac's using bootcamp? I'm curious as to how the game performs if at all.

Have no problems running on latest bootcamp.. nice performance also, current running at 1600x1200 with 2x AA and it never drops below 100fps witch is dam god it performs better than my other comp who has 7900GTX card and 2 gigs of ram.. strange that program is not optimised for mac`s runs that great :) Thumbs up!

What about the ones that don't have the ati radeon mobility cards? Such as the MacBook instead of the MacBook pro.
I'm wondering if I shouldn't just sell my machine and get one of the really nice macbook pros with the ati mobility cards.
You guys think it would be worth it to sell my desktop and get the 17 inch macbook pro?

It doesn't perform better because the computers are Apples. It performs better because the people who can afford to spend 1000 dollars extra for the Apple brand name can also afford to spend 3000 dollars extra for a computer that can blow yours out of the water and shred it in every benchmark known to man

meh...I might note that technically on a bootcamp setup...when you boot into winXP, you essentially have a PC. The hardware is nearly identical, now that apple has switched to intel cores.

I'm still running on an XP 3200+ with an Nvidia 6800 vid card. No issues here.

I just started playing eve on my MacBook Pro running Windows XP. One thing I've noticed is a strange color issue on space background. The only place I see this is when in space, there are very obvious lines where the background colors change into different shades, but only where its the dark part of space and there's usually a green hue in front. Space clouds, and other well lit portions don't exhibit this. It looks like, it that part of space, that I have 16 bit or even 8 bit color. But I checked both XP setting and the game settings. Really weird since this is the only place I've experienced color issues, so far, on my Mac and XP.
Any ideas??

You are probably seeing color bands because the default gamma on Mac displays is a bit brighter than on PCs, so quantization artifacts are a bit more visible in dark areas. In other words, those same artifacts would be present on a PC too, but the display just makes them darker so you can't see them as easily.

You aren't running the game using bootcamp. You are running the game using XP. Bootcamp simply allows your X86 Mac to boot into XP. Thus, there should not be any difference at all.
