Hey everyone,
The other day a buddy of mine needed a 10 mil loan and I happily helped him out, since it was 4 in the morning where I lived, I misscounted the 0's and it turned out to be 100mil. Him being a buddy of mine he quickly returned the 90 mil back to me and we went on with our lives, but that got me thinking. . . .
If you ransomed someone for 60mil and in the heat and tension of the moment he transferred 600mil instead of the 60 that was requested what would you do? :P
Thanks peeps, -CC

Well if he was one of those polite people who take it like a sport, i'd return the excess amount, if he was someone who annoyed me whined etc etc, i'd keep it and laugh, then i'd probably give him 60 mill and pod him.
I'm not sure, first i'd circle his helpless pod/ship and laugh at him while pondering what to do, unless ofcourse as I said, he was a decent bloke.

I have given back ransom to pilots before that got murdered by one of my group members before after my group and I ransomed him. I used the word murder intentionally
But 600mill is alot of money. I would look at it take a screen shot and send back the rest of the money minus the ransom fee.......I play this game for fun, which is why I would take the screen shot and laugh at it later when I get poor and call myself stupid hahah....

Yes, I would do that too. But when it's the pilot's own fault I see things differently, it's not like I'd be going back on my ransom. ---------------------------

I'd give it back be it 500k or 540m, this actually happen to me the other day... abiet on a smaller scale. I ransomed some guy's caracal we settle on 2m (he's new) gives me 2.5m so I sent the extra back. It's really a matter of honor =D

Depending on what the guy was like if he was mouthing off and smacktalking like no end id just say thanks for paying the ransom and move on, maybe make him boil for a few days then give back half if he was nice or sent a nice mail asking kindly for it back. if it was a polite person with a nice attitude and respected my ransom i'd gladly give back the 540mil and tel him to watch his typing.

For this game ransoming has got to be as stupid a concept as the bounty system.
I was podded a few weeks ago out in the catch and the fool that got me actually asked for a 100 mill ransom.
Pirates can't do simple math? My clone only costs 4 mill. My reply was an insult. I insulted him because he insulted me.

Similar situation a while back when me and tekka were out hunting. Ransomed a guy for 25mil and he sent it twice. I returned him the difference, however with 600mil I'm not sure what I would do.

Pirates ask for ransoms now ?
My last trip in lowsec was 10 months ago, I was scrambled, destroyed and podded without a word, on three different occasions, and by three different "pirates" ...

Another way to look at this question is, are you being a pirate to have fun, or are you being a pirate to grief?
The first keeps the game fun for everyone (whether the victim realizes this is another matter), the second just encourages borderline players to leave and bad mouth the game.

Did I send it back? Heck no. That's a lot of isk to part with for a poor pirate. I did write him an adoring letter and tell him that I would bother him no longer. I also mentioned that he really has a great way of settling old scores!
