H: 7 MP M: 3 Sensor Booster L: 1 AR, 3 Energ. Adap. Nano, 4 HS
Drones: 5 Berserkers.....
Sigh...the geddon used to be sooo good close range too, but now it's this.

Well, you've got 2 basic choices.
Megabeams and little or no tank, with damage mods.
Or Dual Heavy beams and lots of tank, and not so many damage mods... or lots of tank but not lots of resistances.
It only has 3 slots, and I feel I need an ECCM as an Amarr, and I like having at least 1 sensor booster and a heavy electrochemical cap booster.
But I've not really struggled to come up with fits for it.
Here's some tips, stick to these and you should get a good fit.
Mega pulses give you more damage, and more range, but they're harder to fit. Dual heavy beams are NOT as significant a damage drop as you may expect, and allow for a LOT more powergrid elsewhere.
Don't fit a reactor control unit at the expense of a heat sink. You'll actually lower your damage output.
3 heat sinks is ideal, 2 is nearly ideal. 4 is a waste of a slot. 1 or none and you have way less damage than you really should.
A damage control doubles up as an adaptive nanomembrane, and a plate. Not as good as either, but better than 1/2 of each.
Pulses have nice tracking, but without a sensor booster you'll struggle to lock frigates, for gangs I'd strongly recommend fitting one.
Without an ECCM, you're easily jammed, and if you get jammed you're doing nothing.
Don't forget the drone bay, the Geddon has a nice 125m3 of it. I like sentry drones, since I don't tend to move in combat, I can release them and they start shooting immediately.
Amarr are very vulnerable to cap warfare, so be aware that multiple nosses will shut you right down.
I hope that helps, it's really the things I stick to when I fit out a geddon.

7x Dual Heavy Pulse, 1 Heavy Nos 1x Sensor Booster, 1x Heavy Cap Injector, 1x Wildcard (whatever you think you need most) 2x Large Rep, 3x EANM, 2x Heat Sink, 1x Co Proc
5x Berserker or Wasp (trick is not to have your drones doing same dmg as your lasers)
This will fit even without the best skills, and should serve you decently. Main trick is managing your cap booster so you get the most effect from it and your charges.

Edited by: Marcus Alkhaar on 06/07/2006 23:06:48 the Total pwn setup for close range gang fighting:
7x Mega Pulse Laser II 1x "Offline" Small remote armor rep (important)
1x sensor booster II 1x faint 20km scram 1x x5 web
3x 1600mm Rolled tungsten (nice to have 20k armor) 3x Heat sink II 1x Pseudoelectron damage control (second best, 4 mil, 19 cpu, worth it!!!) 1x EANM II
its so tight on cpu that nothing else really fit - I really wanted an ecm/eccm instead of the web, but the cpu wont allow it. 3 plates > any dual rep setup when flying in a gang
Ps. this needs a -3% cpu implant, you can get in empire anywhere for ~500k

I tried a setup on the test server that killed a Blasterthron (When i were in the right range)
High: 7xMP II. Med: AB, Cap injector (medium i think) and 20km disruptor. Low: 1x LAR2, can't remember the rest, but whatever you can fit to improve damage and cap.
Drones: 5xBeserker web drones.
If the BT get to close, you're dead, but if the drones gets to him before he get to fast, you'll win. Your AB can keep you away from him. Its a bit out of the box, and frees up a med slot with allmost the same effect as a regular web.

7x t2 dual heavy pulse, 1x heavy nos 20km scrambler, webber, cap injector cpu t2, 2x t2 EANM, 1x named dmg control, 2x t2 armor repper large, 2x heat sink t2
you will need a cov ops alt to get close to your prey.

I think the SB web scramble could do it.... maybe you want to use a named SB and upgrade the 3% cpu implant to a 5%.... maybe it will free up 11 cpu so you can fit the best named racial jammer (unfit the x5 web, its a gang setup - remember? )
The offline small remote armor rep is because if you got ships without reppers (like my geddon-setup) and go to a safe and need to repair others armor - I'd say allways fit an offline rep if you got a highslot you cant fit cpu/grid wise

I see alot of Sensorboosters here, but.... -> How the heck will he be able to get into RANGE to HIT and Scramble/Webb??
So plz go and fit AB/MWD+scrambler+webber, or maybe webber-drones, so uŠll have one spare med-slot, or ECM-Drones to avoid dmg with weak-tank but gank. Then go and fit MP+ 3x dmg-mod for pure BBQ and a plate+singlerepair.
Just a little help. But let your own creativity work.

+ web drones ( for frigs)

OMG that was painful reading that. ok firstly a cap injector is a must. anyone who flies amarr ships without one is a tool.
secondly unless ur in a large group your gonna need a 20km scram. And as said previously u need s speed mod or ur target is just gonna stay out of range. So that's ur mids taken up unless u have a good tackler and u can replace ur scram for a sensor booster or somthing.
I'm at work atm so unfortunately can't remember my setup exactly but thought i'd just give that bit of advice and tell u to ignore ppl saying fit 3 sensor boosters in the mids

You might try to go full out on the geddon.
High: 7 MP
Mid: f-90 Sensor booster 1 28 km disruptor 1 x5 webber
Low: 3 1600 Tungsten 3 Heatsink II 2 Something (would say stabs but you guys would kill me)
Drones: Vespa jamming drones or heaby if you know what targets you are up against

I see alot of people fitting 20km scrams in these setups, I know its pretty standard, but since the Geddon only has 3 valuable medslots to use, would it not be better to have an AB, Webber and a Cap Injector and leave the meanial (as someone said earlier :P) task of tackling up to the frigate support. Amarr ships really are the types of ships that need to support each other. Other ships like the Thron and the Tempest can spare the med slot for some warp disruption whereas the geddon isn't so suited for it. -----

Unless we are taking major actions against 5+ hostiles a cap injector isnt much needed unless you have more cap using modules.
In the case I posted above the target is dead or you are going down before the cap is out.

utter rubbish. amarr weapons use loads of cap. all it takes is a blasterthron or autopest with 2 heavy nos and u firing all your guns and maybe 1 cycle of ur reps and ur cap is gone and ur not firing anymore. mega pulse geddon with no cap enhancers = dead geddon. unless of course ur in a big group and don't get targetted.

What DarkElf said ^
Against anything with a heavy tank my MP II geddon using poxy conflag will cap out well before they're dead unless theres a trusty injector in the mids.
And my gunnery / cap skills are fine thx

I like this setup allot as the Geddon is not a solo ship thus you should not try to fit it like one. Only thing I would consider changing about the setup is to drop the 20k scram for a tracking comp, either way I'm sure it would work wonders for mid range engagements.

Edited by: Lisento Slaven on 07/07/2006 15:20:00 I never fit more than 2 heatsinks on my geddon closeup. The third one is lame (unless I'm sniping...the more the merrier!)
7x Megapulse
I always have a 20km Scram, the other two get mixed up very often between tracking computer, sensor booster, webber, cap recharger/injector, ECCM. Whatever you want.
If I need a fitting mod I won't use more than 1. Lowslots I tend to always have at least 1 WCS for closeup. 1 heatsink, maybe 2. And you shouldn't really need help on the "tank" part of the lowslots if you were flying an apoc.
Edit - Said there were more mids than there reall were on accident =P ---

sorry but i think WCS is for ppl that run and not for ppl that fight, 3 HS t2 + ship rof bonus give awesome effect so i guess there will be 3 HT t2 on my ship no doubt, i also want 1x LAR T2, 1x 1600mm tungsten plate, pseudoelectron damage control(it saved my ass many times when armor was gone)+ 2 more resis mods in the low slots ...
what do you think
