Getting it stuffed down your throat everywhere..

Tamiska	Posted - 2006.07.08 23:49:00 - [1] I know people agree and disagree with this subject but selling chars, I dont agree but not fussed about it happening as long as i dont have to see stuffed down my throat every ten mins. Tonight I looked at escrow and now they got adverts on that to sell their chars, well this is going a bit far I think. where is the limit going to be set. Then looked at the BP market and there adverts on there too.... Also half the selling forum is now full of chars sales and time card sales and now on escrow as well I play a game for relaxation from RL and this just annoys me.. Personnelly if they want it to happen it should be controlled and monitored by the eve staff. This will stop people like me getting annoyed by seeing it all the time and also will protect the would be purchasers from scams etc. Personnelly I think this will actually harm eve more in the long run if it is not properly controlled.. One unhappy eve player..
Lord Frost	Posted - 2006.07.09 00:01:00 - [2] 100% agree... and I'll be the first to say "I told you so". I saw this coming two years ago and its got worse. We STILL get mass emails ( IN THE GAME! )about buying isk. CCP is not on the case.

There can be no excuse for this and clearly something is very wrong in CCP's chain of command to allow this kind of thing to happen. Unless this poor man is justly compensated for this annoyance, and any post traumatic stress incurred from seeing a character for sale on escrow, I will cancel my accounts and boycott this company! Jojin	Posted - 2006.07.09 00:10:00 - [4] It may be a bit annoying to see advertisements everywhere, but only if you are not shopping for the item advertised. Currently, character sales for ISK are allowed. I personally don't see any problem with this because you can purchase other in game items you spent time to build or collect for ISK, why not a character. I think CCP should just post a warning to help reduce things, then if there are some major violators it could be quashed. I also think the new contract system will help reduce the escrow advertisements.

No cuts would be nessessary, as a controlled service would probably increase the sales thus more 20 euro's for the transactions etc...

The resources to monitor the advertising and so on wil require peoples attention. Moreover, how does a "controlled" service increase sales? If anything, you're going to discourage people by denying them access to advertising and thus lower transfers. Scamming on character transfers is not allowed, and never has been. So again, what are you going to cut?
