o7 all! For some time, traders, in order to be most efficient, had to use different tools (eg. Mentat, Elinor, iLol...). Unfortunately, there was no integrated solution combining all features into one application. Furthermore, most of these programs ran only on Windows (shame for us Linux guys).
I wish to present to you Evernus - a combination of the most useful features a trader can have. Started initially as a project for myself; as a means to combine Mentat and Elinor together and make it mulitplatform. Now I wish to give it to the world. Literally - it's Open Source.
Major features:
- Integrated margin tool for quick margin calculation/price update
- Character Sheet with tweekable trade skills for experimenting
- Statistics covering wallet balance, journal, transactions, asset value and order value, over time
- Asset tracking with current value
- Sell & buy order tracking (current state, history, changes, timeline, transactions, price helpers, etc.)
- Wallet journal tracking
- Wallet transaction tracking
- Custom costs (eg. for manufacturers)
- In-Game Browser integration
- Multiplatform support (Windows, Linux, OS X)
- Full internationalization
- Highly customizable
- EVE Mentat order history import
- Open Source
Current version: 0.1
This is the initial release (you can call it Beta), so there probably are some bugs present. Yet, I've been using it for some time now and it does its job real well
Please download, test and give feedback. And enjoy making tons of ISK! |

I do have it planned. I think it's going to be in the 0.4 release (0.3 should come out today, I hope). http://evernus.com - the ultimate EVE trade tool |

Combined statistics sound interesting and shouldn't be too hard to code. Although I might be a bit worried about the amount of data processing if someone has tons of alts.
Nevertheless, will look into it. Right now I need to finish a critical update to current version ASAP. http://evernus.com - the ultimate EVE trade tool |

I'm loving it so far, but personally I think I'd get a lot more use out of the Statistics page if the ISK values were shown as whole numbers rather than scientific notation. Any chance you could add a setting to change that?

Awesome application! I like the fact that updates are coming in such a speedy and good pace.
I do however have a few points on which the application could be improved:
* I like to group all my eve online applications together in a single folder (so for example C:/eve tools/Evernus/, and C:/eve tools/jEveAssets/) But every time a new version of Evernus becomes available the standard installation path of C:/program files/Evernus/ gets chosen. Is there a way you could save the previous installation path and use that as the new installation path whenever an upgrade becomes available?
* When i import new data and i have the option close automatically selected it doesn't work. The window does not close when the imported data reaches 100%.
* I tried several times to import prices using web, but every time i get the error connection closed and no prices are being imported. Is there something i am doing wrong, or is that not working properly?
* On the statistics page the amount of isk involved shows (in my case) for example 4x10Gü+ Could you possibly change that to something that actually makes sense? Like 1,7 billion isk, or 442 million isk?
* I am not sure if this is at all possible, but i was wondering if somehow the contracts could also be included into the program. What i mean with that is this: I provide my alliance and other friendly alliances with certain ships on contract. Up until now it has not been possible for me to get a clear picture of what my overall profits are from fitted ships i put on contract. I have a rough idea what my profit is per sell that i make, but it would be very helpful if this application could calculate for me what the overall profit is in total per day, week, or within a certain time period. I dont know if this is important or not, but i have chickens..... |

Hmm.. The installer is a 3rd party software over which I have only as much control as they make available and I'm using a free version, so I don't know if that's possible. I will dig into the documentation.
Dunpeal Hunter wrote: * When i import new data and i have the option close automatically selected it doesn't work. The window does not close when the imported data reaches 100%.
That's strange. It always worked fine. Note, the window will not automatically close in case of any errors. And we're talking about the import window, not the whole application, right?
Dunpeal Hunter wrote: * I tried several times to import prices using web, but every time i get the error connection closed and no prices are being imported. Is there something i am doing wrong, or is that not working properly?
It's a known issue. You have too many assets scattered over too many places and eve-marketdata.com just doesn't accept this much. I'm planning on making a workaround.
Dunpeal Hunter wrote: * On the statistics page the amount of isk involved shows (in my case) for example 4x10Gü+ Could you possibly change that to something that actually makes sense? Like 1,7 billion isk, or 442 million isk?
You can change it in the Preferences (Prices section).

I'm planning in creating a Contracts tab, similar to market orders. Just need to figure out the GUI. http://evernus.com - the ultimate multiplatform-áEVE trade tool |

The app is interesting, but there are few points that I would like to note as a EVE Mentat user.
1. I Like the idea you took EVE Mentat and combined it with that other app in order a multiplatform. I certainly like some things about it that EVE Mentat doesn't have such as assets list.
2. I don't understand why you had to break or delete anything that EVE Mentat has. My suggestion would be to use it as a starting point and build on that. For example EVE Mentat has separate tabs for Market Browser and Orders which I find easier to use because importing market from importing the orders are separated.
3. What's with the cache import? It doesn't seem to work.
4. There is really little documentation on using the app and it's pretty scarce. I would suggest making a YouTube video on how to use all the apps features with the actual live example, so users better understand how to use it and what needs to be setup in certain cases. I just released version 1.7 with a hotfix for price import:
- [new] auto-guessing cache path
- [fixed] price import due to obscure Microsoft compiler bug
- [fixed] corporation orders log import
I would like to thank Microsoft for leaving this mine in their compiler for people to step on. Seriously - a bug which appears randomly and only in Release mode. WTF Microsoft? http://evernus.com - the ultimate multiplatform-áEVE trade tool |

Thanks for your suggestions. Separate market tab and YT tutorials are things I have in planning for a long time, but some other things tend to pop up first. I'm thinking of the market tab interfacing with the IGB and margin tool to automatically tell you what to trade, based on current prices and volume. http://evernus.com - the ultimate multiplatform-áEVE trade tool |

Interesting program, and i really like the margin tool. But i have a question, the statistics tab, isk is showed in the manner of 2.4*10^8 and so forth, which works, but would it be possible to be able to switch to just show the regular amount of isk? 240 000 000 for example? Takes more space, but then i don't have to calculate the value each time.
Else keep up the good work, looking forward to see how it develop. |

Edit: One more question, "import prices from web" what site is it using to get the prices?
You can change the number format in the Preferences (it's in the Prices section). For web import, it uses eve-marketdata.com. http://evernus.com - the ultimate multiplatform-áEVE trade tool |

Nice, thanks =)
I understand that the more 0 involved the harder it is to read, so would it be possible to maybe add some spacing or commas in the numbers?
And the margin tool, the autocopy price on export makes adding items to the market a easier and faster, but would it be possible to be able to just click on the sell or buy line in the margin tool to copy the number as well? Remember a tool called Elinor having that feature, pretty neat. |
