It depends what you're against--whether you fight against pirates as opponents, or whether you are against their very existence in the game. A griefer is a person who's only enjoyement in any game is the ruining of other peoples game time and takes this to the extreme; possibly even by going after the same people over and over, that said, not all pirates are griefers - but the profession does lend itself to griefers.
