Originally by: Alexi Kalashnikov Rather than flaming, I'll just put out the following:
We took, held and defended conquerable space from one of the top alliances in EVE without significant capital ship support OF OUR OWN (that is, capital ships owned and operated by GoonFleet members). During this invasion we destroyed more than a dozen enemy capitals and a few POSs (as is to the best of my knowledge).
When D2 realized that they could not wage a combat war against us, primarily because of our rules of engagement, they played one their could win: economical.
I donŠt want to flame this thread neither but I have to burst your bubble anyway:
The main reason for us not being able to wage a combat war against you was lag. If Dread attacks on your POS'es would have been playable under the circumstances we experienced in XZH, this whole war would have been decided much earlier. The servers did not support it, so we had to go another way to win this war.

Edited by: CalBar on 31/07/2006 18:43:21 I don't wish to burst *your* bubble, but we were affected by lag as well (especially last weekend), and your last two dreads (I believe) were lost to a smallish gang in a lag-free battle.
It is a shame the server could not handle the battles better than it did.
I also question your claim of having won. I believe GS does not feel they have lost.

Uh, dude, look at our forums first please. Notably the stickied thread "Good News on the XZH Retreat." They've taken the system, at the very least for some time, we got the hell out of dodge. That's not very ambiguous.

toot toot I'm late to a Swarm thread.
1. We didn't contact RISE for a serious alliance, though I may have lied about that. It's pretty hard to tell anymore. I mean, seriously guys, RISE? Us? It could have happened as a prank, though.
Actually, it almost certainly happened as a prank, that's pretty laffo.
2. Yeah, we retreated from XZH. Attacked CR about 4 months ahead of schedule by accident, and lag borked both sides. But we killed a lot of dreads and put the bees into an even harsher environment than Syndicate, which is always good.
3. BoB is in Syndicate, and we're fighting them tooth and nail with our Atrons and Executioners of doom. As you can tell, we take homeland defense VERY SERIOUSLY. Which is why we wardecced everyone else, to prove just how much gravitas we have.

Originally by: Scrofalitic One The reality so far would seem to idocate that Goon Fleet have lost XZH, with the station now being firmly in D2 hands again. Your other holdings in Cloud Ring will doubtless follow suit in the next few days, certainly by next weekend it would be a great suprise to me personally if Goon Fleet was active in any real way in the region.
The reality would also seem to indicate that BoB have your home system pretty well locked down and are killing anything that dares to show its little Goonie face.
Of course, being Eve, this could all change rather quickly. However at the moment the reality for Goon Fleet is that it is like a beaten boxer, on the ropes and taking body blow after head shot. A-rocking and a-reeling, not down yet but it ain't looking good....
My views, and maybe not my corps or my alliance's views as I only speak for myself.
All that for a system that you guys didn't want. Anyway, I counted 11 people in XHZ local today, 2 of them ours.
My views are mine and do not represent the views or policies of my corp or alliance. |

I know :) Well gawd knows I'm not a HC, FC or anything other than a late to the party grunt, but I believe it was all about principles. As in we object in principle to GoonFleet owning anything at all, least of all something taken from our allies.
So, job done really. Current status seems to be Goons are out of CR, saving a very few scattered about in safe spots or refusing to undock from stations you no longer control.
And it would appear that BoB are also proving quite adept at keeping you from being in the least bit comfy in SU.

Goonfleet got removed from Cloudring pretty easily.
Their siege on the system was stopped by a random 40 people gang at the morning, 54 bubbels destroyed and after that you could see the worst evacuation of a system ever.
Control towers and whole corporate hangar arrays were looten.

Who are GoonSwarm anyway, new power or something? I've been away so long now dunno whats going on.
If so i dont think Eve can hold another superpower, looks to my like D2 would crush such a force before it ever got off the ground.
Then again it would be nice to have four super powers again, more seems to happen with four.

Noo, noo! You actually didn't miss much except for some funny GoonSwarm propaganda. Here is a short summary: They were catching us off-guard when we were in the process of handing over Cloud Ring to a friendly party and we had to show them their way back to Syndicate. The funny thing about them is mostly, at least judging from their propaganda, they really seemed to believe that they ever had a chance. But oh well, some kids only learn the hard way. What remains after the dust has settled is that we occupy northern Deklein now as GoonSwarm dragged Sparta into the conflict in all their despair. ---

I think it was all the capital ships we kept popping. And, in the end, we lost a POS spamming war. It's not like your pilots chased us out. In battle after battle, we continually demonstrated space superiority in terms of pilot tactics, strategy, and ability to have fun, despite continually facing pilots with far more skillpoint and T2 tricked out ships.
The whole thing was more fun in a computer game than I've had in a long time. Looking forward to round II.

Now, why do you feel the need to spam this thread? Fairly obvious that it's pretty irrelevent to the current topics of discussion, as well as the fact that it's older than even BoB's declaration of war on GS.

While I enjoy sarcasm, not only was that unwarranted, but it was a direct attack on myself. I'm stating that the thread is a bit old, and not relevent to what is being talked about. If you'd stop overexaggerating any tiny detail into a massive, blatant lie, perhaps you'd be respected? I'm not going to go into any harsher language than that, because I don't want to reduce this to nothing but a flame war because you can't go ten minutes without insulting people. ________________________________ Lovable alt. <3 |

BTW, Goons, ask your leadership why they brainwash you with propaganda, its funny tbh. Oh yeah you think 10 cap ship losses is really gonna hurt an alliance like D2? besides, after all your exploiting, they prolly got them all back.

Why wardec five alliances? How many times does it need to be repeated?
For... F-U-N. Fun. You know what fun is, right? Our corporation's business plan for the 2H of the year, includes a sound design to attack five alliances as a profitable venture. As a business, it makes sense for us to go have a good time. 3rd Quarter projections are off the charts, with a potential major upside in Q4. We expect our hired Mercenaries to have a strong hand in making this GoonSwarm's most profitable year in it's history. Frankly, I'm curious how all these other Mega-corps/Alliances are paying their bills... stagnating, like they've been for some time now.
It's not very... corporate.

Man, some of you are the most delusional people I have ever seen. Of course no one thinks 10 cap ships really hurts D2. We found it funny the first week because of their mantra "we don't want XZH". And after they lost them "yawn, we can just run the complex". Oh wait, no they couldn't. Then it was "we have the BPOs". They turned into the Iraqi Information Minister over the course of three days.
As for the accused exploiting, who is the brainwashed?

I'm guessing that the problem is that no other alliance in EVE thinks it's fun to fly nothing but shuttles and frigates and last no longer than the time it takes for undock protection to wear off. Of course, to each his own, but you're being ridiculous if you think doing nothing but sitting in stations(probably flaming BoB or whoever about how they weren't able to lock that pod fast enough) is fun. Fun for them is doing stuff like ratting with friends, trying out that new battleship, etc. Also known as normal stuff.

Their "mantra" for the first week was true; they were just trying to protect the system while they were handing it over to their friend. Your second point makes no sense, since how could they not run a complex(if this is referring to something specific, explain it)? Third point as well, since they built the ships, so they'd need BPs for them, and it gets easily dismissed along with your second point when you consider that they are rich as heck and would be able to afford BPOs and fresh Dreadnoughts.
I don't get why you keep saying it's impossible for you to ever exploit, ever ever ever. Consider the fact that your alliance is made up of like two thousand players that probably wouldn't know what a dreadnought even is. Now, imagine that even a single one of them hears about the BM-can lag trick, and add that to the common Goon member having a strong tendency towards doing anything they can to harass the enemy, and you've got a sure chance of BM cans being thrown all over the system. ________________________________ Lovable alt. <3 |
