I know alot of people like Goonfleet but im pretty sure this will change your mind.
Goonfleet use very underhanded tactics, their main one is warping a cov ops to a POS, then trying to invite a carrier to a gang, if the carrier pilot accepts, the goon will then start a gang warp to one of their pos's/fleets.
These kind of tactics are disgusting to see and i honestly think if Remedial had any honour he would remove that member from the corp - but after several mails he will not.
Typical goons, underhanded tactics!

1) Don't accept gang invites from hostiles then :) 2) If you do accept it and the enemies start go gang warp you away, perhaps it's a good thing to abort the warp?
In the extremly unlikely event that that scheme should work, then it is due to the sillyness of the carrier pilot and not due to the superior plan of the goonies, even if that is funny :)

while you are indeed right that it is stupid to accept such an invite and gang warp, when you are flying with allies it is not always possible to know the gangleaders names by heart (ts helps ofcourse) that said, it is a lame lame tactic, and for me ranks in the same category as logon tactics and the likes

It is not allways easy to know who gang leader is. But you can check. Show info do wonders. Especialy if you are at POS, its not hurry to jump on first invitation if you not sure who sender is

The carrier pilot did abort warp, but it is a very underhanded tactic and proves that goons are very dishonourable and Remedial wont even boot the member.

Maybe it is an 'underhanded' tactic, but if it actually worked on you I have no sympathy for you what-so-ever.
How can you actually except a hostile gang invite, and then let your slow ass carrier align and get into warp before you actually notice something is wrong?
I don't get it...

omg ... i have seen lot's of stupid threads in this forum .. but this one is certainly one of the top threads.
it's imho an annoying and a bit lame but valid tactic too use - it can countered really easy: use common sense - don't get in gangs with people you don't know
btw - goons were not the first one who used this tactic ... ___________________

Don't you have the strength of conviction to post with your main?
Sure, your post may have merit but with all the alt trolls about here you lose 100 pts of credibility off the bat.
All a lot of people read is "blah blah I'm an alt"
Just post with your main or stick to out of pod or something ffs.

I wouldn't worry too much about this, Fetor, your carrier is very unlikely to be subject to such an attack, because as far as I know the State War Academy is not part of D2.
There is a petition system in the game. D2 don't seem to have been shy about using it, so I'm not sure why there also need to be alts making idiotic accusations on the boards. Not accepting gang invites from unknown entities is like Lowsec 101. I'm sure whoever did it considered it little more than an idle hobby, rather than a serious attempt to kill anyone.
Let's face it, if you got popped over this it would have been pretty funny.

have you considered the guy was happily typing and BANG comes the gang screen and he presses enter at the same time to paste the message?
not all things are avoidable, especially when the gang invite steals focus from the rest of eve...

Yeah that is a very bad way for it to default, but complaining about this as an attempt to kill a carrier is equally silly. You'd have to have terrible reactions to get a carrier killed this way (given that you have to be at your keyboard to mistakenly accept the invite).
On the other hand doing it the Kray brothers would be pretty underhanded because they would have only miliseconds to stop their inties from warping.

please, stop polluting the gene pool. lets not forget that hiding carriers at POS' and assigning fighters out, rendering them virtually invincible, can also be considered a lame and underhanded tactic. i dont see what theyve done as bad in any way, theyre just trying to counter your own attempts to lame. and the fact your carrier pilot was mentally redundant enough to actually accept a hostile gang invite, doesnt make me wonder why goonfleet are trying such "tactics", it makes me wonder how someone can be stupid enough to fall for such an old trick.
better luck next time goonfleet.

Franky, I'm gonna ignore your last comment, and just put it down to maybe you just got out of bed and you aren't in fact a total fkin noob.
ANy Carrier pilot that falls for summin like that, is an idiot and deserves everything he got.
Its not like a carrier insta aligns n warps. And when you enter then gang and you dont recognise anyones name surely you show info a few peeps.
Yes its a lame tacic, but it was probably just a bit of fun to see if the carrier pilot really could be SO STUPID.
Get a grip.

I can confirm that Goonfleets main tactic is to put up a single POS in a hostile system, and then try and invite people to gang.
It's how they got sov in XZH, and how they've managed to hold on to Syndicate for so long.
What people don't know is that Goonwaffe, their industrial corp, is funded by buying shuttles in Empire and putting them back on sale at 9001 ISK.
They do have another tactic, but it's a secret one and they keep the people doing it noob corps. They start a character, transfer the 5000 ISK to Remedial, and put the character into the biomass recycler. They're able to do this 3 times every 12 hours, or 6 times per day. With 100 goons doing this non-stop they generate the 300K ISK per day which funds their capital ship program.

I did lose a rifter to this once, had the bad fortune of hearing "Max, I'm sending you a gang" on ts, the box popped up 2 seconds later which i clicked without looking and I was on my way to the RA POS. Got the real gang invite while I was in warp
Edit: Hi Aneu !
Another edit: Goonswarm should be careful. The continuing use of "suspect" tactics will earn them few friends in Eve.
