My worst day was the day that I had to biomass my first forum alt because I accidentally posted on my main instead in a heated forum argument. This was a fairly easy mistake to make back on the old forum. Many a forum alt paid the price for those mistakes.

Corps come and go - sure you might like the players in them, but if the leadership makes choices you can't agree with it's time to move on.
Second worst day would be the day they nerfed war dec mechanics and ended privateers. |

Coincidentally, the tears from that gank when only about 100m ISK worth of stuff dropped was also my best day in EvE.

Nothing terrible happened in the end, but I remember one particularly stressful night.
Earlier this year when BL's assets were burning in Venal, I left my phone in another room and missed the ping to extract supers. This was when they ejected all the supers seconds before the tower went down. (We were surrounded by a CFC blap fleet.) I thought there was a good video of it but I can't find it now.
After 3+ weeks of not being able to log in that toon (except 1m before DT to change skills), I was mulling over a solo extraction op. I scouted the system and of course there were 2 AFK cloakers keeping tabs on the system. The original plan was to spam login after DT and either try to MWD out of the bubbles or cloak and spend 1 hr slowboating out of the bubbles, depending on whether there was anyone in local. This was before I knew you could extract a super from such a camp by logging in seconds before DT. Also, yes, I now know what a terrible idea this was.
I didn't want to risk having eyes in the system right before DT so as to not tip anyone off, so I was pretty much hoping that the AFK cloakers were indeed semi-AFK and not going to log in the second the servers came online. I was sick to my stomach for like 3 hours leading up to DT. Fortunately I chickened out at the last second with my finger on the trigger on the login screen.
Instead I logged my scout back in just to have a look at local to see what would have been waiting for me had I logged in. Despite spamming login, the AFK cloakers still beat me to local, so I would have undoubtedly been caught had I attempted to extract. Fortunately, Elo put together a proper extraction op for me and others with the help of TRI which still ended up being pretty suspenseful.

I would have said, the first time I lost a ship I loved. But over time in Eve you learn to not sweat it and not to fly anything you don't feel comfortable losing immediately in eve. Now I realize losing ships is good for the game. Go let some new players kill yo a few times and take risks.
But recently I think I had my worst day when my alliance moved to null and I have hundreds of ships fitted/ on market and billions of modules and I realized you cant survive in null very well without your own carrier. I have trained specifically over the last couple years for battle cruiser and smaller combat.
I came to the realization that to be involved with that content I would have to stop training for black ops and gunnery skills and dedicate 75 days or so to training for something I don't want to fly. |

I can tell you about my worst day that almost happened.
Days before my player event, Flight of a Thousand Rifters III, I was steaming the docked Nyx on Twitch to help promote it. I also had other clients open doing other things preparing for the event, not steaming them of course. Just running around buying up the mods for the tank and stuff. On another alt I was setting up a T3 with gang links. I was sure I would be alpha'd upon undocking the Nyx for the event.
Now keep in mind the current station the Nyx was docked in was not the event location. No one knew where it would be as it was still days away. Outside the station was various known and unknown pilots of groups with hics and cyno's for, you know, just in case.
I'm bouncing between all my clients multi-tasking between buying goods, chatting in the event channel, all kinds of stuff...
I buy some things, say something in chat, buy some more stuff, answer a question and hit the undock button. Then at the last second realize I forgot the rigs. Hit the abort undock button. Open the market and see there is really nothing there anymore. Who the hell bought all the rigs?! Damn Hita market manipulators!! Then it hits me.
I was looking at the market for Marlona Sky and not the alt in Jita. And then I did the biggest holy **** moment in realizing I almost undocked the Nyx. Days before the event and most certainly into waiting HICs with cynos. And the Nyx was not fit with a single thing.

I have to agree with Jenn aSide here. I can't take the game too seriously as to have a bad day i suppose. It's a game, it is supposed to be fun. If you aren't enjoying it or you let it eat you up, then it's time to take a break.
I've had people call me everything under the sun after i kill them. Some of the threats are genuinely funny. And apparently my mother has questionable sexual choices, extensive partners and somewhat loose morals according what i am told. ( I haven't asked her about this yet, maybe i won't like the answer. )
If i let all that get to me, i may as well unsub now.
However, the stupidest thing i have ever done in EvE? Now there's a story......................................

That would probably be Mumble related.
About the first large fleet I was in, had just set up Mumble and somehow failed at configuring it properly.
So while I could hear the FC in theory, all talk was drowned in that mighty automated computer voice constantly saying "USER SWITCHED CANNEL...USER JOINED YOUR CHANNEL...USER SWITCHED CHANNEL...etc etc etc"
I didn't know how to get rid of that crippling automatic audio message and after a while, out of sheer helplessness and blind rage, I started smashing my fists on the keyboard and yelling back at the computer: " SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT THE F+CK UP!!!"
Needless to say, I had accidentally hit the push-to-talk button while hitting my keyboard in helpless fury....
I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it.
Yes, I do feel bad about it.

It was not this character but my other character on another account. I was moving about 1.2 billion in assets to Jita. I was auto piloting through the .8-.9 high-sec systems while I did stuff on another account with the intent of returning and piloting my ship the last few jumps. Well, wife aggro happened and I clicked the dock button quickly and left my desk after a jump not realizing you have to turn off your autopilot to do that. Ha, so well I return I was in my pod in Jita 4-4 with a nice killmail loss waiting. So learned my lesson on that one! It was well deserved. That is why I enjoy Eve, while loses matter and it stinks they teach you to play better. I don't think I can link killmails on this site but the character is 'Marseillefrog' if you want to look it up for a good laugh. Good times go Eve. |

My worst day was just last week. By far my most expensive loss. Pretty much everything of value I owned except my fitted ships. Heading into Jita at New Caldari I was flying my stuff to Jita. Only time I ever lost a Tayra just happens to be when I had it loaded with faction fof (about 40k heavy scourge), launchers, and BCU along with T2 mods. Prob about 4 bil isk of stuff. I did have everything in containers, so it wasn't that I got scanned. Just my lucky day!
My own fault for moving stuff like that in a Tayra. I now refer to it as a water balloon, because it popped that easy. Was a ****** fit, but really. I got attacked by a Tornado. Weird thing was, as I warped into Jita I was in my pod before I even loaded into zone. At least I didn't loose my pod. Then some random guy put a billion isk bounty on my head for no reason. This is all after I just returned to EVE after a couple year break
Easy come easy go. At least I got all my combat ships already fitted. Welcome back to EVE.  |

My worst day was some time ago, can't remeber when exactly but holy **** was I bored.
Nobody to shoot at, nobody that hounded me from gate to gate through entire constellations trying to get to my delicious cargo, noone to smack talk in local, not even in corp chat... It was as if I had entered an entire new region of space devoid of all life, filled only with emptiness and a lingering feeling of futility.
Worst 2 hours ever, I never want that again.
Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

I called a meeting and basically said "let's re-roll into a single corp and join Brave - I've already gotten the thumbs up from the diplos". Half of the alliance (including our strongest Indy folk, the Germans) refused to leave because they "wouldn't dare join another nullsec alliance".
It was disheartening because I knew the reason they didn't want to join was due to being forced into CTA's and structure grinds as former nullseccers (former members of BoB, SoCo, and CFC, for ex). Brave was very much seated in Barl at the time (lowsec), and VERY MUCH against "required anything". The Brave culture was something I knew they'd love, but unfortunately they just didn't believe it would be true. We ended up parting ways with half of the alliance coming with me. Unfortunately, several of the Finnish guys I'd grown to really like had already stopped logging in and never even knew about the transition.
This wasn't the worst day, though - the *worst* day was when I found out the whole lot of them had joined either Co2 or BoT just a few months after the split. That really drove a stake through the ol' heart - I saw it as a "We were fine going into Null - just not with you."

a friend with an '03 char quit Eve. But he transferred his char to one of my accounts first. I spent 18 months and maxed him out as a Carrier pilot (Pre-triage). Perfect skills, lots of DG Invulns (500mil each back whem a 30 GTC was < 200mil). Faction smarties, total beast. That thing had went 40v1 and held the field for 15 minutes until backup arrived.
He comes back, I transfer him the character back.
"So what did you do with the carrier?"
"I Sold it and bought a Golem"
1 month after marauders where released and still utter trash. He bought a lvl 4 mission runner to replace a carrier that had seen the End of BoB, D2 and IRON.

AP-ing a blockade runner straight into a low sec gate camp. Used to set destination, turn on AP and come back to the game just b4 it reached low sec. Of course, you're going to forget from time to time. Survived the first 10 or so times that happened which made me even more careless and the inevitable happened, lost blockade runner and a clone full of spensive implants. Close to a billion isk loss. Back in those days that meant more than 3 PLEX :D
Apparently I didn't learn enough from the experience cuz I found myself floating afk in low sec several times after that. Finally made me decide not to do any AP-ing to low sec all together.
These days, the New Order made me realize the error of my ways and I don't AP at all anymore (cept for noobchars with no training or implants I use for various scouting errands). |

In one day I lost a Vargur (1.5b) two 800m isk tengues (1.6b total) and a 200m isk blocade runner. I was not happy.
The worst day, that after that I realized dying is nothing, is when I lost my first carrier a week after I had it, because I was dumb and did not have small drones while belt ratting (this was in 06 maybe 07) I got caught in null sec by a WT/RED and wound up begging in local for 15 min till they killed me.
Was not my best day, but after that, and my subsequent 50 badger deaths in a month (fuel hauling.. sigh stupid gate camps) I pretty much sigh, say GF and die. Unless I laugh at you for taking too damn long to kill me, then I find it funny as ****.

The day I was doing a bombing run with Bombers Bar, ended up getting caught in EC-P8R lost my bomber and empty pod, no biggie. I reshipped as my clone was 22J away I forgot to update my clone I went through Rancer got Bombed on the gate by a Rokh lost Fighters 5 52days to get it back. It's been 2 years still haven't trained that skill back up. |

Worst day: Logging in to change skills only to find out our alliance leadership decided they didn't want to do that anymore so they took everything and left. Then having to log out 5 min later because of RL obligations.
2nd worst day: Getting all my crap outta null the next day. This happened long before JF's and before I was space-rich, and most everyone else bugged-out on day #1. It was a painfully tedious/laborious process I shall never revisit.

I could be wrong, but IIRC containers don't prevent scanning. I checked fairly recently and that seemed to be the general consensus.
Mind you it was an old thread and perhaps CCP changed it.
I always split my big hauls into smaller journeys. It's absolutely mind-numbingly tedious doing 90 jumps instead of 15 or what have you, but I just think of that sick moment when you jump into a bubble camp with all your worldly possessions on you and I think tedium is preferable over it
I'd say my worst day on EVE was in low sec, realising that even though I could now fly shiny Battlecruisers, I couldn't solo anyone in them because if you hit a gatecamp you're pretty much screwed. So this big new piece of killer hardware had to sit about being near useless until gang ops once or twice a week. |

My first, and last, big null sec battle.
We were supposed to fight in AX-DOT, rus/cfc against PL. I took one day free from work, just to fight. I have prepared few ships, so I could fight longer. I was there in one hour, going with mwd Condor through every gate bubbled wasn't nice. Then I docked in station, ships prepared, and waited.
I've waited for sixteen-****-hours, just to be informed at the end of the day, that there won't be any fight, because PL decided to show somewhere else. I believe it was few days before HED-GP.
I've left alliance two days later, and never want to come back.

The way they describe how much fun it was and how some would wail about the loss, the "ahhh.. poor baby" type comments to get them to rage quit..
The picture that went through my head was of a school teacher watching a bully put the beat down on a kid in a schoolyard cheering that bully on.
All I could think was "thank god they don't teach anywhere near where I live." |
