donate it, to a school like eve-uni, or our own midgard academy it would help them give new players a headstart, or you could just keep it im sure you will play eve at somepoint in the future. -----------------------------------------------

our corp would use this wisely...
however, seeing a player go is always a sad news. Many people got bored of WoW after a short while, maybe postpone your hangar clearing for when you're SURE you leave? -

I'd say take your break and go play Wow... Wait like 6 months and see how you like it. If your still sure that you'll never come back then pay for a one month sub and then check out Eve how it is then. Use that first 2 weeks to check it out and if you still don't think you'll want to stay then use the last two weeks to liquidate.
I'm of the opinion of others you will be back, seen it many times already. Myself, I've been here since Mar 04 and don't plan on going anywhere.

I agree with everyone here saying "Keep it"
I say this for good reasons too.
I left Eve Online to first play Anarchy Online (all the time keeping my Eve account active and training). AO was a fun game but then it became very very boring, the PVP is way to unbalanced as people can squish you in a matter of seconds because they are bigger and stronger then you.
The Character types are too unbalanced favouring ranged types and melee have to suffer.
AO started to really annoy me so I left and went to WOW.
WoW at first looked fantastic but then as I reached closer to lvl 60 it became very clear that the game was very limited. I quickly became bored of everything WoW has to offer.
I tried to PvP and I got the a very respectable character. It got to a point where I pretty much wasn't beatable in a 1 on 1. At this point I realised that the whole game was far too easy and I quit.
So I came back to Eve Online and found so much more in it, I realise now that Eve has no ending, that I can do what I like.
Eve is so open and it lets you do what you feel like doing rather then restricting you down to following a bunch of rules.
Trust me, you will be back and you will be glad that you kept everything. ------------------------------------------- Famous last words: "Hey kids, watch this!" |

Just keep the stuff. WOW gets very boring very fast, and then you might want to come back to Eve.
OR, join some PVP corp, and take the money with you. With all that stuff you could PVP in BS's every day without having to worry about losing them. Sounds like fun to me! :)

spend ~100m isk a month on a time card to keep your account active so you can still train without having to pay money.

Like everyone else said, keep your stuff. Only give your stuff away if you want to quit, never because you're just temporarily bored.
I too, went away to play Wow for a year or so... but I guarantee you, it's Wow that is stagnating and losing players right now, not Eve. When Burning Crusade comes out, people will go back for a while, and then come back to Eve again etc etc ad infinitum.

Ofcourse an Armageddon would be nice to have.
But seriously, keep your stuff for a rainy day where you might start playing EVE again. There are oodles of cases where people have come back and cursed for not keeping anything.

Originally by: Ebonheart Well I am the last of the minmohicans. I started with a group of 17 people playing Eve. It was awsome. Now sadly the rest have all moved on to Wow, with a few going to anarchy online.
Now I have decided to do the same. I have tried the leapfrogging skill month, where you pay for a month and start a long skill train for the next after your subscription runs out, but no more.
But what about all my stuff?Mainly I have a character with over 16 mill. sp, but obviosly that can't go to anyone, but I also have ALL the stuff that the other corp mates left when they jumped ship. Many Battleships, mostly Megathrons and apocs. Mining barges, lots of bpo's and oodles and oodles of minerals. i wish that I could set myself up as an Npc so that I could make up missions that give that stuff as a reward. Anybody have any interesting ideas for liquidation? I want it to go to real players who want to stick with this game not beggers. Oh well, I guess it all just sits as code waiting to be called upon years down the road when the game has changed enough to call me back.
Give it all to me, I will tell people the tale of the noble Ebonheart who donated all his isk to the Empire.

I'll join in chanting "keep your stuff". If you liked the harsh world of Eve, you'll get bored with WoW after you've tried the rides for couple times.
We'll miss you, and it'll be easier for you to come back if don't have to start from scratch.
If you really hate to see all that stuff lie dormant, find a reliable person, and give everything to him as a 'loan'. In case you ever choose to come back, he'll return you an equal amount.
-Lasse a reliable person :)

Put everything named and expensive on the market for maybe a little bit less then the average price. Except for your favorite ship+fitting. Refine all 'inferiour' stuff. Sell the minerals. Put on some long training skill, don't cancel your account, drop into EVE once in a while (to change skill..). Play WoW in the meantime. Get bored of WoW (which you will, according to all other stories. EVE is my first MMO, so no experience with that...) Return to EVE, hop in your ship and have fun again.
At least that was almost what I did when I had to leave for 6 months due to my final internship to finish my study. (I only did not play WoW in the meantime) ---

Played in wow from the beta until about 3 months ago. Had 60's of 4 different classes all with high PvP rankings and endgame gear. It was fun, but once you get to a certain point you can do no more. That and instanced pvp turned everything into carebear.
I just recently started playing EvE and my only regret now is that I didn't start years ago.
After coming to it from WoW, DAOC, SWG and FFXI it really is the best out there.

Set up an event or something for rewards.
Like put a can with a bookmark somewhere in a deep 0.0. Preferably in a complex or belt with npc spawns. Then starting from Jita tell people in which system its located. They have to race each other to the can without getting podded / destroyed and then back to Jita. Give the winner a prize.
Stuff like that is better then just giving it away to one player.

I dont know about you guys... But if i was a new player and someone tossed a bil in my wallet I dont know if id still enjoy EVE that much.... All thats left to do is wait for the next skill to finish till you can pvp properly. Say what you want but EVE is about making isk. and than spending that isk in PVP. If the making isk part is gone than eve is insanely boring in the beginning i think.

Please, keep your EVE account. I've played WoW and I promise you will be back. There's just not enough to do in the game to keep you interested after you've experienced the depth of a game like EVE. Trust me you'll regret it bigtime if you get rid of your stuff.

Without doubt you and your friends will return to eve, unless of course you like the no hazzle world where gatecamps are non existant and no worries about loosing anything because you went afk in enemy territory exist except the short running from the graveyard to your corpse when your done afk. When you want real danger and a real rush, you will find your way back to the one thing that includes it, Eve.

To those that would have Ebonheart just give you this stuff that he is willing to give away. Don't you think that getting free stuff like that would ruin your game experience and the satisfaction of earning it on your own?
I think it is nice and all that he is willing to give the stuff away but at the same time it totally devalues the item and takes away from the overall enjoyment of the game the way it was meant to be enjoyed!
I think Ebonheart should just keep the stuff or at least sell it all or create an ingame contest for someone (or more) to earn it. Or how about just give it all to another corporation that has had your back when you needed it. Anything... Just dont give it away for nothing.

Ive been playing for a while and pay for my sub on a yearly basis. I was addicted by the third day of trying eve out and its the only game i play.
If I were you, I would just hold on to all the stuff and just put Eve aside for a bit because you will be back again some day and when you do comeback, it will be nice to not have to start all over.
If you bored and disillusioned because your friends have left, contact me in game about our corp. We have a great group of people from all over the planet from australia, to europe, africa, U.S., and we have a blast together around the clock doing all sorts of things.
If youre hell bent on giving your stuff away, we could always use more assets to help new players players get off to a good start and on the right foot in the eve universe so your stuff would be put to good use. Again, contact in game.

Originally by: Defiant Mayhem But about the coming back later, After some selling of minerals and ships and the money I inherited from other corpmates I have over 14 bill. so I would rather the BS's and barges and bpo's (plus I have 19 Thoraxes)go to someone who will use them. I have until August 8th to decide. I will probably give it to a corp in Heimetar (spelling ?) as I am based out of Dumkirinur.
Well, MSCS - Minmatar Ship Construction Services based out of Teonesude, would gladly help you there! We are a fledgling industrial corp trying to gain the capitol to break into the better markets. We would gladly accept any donations, be they ships, ISKs, or BPOs that you wish to make. You can contact Phaige, Eximo, or Becq Starforged IG.

This is acceptable by CCP standards.

Edited by: Berious on 21/07/2006 14:30:55 I'd also say keep it. I've quit a few times swearing never to come back(even once gave away all my isk ) but without fail I'd resubbed to the game after a while. If you're determined not to sink anymore money into the game right now you could always use some of those assets to buy timecards. Seriously you'll thank me for this when WoW gets boring.

First off, I agree with all the folks who say "keep your stuff."
That being said, if you're thinking about giving it away, then why not pass me the BPO's for awhile. Buddy of mine and I are thinking of starting our own mfg corp, and that would be a fine start for us.
I'll even give them back if you decide to return. You have no way of knowing if I'm blowing smoke up your ass, but it's a better bet than giving them all away to random people. By that time, we will have been able to afford our own blueprints, and it wouldn't be a problem to hook you back up.

When I quit EQ for SB, I found random newbish looking people, and gave them stuff.
It was kinds fun.
When I quit WoW, I just delted my character, as there is nothing in WoW that you can't get in a month of playing anyways.
Try finding actual newbish looking folks, and give stuff away at random, its kinda fun.
