You do realise that a resist bonus would mean you'd have to rep less in PvE, and thus need less cap? If the Apoc got a resist bonus I'd have died and gone to heaven. Not only would it still have enough lows to fit a sick tank (and a no-ammo cargo baby for the cap charges), 25% extra resistances across two reppers, 7500 base armor and however many plates I'd stashed on... omgdrool"

fkingfurious	Posted - 2006.07.22 20:22:00 - [40] Im not 10% sure on this ( my maths is crap) so maybe someone can confirm / deny it for me. Geddon has 7 turrets and a 5% RoF bonus. Apoc has 8 turrets no bonus. Assuming that a 5% RoF bonus is directly comparable to a 5% Damage bonus ( Which is by no means guaranteed) by my sums a geddon with 7 dual heavy beam ( for example) and no damage mods doesnt start to outdamage an apoc with 8 dual heavy beam untill u have bs lvl3. So at bs lvl5 ur looking at <15% more damage for Geddon vs Apoc. Its actually less because u get more more benfit for ur gunnery skills on an apocs 8 turrets than u do a Geddons 7. ( Ur skills are aplied to 8 turrets not 7). Ofc my maths could be off but i'm fairly sure its not. If I'm right than the whole "Apoc is rubbish" thing is possibly slightly exaggerated. Geddon gets mebbe 13% greater damage at the expense of grid/armour/cap. Just a thought

When a geddon approaches I expect the need to turn on the armor hardeners and do alot of repairing. When an Apoc approaches I expect it to either be a dot 200km away melting me with tachyons, or be the toughest tank this side of a capital ship. Now and again someone surprises me with an off-the-wall setup. Besides being rock solid, the Apoc has tremendous utility value with its bottomless cap. Sure that's not a huge difference. But hello? how long have you flown Amarr? ALL their ships are no-nonsense hard hitters or lumps of bulletproof stuff. Amarr does what it says on the tin.
