To you all, congratulations. It was a fantastic event, amde so by the participation of 40 fantastic teams, regardless of the fact that some may have been perceived as more fantastic than others.
To those that turned up and played I offer my applause, especially to those knowing they may not have a great chance of getting extremely far. Big props also go to ISS and POS for fielding a team in a pvp enviroment, when they are both known primarily for other aspects of the game.
Also a huge thank you goes to Morsus Mihi, who not only did very very well in regards to their progression in the event, but took the whole initial misunderstanding and eventual joking about their status as RPers and LARPers with good humour. It is important to note that they are NOT an RP alliance, though they have from time to time been known to watch a Star Trek DVD.
Congratulations go of course to all teams that made it to the Sunday, and especially ASCN, MC, IAC and of course the victors BOB, who can now adda nother mothership to their growing pile of as-yet-unused capitals.
A cheer also for Pure who obviously had issues fielding a team, but turned up in an AF for at least a fight - it was gtood to see you there
To those that didnt turn up, and/or dropped out, let us not name names, we know who you are, and some of you may have even had valid reasons. It's a pity it happened, but rest assured next time you'll be ~1bn out of pocket if you try that again.
thanks to all, see you next time

Thanks back to the EVE-TV crew and CCP for putting together this fantastic event and them making it available to everyone in real time. The tournament would be a tiny fraction of its self if we had to read about the results the next day on the web. Keep up the great work!

Thanks goes to Eve Radio and CCP for EVE-TV and the Tournament. You guys have broken virgin terrority with ingame live broadcast of game events in a MMORG. This appears to be a first in the industry and this event will send shock waves through the entire gaming world. EVE can say they are leaders in the MMORG genre.
Thanks to all corps who provided your ships and isk for our entertainment. This felt like a Superbowl event.
Lets do this again.

I loved the eve-tv broadcast. more of this please. When will we see eve-tv reporting live from gatecamps and fleet battles around the galaxy? :-D With the new ingame voice client we can even get live interview of random pirate victim #138. That would be good TV :-D Oh , and get the dev team to make you a new client that show how many and what type of drone each player targeted have deployed. (hell , make that in our standard client). The long tank fights would have been a lot more fun then.

Well, we will consider participation if same rule of 5+1 will still be in place. This is game, not a RL. RL comes first, even if CCP wants take over our lives with whole world :)

Yes, RL comes first.. But what about the RL of the thousands of people sitting in front of a computer waiting to watch a fight (for Aussies, we were up at 2am for the fights, only to find out people were no shows).
This is not aimed at IRON btw. But it certainly is aimed at some of the other participants

Props to the people who organized the event. This format was much more interesting than the last.
Props to the people who brought us EVE TV. That just rocked. I couldn't believe the amount of time I spent watching "TV" relating to a game...but it definitely added something special to following the tournament that was not present for the previous tournament. Being able to just listen to commentary on EVE Radio wasn't that great. The telecast should be commended for how good it was for a first run. I didn't think that some of the "color commentators" that sat on the "couch" added much value and I felt they were a little too partisan for that forum, but whatever. It was easy enough to ignore them.
The whole Morsus Mihi "RP/LARP" thing was a little amusing...a very little.
Props to the Morsus Mihi team for doing the alliance proud. We weren't the richest...the losses hurt...we didn't have everyone fitted with pirate implants, etc...but I think we got the most out of what we brought to the table. A bad break vs. IAC ended it all too quickly...heheh.
Mad props to BoB for yet again proving they are the best at what they do. Overcoming adversity at a crucial time and seemingly always having everything squared away and under control yet again is amazing. I thought you guys were done for when the scimitar dropped. Silly me.
A shout-out goes out to The SUdden Death Squad Alliance. I thought it was interesting that we have been fighting tooth and nail in Nalvula and also got pitted against each other in group play. Good fights in both arenas, guys.
Zero props for people who signed up but didn't show up. It was hard to believe that BoB was actually only fighting their third match when we got to the elimination rounds. Frankly, they probably would have spenaked everyone anyway, but they certainly should have had to work for it, in my view. I'm sure they would have preferred to blow more stuff up, too. Zero props for people who threw matches in the hope of getting better match ups later on...or for whatever reason they didn't give matches their all. Zero props to those "alliances" that didn't even bother (you know who you are and frankly, you sohuld be ashamed). Zero props for alliances that were created just for the tournament. You may have been skilled pilots, but the premise of your existance was bogus in my view.
All in all...an entertaining tournament. I'm looking forward to the next one...even if it does, in the end, always seem to just toss another mothership to BoB...lol.

Much respect, adulation and whatnot for all involved that helped making this an event that sets EVE apart from the rest.
from 3FA: Hats off to NORAD, Goons, OXIDE and MC.
and <3 LV and Enslaver.
But yeah. Kickass job @ the commentators and experts. I just hope we entertained, and I hope everyone else had fun.
And to second MM's comments; It's fun for us poor people to play along and see how long we can take it. Faction battleships? Pirate implants? Bah. next time. Maybe.
Rock on for all of y'all :D

I sat there and thought that we needed more info on screen too.
But then I realised that info like the above, and quite a few other nice to haves, would be an immense help to the opposing team.
To Spiraljunkie and crew: Most excellent job. A little less reruns of the pre prods and an expert to assist the two motormouths would have been nice, but nothing can really take anything away from the fact that this was groundbreaking and utterly cool.

I would also like to thank everyone involved, all of us in the GoonSwarm team had great fun participating. This even though i lost 3 command ships, a full implant set, a brutix, and a shuttle. You can be sure we're turning up next time too, possibly with even more losses!
