What do you care, as long as the forums come back, Im sure you wouldnt even notice the server status. HK, you are so funny paying a monthly fee to use these forums :P
Anyway, any chance we could get some more info on Kali 1, or is that just silly of me to ask, as "soon" and "we hope" will be the answers?

well a few points the more downtimes have also mirrored quite abit of ingame growth as well as vast improvements to the game both in performance and depth
SO CCP longer and more consistant downtimes are ok as long as it leads to improvements of a valuable nature
5 hour database maintence - my guess is more t2 BPOs being seeded and some new skills and maybe ships

Thank you for timing this downtime perfectly! I'll be home from work just as the servers go back live. There's even room for 1 hour extended downtime if needed.

First Tuesday of every month is an extended downtime and has been for a long time.
We need to do maintenance that takes at least 3 hours once a month to make sure that the database is at peak performance and that there is room for growth. The downtimes have been longer lately, mostly due to the fast growth of EVE. We are however always working on trying to decrease the time needed for this and I try to do as much as I can in every daily downtime to decrease the time needed in the extended downtimes. ------ Valar Database admin - Server operations team CCP Games How to write a good bugreport |

AMATEURS.
For the money they get each month in subs this is a DISGRACE and to be EMBARASSED about for the level of service they provide. Not to mention they still havnt closed my damn account I cancelled.
They brag and spout on how much Eve is more scalable and can handle so mannnnny players blah blah and they pat themselves on the back day in day out like a Microsoft middle manager sending "Great job teams!" emails to earn his bonus and yet they cant run a damn server farm without downtimes here downtimes there.. Excuse me while I IGNORE YOUR BORING AS HELL "But its only 20 mins per month" fanboi replies. OPEN YOUR EYES. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF AMATEURS MILKING YOU.
What they need is a REMINDER of what we give them.. MONEY.
You may be afraid to say it but I sure and hell am not.
AMATEURS and giving the way you handled my account, YOU ARE A BUNCH OF CON ARTISTS too. ENJOY THE ******* LOVE:
You can take your tongues out of their arses you know, WE are the ones with the MONEY they want not the other way around. Last I checked, WE where the CUSTOMERs, not them.

So I take it you run a database that has 20,000+ users making hundreds of thousands of data requests every minute from databases with billions of items in them without having to do regular maintenance on it.....NO?....thought not....then kindly STUFU.

I feel like this was directed at me, so I'll humour you.
Look around and you'll quickly find that I am an ardent critic of the service I receive from CCP.
However, my reason for criticising is not to get a lame kick out of posting abusive comments (potty mouth) but rather to encourage improvement. Sometimes, it's just good to post encouragement, by way of acknowledging commitment and hard work. But then I am motivated by the fact that I care about Eve and, by extension, the ongoing work of its developers.
Now, if all I had to contribute was the kind of self-serving venom you just presented, I would consider myself to be a vacuous individual with little else better to do with my miserable life.
Oh no wait! That's you actually.
