It's an Oculus Rift launch title. :P That alone should answer your question.
The Oculus Rift doesn't have a console version planned yet. It is for the PC, though the latest SDK has MAC support as well. |

The android version of the VR headset was also just announced a week or two ago ;), it's specs are supposed to be around 2560x1440 (for the Samsung Note 4, if I remeber correct) so better than the Morpheus (unless they come to their senses and the final specs for the PS4 headset have higher resolution than 1080p).
The ~ 7850 equivalent hardware in PS4 is actually more or less enough to push 4K at ~60 FPS if you optimize the visual settings for it (For reference, a 7870 in my PC can do 120 fps in Source engine "Lost Coast" benchmark at 10 megapixels which is 25% higher than 4K resolution), the problem is the HDMI 1.4a output on PS4 which is bandwidth limited, even so I would expect the Morpheus have at least 2560x1440 resolution when it releases. Here, sanity... niiiice sanity, come to daddy... okay, that's a good sanity... *THWONK!* GOT the bastard. |
