I was on #eve-online yesterday and LeMonde said there will be a new tournament in 6 months, which is pretty cool. The idea to not allow caldari ships came up, and maybe make the teams start at a closer range to eachother.
How would you feel about having no caldari ships in the next tournament? Personally i think it would be pretty good. No longer will we see Caldari Navy Ravens (and sometimes Vultures and Nighthawks) in every team. There will be more of the other faction ships instead and give them a chance to show their worth.
Personally i like the idea, but im throwing it out there for public discussion. And dont flame ME if you dont like this. I didnt come up with the idea, I just like it.

Blocking all caldari is just sily, disallowing implants is the way to go \o/

Or allow podding. I think thats better.
Just disallowing implants could work though, if people have jump clones with no implants.

I'd like to see the hugin's web bonus be disallowed as you saw it ****** the close range ships as seen in the final.
Tbh if it wasnt allowed ACSN would of won...

If they disallow Caldari than there won't be much to laugh at... I had lots of fun watching all the Ravens shooting torps at small ships and doing no damage!

Basicly the web is the only thing preventing gallente blasters from destroying everyone else up close. So no, I think we need that one. --- Eve Wiki | Eve Tribune | Eve Pirate |

New tournament in 6 months.
There's a suprise
God forbid they might actualy divert their resources in to anything else on the scale of a large event such as
Same ol, y'know there was once a time when other things happened, the jove thing with the cloaks and the loot drop collections, the colossus.
I guess now we are just going to be stuck with a peen alliance tourny every 6 months... each one better than the last

No Caldari ships would just be not the best decision since Caldari is the race in which a lot of people have specialized. The should definately ban all Faction moduales and implants try to make it less of a competition of ISK. But Caldari Ships being banned would be odd for a Caldari Tournament even if some people consider them overpowered. However I do like the idea of making the teams start closer together.

Yes, maybe just making them start closer together would help alot with caldari always being the best choice too.

I see no good solution.
With no warp outs missiles are great compared to guns because its easier to run from guns.

No Implants for sure.
Just have have CCP provide replacement sets for folks that have to remove them.
As for gear, maybe some limit on some of the most extreme hoigh end stuff.

20km start might not be the way to go: everyone lands in insta-web range for a rapier/hug and no-one ever moves. Fun...

Leave that as it is: market modules only (except that ATM COSMOS is allowed. Deny that: the COSMOS amarr/gallente mods are so much better then the caldari/minmatar it isn't even funny)

Would be nice to see a Tournament for Solo players. As one myself i play Eve solo in no corp or Alliance. The way Eve is started to make you join Corp's and Alliances is worring me. Most of the new ships are all Gang related , with the bonus's etc...it would be nice to see someone in Eve stand up for Solo players, and have a Solo player tournemant, which anyone who belongs to a corp or Alliance within the last 6 months cannot enter. Only my 5 pence worth......

There were no faction modules in this tourney and they still won.

Perhaps in the next tournament make the following slight change?
Have the boundaries of the combat area slowly shrink after a certain amount of time.
Pros a) Those that decide to set up for a long-range fight with web support will have a chance to take their opponents out. If they do not manage this after time t the advantage should switch to the opposite side.
b) Matches would have a higher chance of a conclusion. A time limit for each match would still have to exist because each side could be trying their best to destroy the other but just not being able to supply enough dps.
Cons a) Not sure if its possible to implement within the existing (or any) client. How would the combat area be marked, for example.
b) Im sure it would favour the extreme close range and heavy tank setups. However, see a) above.
c) Would this make interesting viewing? At the end of the day people want entertaining fights (not sure if this is the breif of the PvP tournament though) - would this change provide it..?
Roll on 6 months time...

Make armour rep drones ILLEGAL!!!!
And if anyone plays like ASCN did during the finals, make them loose and kill their ships.
Pod kill should be allowed too

Perhaps their should be 2 'Leagues' (SP?): > 1; all allowed (implants, T2, Faction, etc.) > 2; T1 modules and components only.
That way the big Alliances with their 30M+ SP rich people could have their fun, and there be a league in which lower SP, poor people (like myself ) would also have a chance.
I think both would make good viewing: 1 for seeing the Behemoths slug it out, 2 for seeing some more everyday PVP like action.
Offcourse prices for 1 should be higher then 2.

I dont think its that great of an idea, only because ASCN who finished second fought all their matches almost exclusive Gallente, so it wasnt like a total Caldari ship pwn-fest. As a matter of fact the BoB Caldari heavy team couldnt beat the ASCN Gallente heavy team, and ASCN couldnt break BoB's tank either, thats why they had the 'ceptor tie-breaker fight.
Besides that it doesnt make much sense to have the Caldari Championship Fights without Caldari ships.

I would prefer to see some variation from the 3v3 or 5v5, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with them but some variation would be cool.
Such as a "king of space" (a bit like the king of the ring) whereby 1 champion from each alliance all fight it out all at the same time in a "last man standing, winner takes all" stylee. All in AFs would be cool, where the winner gets a nice faction ship, Jove frigate anyone??!! :)
