Yesterday evening a CCP employee (Sharkbait) encouraged web defacements on a website EVE Information Wiki as an attempt to try to shut down this wiki with EVE technical information.
He then proceeded to abuse a customer on the forum by editing their post and then tried to cover up this by removning it but on the site attacked there is an image of his abuse.
What does CCP have to say about his support and active encouragement of web defacements? CCP has been notified and awaiting a response and so has the various ISP's involved.

Yup, website defeced and encouraged by developer Sharkbait. Sad sad state of affairs when a company has to abuse customers who take a technical interest in the game and post it on a website.

'Space Gurl', hmm, why does that name set my troll-detector off?
edit: That link is pathetic.
'Cyber vandalism'? God, that site's author is a freaking moron. I'm curious to know what sSpace troll said before it got modded, because as you can see from the pre-'vandalism'( ), a beatdown was incoming.

Posting eve technical info to an eve info site? This is bad?
Sorry, but you're not making a huge aount of sense here. ----------------------

Your personal views does not mean you have the right to attack somebodys site. Are you actually saying you support such actions?

Do you have any evidence that Sharkie did anything but ban a ridiculously annoying troll? Any evidence at all? The tiniest little scrap will do.

As you can see clearly on the website an image of his immaturity on the forums by editing customers posts to make them say something they did not say and encouraging childish behaviour by defacements which soon followed from various IP's which have been reported to CCP and the appropriate ISP abuse contacts.
I do expect many people who are fans of Eve will stand out in support of such attacks. Sad day for the EVE community I think when such defacements take place in the name of "support".
Everybody is entitled to their views but enforcing them by WEB DEFACEMENTS is not to way to go about it.

I have no idea about the other situations involved, but have a look at Space Gurl's posting history, and you will most likely totally agree with Sharkbait's modification.

Sharkbait edited the text of that post to be very much in line with SpaceGurl's previous trolling history. Nothing wrong with that.

The history logs and the image of Sharkbait encouraging "editing" of items to make somebody say "I suck" (in the image at the bottom of the web site and the first post). He also removed the thread to cover it up so he does not look so IMMATURE. I think it says alot. Ofcourse if you want to be blinkered, that is up to you. The appropriate action has been taken.

You do know what a wiki is right?
You do? Good, then I don't have to explain to you how pathetic whining about a puublicly modable site is.
Or are you going to try and argue that I 'vandalized' wikipedia when I edited the scientology entry to include links to articles dealing with people their members have killed (which got modded at an insane speed).
Do I support the idea of a publicly editable site being edited by anyone? You bet I do. I think public wikis are nothing short of retarded, and people don't realize most entries in wikis are biased and often inaccurate.
I'm curious, is Sharkbait 'zorck' and if so, how do you know this? That website's 'history' is about as clear as a lead shield in showing his 'guilt'.

A Wiki yes for editing for the topic, clearly in the LOGS it shows NEGATIVE DEFACEMENT for the purpose of HARASSMENT. Thank you. Nice try but no dice.
The wiki was locked down at a later point so nobody could edit but they continued to hack it via whatever means and tried to remove the history logging.

Which prompted the defacement of the wiki as it openly encouraged tampering and negative editing. He should be more careful of his actions in a community if minors who see such actions as a way to release their tantrums.

That is your opinion, CCP has been informed and the relevant ISP's have been notified of the offending IP's.

The original post read as simply a link to the site, now taken down. The site contained information about the deconstruction of the eve client, in a way which, if used for any purpose (or maybe even by just existing) is a breach of the EULA.
Also, I wholeheartedly support the banning of the person responsible for thest posts: Linkage Linkage Linkage Linkage Linkage, removed from the official forum

You know what, ignore my previous posts.
You LauraBells, are a moron. I'll leave it at that.
SpaceGurl is nothing but a trolling alt, and while I have stron reason to believe that you're SpaceGurl, with a bruised, troll-like ego, I honestly don't care anymore for your opinion about him.
SpaceGurl's a moron and a troll, and that site you link to has no proof of any damage done to it by CCP.
You're doing nothing but slandering Shark and CCP. I completely support any modding shark did to Spacegurl's forum post, and TBH, I wish the forum mods would do it to trolling alts to make them look like the asses they are.
Now, unless you have more than a very funny edit to a troll's thread, or a wiki whose color scheme hurts my eyes and a usless history, to show CCP 'vandalism', STFU.
