Right, i can use all t2 drones / all t2 hybrid guns / t2 reps / t2 hardeners etcetc
Isk isnt a huge issue but i can't afford Corpum A-Type Rep/Corpum A-Type Hardeners... so please dont go extreme...
Just a t2 fitting would be nice if it will handle a level4... (obviously not worlds collide or extrav's)

I don't think you need all of those cap mods. You're only looking at about 28 cap need per second, and that setup seems to give you nearly 39-40 peak recharge. |

Take one CPR away, fit something useful like EANMII there, take the other CPR away and replace it with named CPR (I personally like Type-D's). It doesn't matter which one actually since they all have the same stats. ________________________________________________

I'm not sure that tank will cut it in all of the harder missions, you may be better off with a dual MarII tank, you will need to drop the blasters to fit that and you will find a large cap battery gives you a better recharge rate than a cap recharger

Edited by: Theron Gyrow on 31/07/2006 08:45:06 If you're going against Serp/Guristas, the following soloes level 4 Worlds Collide with no warpouts (for the first area I prefer to use a Mega):
2-3*whatever fits (I use small lasers) 2*med nos 0-1*tractor beam
10MN AB2 Omnidirectional tracking link web cap recharger target painter
T2 med repper 2*T2 hardener 800mm T2 plate CPR
Small guns + T2 Hammerheads with the tracking link kill painted+webbed interceptors really nicely, T2 Ogres kill everything else. If there are some long-range rats close to an unaggroed group, it's a good idea to use long-range sentries.
Get distance if possible, aggro interceptors and kill them. When webbed you may get more damage than you can repair, but after those are dead you can just orbit BSs with AB on, suck energy to replenish your cap and kill with your drones.
For non-Serp/Gurista missions, I'd use a third hardener in place of CPR, probably drop a webber for a cap recharger and carry a set of lights if you expect problems with fast ships. If you're running out of CPU, downgrade guns first.
<edit> Oh, and carry an armor repping drone with you to fix other drones as needed.

Although I prefer doing lvl4s in a Domi, I have recently started experimenting with Ishtar, and here are my thoughts on it. Take it with a grain of salt because my Ishtar experience is not very long yet.
Ishtar already has too few slots for armor tank, so I can't believe people actually waste them for cprs... Anyway I'd suggest 2 t2 reps, or 1 mar+1 sar, or 1 a-type. Rest lows are for hardeners, and maybe a plate.
Meds: cap booster. Works much better than on domi. You can bring 23 of booster400, each restores about half of total cap. Electrochemical cap booster holds exactly 2 of 400s, and has cycle of 12 sec. t2 med booster holds 5 of 200s and has 15 sec cycle. I'm not sure yet which is best... Other meds - web, afterburner, omnidirectional tracking links (mainly for sentries), maybe drone navigation computer (useful for those armas orbiting at 400m/s, which drones can't catch up with to maintain their optimal).
Highs. probably blasters won't fit with the above so the best you can go with is probably dual 150mm... well, it's ok for the inties provided that you've got a webber. Drone link aug might be useful if you like Warden sentry drones, otherwise it's pretty useless. Nos probably won't fit :(

High = 3x T2 light neatron blasters(null), 2x med NOS Mid = T2 10mn AB, 4x cap rechargers Low = 2x T2 med armour rep, 3x Active hardeners
My main damage comes from T2 drones, specific damage as per npc type. Yes some missions might agro if u launch drones, but if u put enough distance between yourself and the closest group b4 firing 1 blaster at closest target to agro. Haven't tried Worlds Colide, Angel Extra, Midst of Space, or any REALLY difficult missions. ############################To Infinity... ....and back before lunch

small Gistii A-type small shield booster reps the same as a MAR t2, I recommend fitting 2 of these in the mids, as well as a cap injector. Not only does it rep the same, it reps in quicker incrments.
Highs: 3 Heavy Ion t2 , 2 Med Nos
Mid slots: 2 gistii a-types shield thingys, med cap injector named, The last slot is dedicated to the most dmg done on that perticular mission.
Lows: 4 CPR, DMG cntrl. <-- for the tough but unavoidable situations, the dmg cntrl is a unbeatable.
Should all fit, its been a while tho so i'm a bit rusty with this ship.

1) Ishtar has 5 med slots, not 4. 2) Why on earth would you put 4 cap power relays on a shield tanked ship, especially if youre giving up on normal cap recharge and running an injector anyway ?
I do agree though that gisti shield boosters rock. Rather than 2 smalls though, you might try 1 large. I havent actually tried fitting the large gisti on my ishtar, but I use it on my arazu for rat hunting and it fits no problem.

Anyone succesfully doing lvl 4 missions with an ishtar?
got me corum rep, and some badass passive plates, hac 5 and about 30 mil sp to allow me to fly this baby perfectly. But i'm skittish about trying lvl4 with it.
Should i just fit a domi for lvl4 and not bother with ishtar for them?? |

I think your fittings pretty sound. id maybe use a web or target painter in mids to assist tracking /damage.
When you have more isk and want to pimp it id recommend -
1. 10mn gisti / domination ab (more efficient and faster) -price unknown. 2. corpum / centus passive armour plates ( if you train specific armour compenstaion to level 5 their the same as t2 actives) = 30-40m / unit. 3. true sansha / dark blood cpr - 25% recharge instead of 20, they make a difference - around 80-90 mill / unit. 4. true sansha / dark blod eanm. better than t2 -around 50 mill / unit. 5.domination web , 90% at 15km . 180mill / unit. 6. true sansha / dark blood med armour rep. slightly better statsthan t2 aand fit like t1 - circa 50 mill.

I have done few lvl 4 missions (Gurista Extravaganza also) with Ishtar and somewhat like this setup: 3x 200mm Railgun II 1x Tractor Beam 1x Drone Link Augmentor
1x Afterburner 3x Cap Recharger
2x MAR II 2x Rat Hardeners 1x Cap Power Relay
I'm not 100% sure about the med/low slot count but this setup can run both reppers all the time. Gives a very nice tank to take aggro from many rats.

Dual MAR IIs, Hardeners in low. AB and Cap rechargers in mid, some nos and blasters in high would make sense to me.
Ishtar needs the dual MAR for sure, it doesn't have enough armour to buffer tank. ---

::::BEST SETUP EVER FOR MISSIONS::::
HI SLOTS: 3x 150mm Railgun II (antimatter), 1x tractor beam I, 1x salvager device
MID SLOTS: 1x 10mn Afterburner II, 4x Cap Recharger II
LOW SLOTS: Centum A-Type Armor Repairer, 1x Energized Adaptive NanoMembrane II, 1x Active Hardener, 1x Active Hardener, and finally 1x 1600mm Rolled Tungsten I
RIG SLOTS: 1x Armor Amount Bonus, 1x Rep duration reduction bonus
This setup will give you 7,200 armor hitpoints with the resists to back it. The centum repper will give you about 538 reppage every 7.5 seconds and you should be able to sustain the afterburner and repper forever if you arent getting nossed by those amarr missions. To explain some of the purposes of each module: 3 guns for popping smaller frigates and getting aggro... get aggro from a distance. The afterburner is for keeping your distance and of course a small speed tank (large bs cant track you and you dont get hit). The 1600mm plate is a buffer for ,in the unlikely chance you lose your tank, you have 7 k armor. Everything else is self explanatory... Even if this setup is a bit expensive it is probably the best setup ive come up with.
Hope this helps

highs: one med nos and whatever else fits (highs arent important here, you wont use them, your drones are) meds: 4x large shield extender 2's, 1x invul field lows: 5x shield power relays t2
rigs: 2x purge
try it on test if you dont believe me. You can just warp in, aggro everything and let your drones kill stuff while you watch a movie or something

Strangely, with drones ships I find that the "aggro everything" part is the hardest part of the npc encounter. --- Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. - Emerson |

I use:
3 light ion blasters 1 salvager 1 drone link aug
1 Gist A type 1 DG shield boost amp 1 AB II 2 hardners of choice
3 dark blood cap relays 2 overdrives
2 CCC rigs
Gives me 800 m/s so i can speed tank the battleships and the tank is pretty mean anyways. Blasters are not really needed but are a decent anti frig / agro creator.
Tanks nice, all mods run forever, not rediculously expensive (500 milish).
You could probably lose one of the CCC rigs but tbh theres nothing you'll really need. Drone damage etc is always decent especially if your t2.
you can pretty much afk most missions with this. its just a matter of tanking till the webbers are dead and then you can range / speed tank everything else. drone bay alows you to switch out so you can pick damage type and pick drone size. Bit like a raven with the ability to switch from cruise to heavies to lights.
Speed in missions for me = win as loot picking and salvaging is a pain without it, not to mention moving to far away gates. I am also personally a fan of tanks you can turn on and forget about. If you wanna go faction hardner thats upto you but tbh only realy em that would need it (which just happens to be the cheapest).

Right, I mission run in an ishtar and I would drop all weapons in your highs if you dont have spare grid, I have an afterburner II and go at 550m/s and stay at 70km away, with one drone control unit you can stay away from a lot of damage. My setup is usually:
High 2 x 125mm rails 1 x Drone control unit
Mid 2 x Cap recharger II 1 x 10MN AB II 1 x Omni tracking link I 1 x Drone Nav I
Low 1 x Medium rep II 1 x primary mission hardening 1 x Tech II EANM 1 x secondary mission damage ENM 1 x primary mission damage ENM
Depending on the mission damage types this could change. This is a non cap intensive setup, you can keep the AB/hardner running all the time and rep still quite often, you want to stay away at speed to take advantage of your size, otherwise stick with a domi.
PS. This setup works without rigs, a couple of Cap rigs would likely let you run the repper as well.

Only thing I remember about Ishtar + LVL 4's is that I used to do Guristas Extravaganza with Dual Rep setup Ishtar.
No chance the tank would have held if I didnt use Dual Rep, but it might be different with rigs now. ---
