Im a freelance 3d artist and ive been doing a bit of Eve inspired CGI in my spare time. Unfortunatley I will never have to time to complete it all so Ive release what I have done so far.

If any1 from CCP sees this, I do have 9 years experience in the computer games Industry so drop me a line if u need some CGI/in game assets.
BTW all the models are copywrite of CCP games

Very nice!!! It'll be added to my vid collection!
Only thing I would question is the perceived size of the Thorax. It seems to be a bit on the small size, like a frig, when in actual reality it could probably be portrayed differently to match its true size. I can't do this stuff myself so, once again, nice freakin job!

very nice work, I would say incredible but you forgot the "rooster tail" with the water and the ship does seem a bit small, but other then that I'm really impressed, CCP should take notice.

Excellent work. My only complaint is the lack of ripple on the water but having done 3D modeling as a past hobby for a number of years making a wake is very difficicult (at least with the software I used).
I love the speed feeling you get while watching the cruiser. Much props to ya!

Whelp, in Maya it's amazingly simple... but in software like Lightwave and 3ds max... not so easy ;) Maya's fluid dynamic containers make it alot easier. ------------ Peregrinus Amarria

I did have a displacement map on the water to create a wake but my fprime renderer was not rendering it correctly. Doing it with lightwaves native renderer would have been to slow. Im brushing up on my maya and prmam atm, so watch this space.

Dear Lou ping,
Bravo.....
Nice little animation... it almost make me want to fly a thorax myself but.....
I am a true carebear at heart so i will still stick with my faithful transport and freighter ship.

I'm no expert at computer animation or anything, but that looked fairly awsome. Good job.
I wants an EVE CGI movie. A proper long one. Get to it, CCP!

Merv, you've got one comming :) I've just got a full license agreement with CCP to go ahead with it :) I'm hoping that I can get Lou to put aside some of his work for this project (He's already agreed to help where he can). Look for the offical announcement on the video forums here within a week and a half. ------------ Peregrinus Amarria

I used lightwave with the Fprime plugin renderer. Then composited the elements using After Effects.

Very nice, I'm learning to do 3D myself, how many polys is your deimos model?
I'd like to see the wireframes, if you wouldn't mind posting them here.
Keep up the good work!

You forgot the part where its tritanium breaks down in the atmosphere, and the intense heat from the friction of going 200 kilometers / second.
But to be serious, it's very awesome. The textures were very nice, as was the water.
