Hi! We are planning a mass test on Singularity on Tuesday, September 23rd, at 17:00 UTC (= EVE time).
What exactly is being tested?
- New cloaking effects
- Performance of the new way of loading ships (new Space Object Factory)
- Mac cider update
- New notification system
- General stability and performance of client and server for Oceanus
How to connect to Singularity for this test:
Test steps:
- Meet in FD-MLJ at the gate to X-BV98
- Enable new notifications
- Jump to X-BV98
- Test cloaking (spread out and cloak)
- Warp to POS beacon
- Shoot the control tower
- Align to Poitot gate
- Fleet W: Jump to Poitot and setup gate camp
- Fleet X: Jump to Poitot + fight at the gate
What else should I know?
- We will be moving players to the test system - join the channel massmoveme
- 2M Skill points will be awarded on Singularity for this mass test
- Bring as many different ships as possible. Cynos will be provided
- Fit a cloaking device, if possible

Don't get we wrong, I understand the importance of helping with the mass tests.
But I honestly feel that 2 Mil SP for use on the Singularity server isn't much of a reward at all. If you're going to gave a reward for player participation make it a reward we can benefit from and apply it to the player server. Where the 2 Mil SP would actually mean something. As a result I'm sure you'll receive a lot more participation and players will come away feeling that their time actually meant something.
All the best.

Hmm, I think the mass-tests would have a much larger turnout if they were performed on the weekends, when most people dont have jobs, school etc. CCP has some people on hand on the weekends, right? |

I agree with DEATHS PHOENIX point 100%. Weekend or weekday, the participation will be greatly increased if Prod environment skill rewards were awarded. |

Sorry I'll be working at this hour, I cannot play at that time during the weeks. Otherwise, I already have my Singy setup so I would be more than willing to help with this matter. Good luck anyway. |

This was already discussed a million times. The number of players is totaly fine. We had ~400 in the last mass test. Skillpoints on TQ will never happen, because the mass test is just for testing and not to gain some kind of advantage on TQ. If you don't want to participate, because the "reward" is not enough for you, then just don't participate. -Æ-ï-¦-+-Ç-ï! -Æ-ï-¦-+-Ç-ï! -Ü-¦-+-¦-+-¦-¦-é-ï - -+-+-¦-+-Ç-ï! | -ô-¦-+-¦-+-¦-¦-+-¦ |

Well I'm discussing it 1 million and 1. So scamper away you silly Troll. Its not about having an advantage in TQ its about having respect for someone's time. Everyone here pays to play and we invest a heck of a lot of time in game waiting for skill ques to finish which never seems to happen until the next subscription payment is due once you hit the level 5s and in some cases they go longer then that.
If CCP needs help tweaking things so that they can introduce new crap while everything that's broken doesn't get fixed then I think they should give back a little and stop offering crap you'll never be able to use in TQ. |

Regarding rewards/incentives for helping in mass test:
The 2M skill points on Singularity per mass test are working pretty well and are anticipated by quite a few players (but for sure not by all). I am not against changing the rewards, but so far I am not really seeing the need for it.
Possible rewards would be (mostly) restricted to Singularity. Everything from items to skills and skill points are possible there. The only thing I could imagine for TQ would be some kind of medal "I helped in a mass test", but I am not sure on how this would work for attending multiple mass tests - and I have not heard anybody being interested in this so far. Giving skills or items on TQ is not possible, as nothing on test servers should give you a direct benefit on TQ.
Why 2 million and not 20? In my opinion 2 million skill points are enough to make a difference (at least for most skills) and they are not too much to make the next 2 million worthless (and we want to provide incentives for helping in more than one mass test). 20 million already give you enough skill points, that you might not want another 20 million skill points for your specific testing / play-style on Singularity. This is for sure something to discuss, if many of you think that 2M is too low. CCP Habakuk | EVE Quality Assurance | Team Gridlock-á Bug reporting | Mass Testing |

How about a physical reward?
50 mass-tests in a row gets you a t-shirt with a coffee stain and some autographs on it! 100 gets you a cookie mailed to you give or take a year.
Seriously though, for some players with higher SP, 2 mil sometimes doesn't really feel like a lot. On the other hand, it adds up after a few tests but might not stretch as far as we'd like it.
I'd be up for an increase, but a reasonable one. Not something that would land every player who attended 1 test flying max skilled marauders or something ridiculous. |

I feel that if the rewards were changed so that it was dependent on the player themselves, such as 2m sp is the base amount and then add 5% of the player's current SP in, so that if a player has 40m sp they'd get 2m base and 2m from having 40m SP.
And as for a reward in TQ, I feel anything too big would seriously cause disruption for those who want to come to mass tests but can't because of work or school, so I'd suggest something like 5m isk. Yes, it isn't a lot for those who are well established, but this could bring in some newer players and give them a decent boost in EVE. |

I would love a bit more SP from tests, or more masstests stacking their rewards(Why not both? :P) but the 2m per masstest/10m mirror limit is the incentive for me personally to join these tests, that I get to possibly help CCP in the process is just an added bonus.(Or was, I am taking a break from EVE)

I have to agree that the timing of the mass test limits the ability to join. Myself, I've missed the past two because it is impossible to get a moment away to join. No matter what time its set to or day, someone will not be able to attend, therefore I think the weekends would be nice.
As far as the rewards go, I'm mixed on the idea. For some that are pushing upwards of 100m, 2m is not really much.
It would be nice to have 5m distributed to each account at the start of the new mirror. Then perhaps as you participate you get 2m Sp and perhaps a token that allows you to buy something off a special shop. Maybe 5 tokens for a dread or something ... or 5 tokens for an implant that reduced time/material to build one by 50% ... I dunno, just throwing out ideas.... |

To Devs,
I take my hat off to the new cloaking effect, its quite amazing effect. The bubble effect makes it stand out when it goes from the inside to outer of ship and reverse effect when un-cloaking.
Look forward to see this on Tranquility server.
Well done :)

i prefer singularity masstesting rewards as follows
3mill sp - better than 2 mill and you can get to freighter/rorqual in 1 masstest rare ship as reward - you chose which one i.e imperial armageddon/apocalypse utu etc. standing boost to test future burner missions updates |

I think everyone who is saying the 2 million skillpoints aren't enough... are overlooking something. We should be thankful there's any sort of reward at all because CCP doesn't HAVE to give us anything in return for our assistance in testing new features/stability/etc. The opportunity to get a "sneak-peek" at and comment on what the devs are working on at various points along the way before those changes are implemented on TQ is more than enough in my eyes. Yes, absolutely, I'd love to get into and experiment with capital ships and do the various testing with them that I want to do... But patience is a virtue. Everyone always wants more, more and more, but take a step back for a moment and look at all of the benefits you're getting out of it.

Does the in-game time show incorrect times sometimes? I checked both TQ and SiSi clocks before I set my alarm. It was 9:00 UTC and 7:00 EST. I came back to the computer at 15:00 EST, 8 hours later, figuring in-game 8 hours would have advanced, and it was instead 19:00. I've yet to see a mass test. One huge flaw of growing up in the states, I suppose, is when tired my ability to understand military time goes out the window. Noted for the future that UTC is 4 hours ahead of EST (if 19:00 is indeed correct in game).
Anyway, maybe the incorrect thread, but the overall point of this post: does the in-game time just show incorrectly at times? |

Thats Awesome, but I never got my SP for the 23rd. Im guessing because there was no survey this time that some of us may have been over looked.
