Including a 17 billion carrier this weekend. One pirate bragged a net profit of 1.5 billion over 2 days.
Tactics used include gate camping, with trial account alts scouting the system on the safe side; scan probes to jump high level mission players; belt hopping to pick off mining cruisers and barges, etc.,.
Their ships of choice are t2 frigates for their scouts, BS for their haulers/scramblers, and t2 cruisers/HACs.
From billions worth motherships down to 8000 isk shuttles, players have been podded and downed left and right.
Some of the most active pirates in Gyerzen are: Aurorapro, Lord Gank, Nephlite, Arabian Goggle, and Mar Idoun.
Any anti pirates care to hang out down at the bottom of Amarrian space for a while?
For everyone else based in tash murkon, watch out for the 40.0z corp.

Everyone likes gyerzen because they get low sec rewards with none of the risk as its surrounded by high sec space.
All I can say is, HAH. HAH. Go mission somewhere dangerous like the rest of the low sec mission runners. (I mission in Curse ftw)

Are you really confirming a pirate downing of a mothership?
If so, in all honesty, kudos to the pirates! Usually, people are complaining that pirates are taking down easy targets (which they have to to stay in business for much of the time). Taking down a mothership would be pure class.

Systems like Gyerzen are transition pockets where week old players can check out the game and learn before devoting to low sec space.
Do you really expect these newbie miners and pilots able to go straight from tutorial to low sec mission runners?

It'd be easy to take anyone down with surprise and energy/armor already depleted. Level 4 missions can take a long time, long enough for a pirate to scan probe your location apparently.

How in the hell do you lose a mothership in empire? I am serriously doubting this, and the thread looks like an alt posting on behalf of some pirates to inflate their egos.

Yes, along with several billion in POS structures and over twenty billion for the components. I highly doubt anybody lost a mothership here =/

Lost a mothership?
No, there'd be DOZENS of forum treads about it.
Carrier? Possibly.
A 17BILLION isk carrier?
I doubt that. You're talking about what is most likely an officer/faction fitted ship, and a Capship with officer fittings would be insanely powerful, and take ages to kill without alot of firepower.
1.5bil profit in 2 days tho? I'm in the wrong business.

With a system like gyerzen it was only a matter of time before it was pirated. Because it is surrounded by high sec space it gives the residents there a sense of safety you don't get in many other low sec systems and so there are plenty of easy pickings.
Well there used to be anyway, if the area gets pirated to heavily people will just move on.

Well our corp Nordic Freelancers Inc where wardecced by Lord Gank and his friends less than a week ago, our corp does not have any pvp experience to speak of but hell .. we take a challenge and when the wardec came in people in the corp went "Great, now where did I put that ship..."
So far we have lost 2 battleships, we lost 1 scorpion to a carrier (friends or alt of Lord Gank and his friends, TAOSP) well no problem, it is low sec and anyone that wish to attack can do just so. We have never encountered a carrier like this before and well lesson learned Second ship we lost where a Typhoon wich was lost due to communicationfailure where it ended up alone at the gate in Dabrid and got attacked by 2 from Lord Ganks corp, once they had popped it and 2 more from our corp warped in they ran away.
Anyway ... lessons is learned here, the war did unite the corp more and people are willing to learn. ---------------------------------------------- "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things." 1 cor. |

TAOSP you guys owe me 66 million isk for the repairs I had to do on my Freighter you shot at in Gyerzen!!! and even have the nerves to demand ransom for safepassage.
Ofcourse I can't trust you guys, after all bumping me so I could not warp out, or dock where not enough you had to try and kill me wich you failed to do!!! and thank god for that where items worth 2 billion isk or more in that one.
Only reason you guys wanted a ransom was because you failed to kill me, and did make comments about you where determend or could be very determend to not let my Freighter out of Gyerzen... You even failed in that task as well!!! Freighter is out of Gyerzen.
BTW.. you owe me a new pair of pants too, think I almost **** myself that night!!!!

And there I was thinking that people stuck around in Gyerzen in their Apocalypse Navy Issues, Machariels, Archons, etc because it had one of the best level 4 agents for the Amarr Navy.

as you can see they got a bit of help and an archon, a vindicator and some mission rats can kill an archon pretty easily

Judging by the fact it had fighters in the bay, they might have been worried about getting ganked while trying.
