Hi everyone, quite some time ago I made a printable cheat sheet for the damage types of the major NPC factions you can encounter. I've updated it again and thought I'd share.
Features:
- NPC Damage Types
- NPC Weaknesses (primary & secondary)
- Drones to use (primary & secondary)
- Countermeasures for electronic warfare
- Alternate compact versions
- Easy printing with PDF format
It exists in three variants:
- "Regular", with all information
- "Compact", without the drones block
- "Pure", without drones or countermeasures
You can download it from its official site:
http://www.aeonoftime.com/EVE_Online_Tools/EVE-NPC-Damage-Types-Cheat-Sheet
Thanks for reading!

Heh, that's flattering! I didn't see any myself so far :| If you see some who use an older link, I would definitely appreciate if you can give out the new link. I made the dedicated site especially to have one official download location to keep track of changes.

That's definitely a good one.
Yourmoney Mywallet wrote:He's not talking about your chart, specifically. He's talking about all those guys who have the NPC damage types listed in their bio. Which is about, well,... about half the people whos bio i have glanced at.
Aye, thanks for hitting me over the head with the obvious - I need a fix of coffee. NOW. |

I was a bit surprised as well, but kinetic is better only for a small margin (around 2% in my tests), so you can actually shoot either with the same success. As the distribution is not the same for all ship classes (cruiser / battleship), some will go down more easily either with kinetic or em, but the overall average is more in favor of kinetic.
Lothras Andastar wrote:Question though, did you account for the fact that thermal drones do more damage, especially in the case of sansha and blood.
With the drone revamp they did lately, gallente drones are not the "one drone to rule them all" kind of deal anymore, so I decided it would be better in the sheet to show the intended drones for the primary weakness. Of course gallente drones are still a good option, since many NPCs have their secondary weakness to thermal - it's up to you to decide if you want to be lazy or micromanage a bit more. Personally I found that carrying a wider selection of drones can be quite fun :)
DeMichael Crimson wrote:Any chance of including the other mission NPC type's such as the Empire Factions, Concord, etc?
The sheet is primarily targeted at mission runners, which is why I left those out. I would consider making a PvP sheet though, which lists the factions / entities you can come up against. My only problem for that would be that I don't PvP myself, so I am not familiar with the kind of information that would be useful in a cheat sheet. Maybe you could give me some pointers? |

Ah, true - I usually avoid those because of the standings hit. But you are right, they should be in there - especially since quite a number of COSMOS missions also have faction NPCs. I will have to rework the sheet a bit to make space for them, I will schedule that for the next version. |

Thanks for the tip, I will :)
Lady Naween wrote:since this is a bit different then many other such charts I seen, what did you base it on? Not that I am doubting you one bit, i am just curious.
It took quite a bit of research - most of it is compiling the average damage by rat types using NPC databases like Elfarto's or Grismar's. I've been working on my own toolset to extract this information directly out of an EVE Database dump though, because it's a lot of work this way. It should be more precise then as well, not to mention a lot easier to update if CCP adjust the NPCs.
Lady Naween wrote:and is it possible to just get it in numbers? for instance you dont show the full gurista profile (for say adding to pyfa/'eft)
Hmmm, that's something I could add as a separate download / page. I will just have to check how pyfa stores this to provide the correct format. |
