You fly a deck made to kamikaze a base without any means of stopping it.
You evil man.

Building a Minmatar deck myself atm - but an opponent is some days away. So while I have time to improve:
Meph, do you care to speculate on having less variation in that deck - if it was in your process or not at some point?
How do you think a card/cards like War Tattoos would work in that deck?

Would it not be better to be able to play more news cards that allow you to pull a cards from the scrap heap, with kamakazie, I thought that would be really helpful.
"Whaaa!! You die!!" "Yeah, so do you!!"
"And I play this card which lets me get my card back from teh scrapheap"
"oh crap..."

Sansha's Nation is your friend there. Costs 1 to put out, if you have a scout on hand you can deploy and control that from round 1.

Actually, when building a deck, I normally start by taking every card I want, then removing things down to a reasonable number. Then I'll play a few games with the expanded deck, and remove from it those things I dont find useful or fit in with the way the deck ends up playing. Not very scientific I'll admit .
As for cards to retrieve ships from the scrap heap, I'm still considering it. May switch to Sansha's Nation as Oveur suggests, or I may go for a couple of Salvage Drones news cards. Needs thought.

That's how I make all my tournament decks
I'm a little worried as to how to counter this. I'm writing an article on dealing with kamikaze decks... but I hadn't really thought about kamikaze battleships

Edited by: Ishana on 09/08/2006 13:21:32 I have to say that this would be a very hard tactic to beat... 1v1 Maybe even imballanced?
In multiplayer games though it wouldn;t stand a chance since you would be able to kill one player and then get zerged by the other player(s), since you don't have any ships left.
My first minmatar deck is made for 4 player games, and uses the ambush ability. (just need to test it ) _________________________________________________________

Edited by: Trak Cranker on 09/08/2006 14:39:37 I don't trust that it is so effective until I have seen it in play. You won't kill a starbase with dead ships. And I am pretty sure the kamikaze effect is written as only to be applicable to ships? Dont have the cards here though.
I can't see you coming out on top that way.
But I might be missing something?

Kamikaze allows you to target any structure or starbase in the region the ship is in. So yes, you can hit the starbase.
I think that minmatar have a good chance in multiplayer decks as well. I would sub in 2 carcals for their ambush value of 8 and keep a strong defensive fleet of high ambush ships while using my kamikaze for attack purposes. With a few cards that allow you to get ships back from the scrapheap, you can deal "finishing blows" to an opponent when they are weakened. Of course, if you're ground zero for everyone else's attacks, you are normally screwed in multiplayer games. You will probably just be slowly ground down to nothing as minmatar. ---------------------------------- I am free \o/ Sadly your sig is also slightly above the required limits of 400 x 120, total size not exceeding 24000 kbs - Cortes |

I was told it was a Minmatar deck that won the tourny.
This is un-official of course. It was a EVE con staffer but no idea who it was name wise (didn't look).

That wouldnt surprise me. Minmatar are the easiest deck to win with/hardest deck to stop until you have the right cards and the right deck. Minmatar can do it all mostly with commons.
