Cloaking Device
Could someone explain the difference what "re-activation" time is and "re-calibration" time is and the differences between the two?

Sensor Recalibration Time - Time in seconds before you can target anything after uncloaking.
Reactivation Delay - Time in seconds you can't activate the cloaking device after deactiving it, this carries through across jumps.

If the 30 second reactivation timer has expired and I am capable of re-cloaking, are there any other factors that would prevent me from recloaking:
1. Being agressed? 2. Agressing? 3. Being targetting? 4. Targetting?

If someone has a lock on you, you will not be able to cloak. Either destroy him or ECM his lock off then cloak before he re-acquires you.

1. Being Targeted 2. Being closer than 2km to an object.

Is the reactivation timer reset once a target lock on me is made or is it literally from last re-cloak only?
Mean if I target jam someone off me, can I immediately recloak as long as it has been 30 seconds since I've last done so regardless of what has gone on in the interim?

If you target jam everyone who has you locked, you can cloak. The timer is only affected from previous cloaks. Dark skies torn apart Heavens open before me I, the light of death |

I was under the impression that the recalibration timer did not apply to SB's?

It doesn't. Both the recalibration delay and recloaking delay are removed on stealth bombers (and apparently combat recons, if the item database is right).

Not removed but lowered a lot. 5 sec recloaking delay instead of 30. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Man this forum drives me crazy sometimes! Too much conflicting information!
Do force recons get a cloak bonus in ANY way or not? If so what are they? If you answer this, you better have a force recon and not be requoting heresay. _____________________

Yes, force recon has lowered locking delay (to abt 5 seconds iirc). So after uncloaking you need to wait 5sec before you can start locking.

Actually, no.
Covert Ops and Force Recons only get the re-activation delay lowered (set to 5 seconds, in fact). The Covert Ops Cloaking Device II has a re-calibration time of 10 seconds, then you add the Cloaking skill and it's reduced by 10% per level. So at level 5 cloaking and with a Cov Ops Cloak, your recalibration time is only 5 seconds.
In other words, the locking timer is either 5 or 6 seconds depending on skills if you can use the Cov Ops Cloak. Dark skies torn apart Heavens open before me I, the light of death |

Okay I actually mean to write combat recon not force recon. That's good info however. Can anyone say if the combat recons get any cloak bonus? I'm starting to get the impression that combat recon ships aren't even meant to use a cloak... _____________________

Combat recons have no cloak bouses what so ever and are not intended to carry them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Combat Recon ships are like the SBs, they cannot use the Cov Ops Cloak. No warping while cloaked. That's the special domain of the Cov Ops Frig and the Force Recon Cruiser.

Take a look at the item database. They have the same bonus as stealth bombers listed. I can't fly one yet so I can't check it myself... have you?

Hmm, I do own a rook, I just never use it (falcon ftw). I'll test it as soon as I can. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I see no bonus referencing a cloak on the Huggin page. Quote please. _____________________

Slightly connected question - does this apply to the jumpin cloak as well (the "natural" one of all ships)? Basically, if you jump in into a system and appear/get loaded within 2km of an object (like a can) will you decloak?
