Anyone got a good solo pvp setup?
Ive seen peeps say about a mwd, but a mwd on a vengence just seems to gimp it to much?

MWD on the vengeance works pretty well, because of the cap size on the frigate, and the recharge bonus:
2 dual light pulse, 1 medium pulse, 1 rocket II 1mn MWD II, web, scram HS II, CPR, Energized thermal plate, SAR II

1. Is the rocket really needed? 2. What about NOS? 3. Is that tank enough?

With the setup above, it all runs forever (excluding MWD).
BUT is the tank overkill for a solo setup or will it still strugle to tank?

has anyone tryed bleeder setup for vengeance for solo pvp? 3x Dual light Pulse Laser II (try to fit Medium Pulse II if you can) 1x E5 nos AB,web, scram SAR II, 2 CPR(maybe 3, but already get bonus for cap recharging), and 1 mod you like to fit (HS II, damage control, energized adaptive, etc etc ... ) i was amazed when i saw my punisher could kill ferox solo with bleeder setup so it could be good with vengeance what do you think

I've come up with this setup for my Vengeance, but have yet to field test it.
Highs: 3x Med Pulse II's (Conflag) 1x E5 Nos
Mids: 1x 1MN MWD II 1x X5 Webber 1x Faint Eps. Warp Prohibitor (7.5km)
Lows: 1x SAR II 1x Energized Thermic Membrane II 1x MAPC 1x CPR
With the CPR and the Nos, the cap is more than stable, and is able to runn all mods (except the MWD) all day long.

Best setup I've seen (not mine, I stole it ) is:
3x Dual Light Pulse Laser II 1x 'Arbalest' Rocket Launcher I
1x Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters 1x X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator 1x Faint Epsilon Warp Prohibitor I
1x Small Armor Repairer II 1x 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I 1x Energized Thermic Membrane II 1x Heat Sink II

Looks like a decent setup, but if you are running your repairer, it doesnt seem like your cap will last long at all.

Yup. It's a balance between damage and tank, you can drop the HS for a CPR if you prefer (and probably upgrade some other bits) but you won't get a 200mm plate with a Nos in the high.

i run the bleeder setup on mine.
HIGHS 2x med pulse (multi, MW) 1x dual light pulse (multi, MW) 1x NoS
MEDS 1x AB II 1x Warp Scrambler 1x Cap recharger
LOWS 1x Sml ARU II 1x Energized Thermal II 2x CPR
with my skills i got 360cap with a 47sec recharge, this thing runs forever, i can run all mods and it just keeps going. i was gonna play about with it, maybe drop the Cap Recharge and fit a webber and then see how it holds up. or maybe drop a CPR and fit an Energized adaptive plate II for more resists.

Just wondering, is there any argument for ditching lasers and going with 150mm T2 autocannons, nos, AB/X5/scrambler, rep, cap relay, energized thermic membrane and 400mm plate?
With nossing setups so common, is a recharge rate high enough to tank one medium nos sufficient, or should we just go all the way and immunise the damage output from cap issues entirely?
Reason I ask is, I have been in situations where I had a dry capacitor, but my opponent was unable to hit me for much (heavy missiles or poor cruiser turret tracking). Being able to fire even while completely nossed would make a big difference.

The 25% damage bonus is a motivating factor.
If you fit ACs, you'll be spanked by Wolfs and laser Vengeances.

My setup (not tested or ****, be carefull)
3 Dual Light Pulse Laser II 1 Small Nos
1 1mn AB II 1 Warp Scrambler 1 Webb
1 SAR II 1 EANM 1 Hardner (could replace with a passive one, depending on skills) 1 CPR
With decent cap skills this setup should be l33t. I don't think you need an MWD, I'd rather go into nos/webb range with AB on than just bursting into range with MWD. Also your cap handels mutch better.

That would be fun if someone tried it out (would be cool atleast).
I guess you could test; would the increased tank / cap management be better for me (give me more kills) than the damage bonus? In short: what is best?

mine's a bit diferent.
I don't use the nos.
I prefer a named mwd (less fitting reqs) and 20km'er
on lows I put 2 CPR's instead CPR and MAPC.
result? a ship that can tackle a javelin raven and it won't budge a bit. -------

Edited by: HauntedSoul on 19/10/2006 04:21:05 My setup would be this
Highs 3x Light Pulse II's or Gatlings depending if you light faster RoF 1x small NoS
Meds 1x Cap Recharger II 1x AB II or Best named, High skills = 206% boost 1x 20K Scrambler
Lows Dark Blood Resistance Plates, -30% too Thermal, Kinetic, Explosive or maybe EM as Expo already has really high. "13M isk" Armor Rep II
The above setup would have a much better Tank than using the -20% with a Thermal. and still allow a good Cap recharge. as I have Energy System Ops 5, Energy managment 5, and once you get Assault ships 5 you'll have 25% reg Rate from Vengeance Bonus = out to be 90% or better. with all skill's and Cap rep II added.

Didn't the Vengeance used to have 4highs, 3meds, 3lows? Did this change? It must have because there is no other way for you to fit 4-3-4 .......
Me looks into finishing work and getting home for a glass of wine, a nice meal, hot kiss and a couple of hours of eve ==> checking the vengeance out !!!
Am interested in more thoughts on the punisher bleeder setup applied to the vengeance ... please add any comments as this is in the sticky.

I have had good luck with this set-up...
Hi: 3x Med Pulse Laser II Rocket Launcher II
Med: 1mn AB II Warp Scrambler II Micro Cap Booster (Electrochemical w/ 200s)
Low: SAR II Electrostatic Heat Diffusion Plating 2x Heat Sink II
Now before you start screaming that this "won't fit" you should know that I have Engineering V, Weapons Upgrade V, Advanced Weapons Upgrade V, and Electronics V.
It's a little weak on the Tank side, but you can usually out damage most any frigate sized ship. For larger ships swap it out to Microwave Crystals (or t2 Range ones) and orbit outside of webber range while your cap booster keeps you alive against NOS....or run away. (btw, this set-up can break the tank on 2.5mil rat BSs with high enough gunnery skills)

This is the setup I use. Its odd because every ship I get I try and tank. And no if you have 25mil then this setup is great, its not really that expensive.
3x Medium Pulse Laser II 1x Small Diminishing Nos (I leave it inactive incase im in a system where there are pirates and no stations to fit it.)
1mn Afterburner II for PvE / Multispec jammer for PvP Fleeting Webber Fleeting Warp Scrambler
Small Armor Rep II True Sansha's Energized Thermic True Sansha's Adaptive Nano (or energized if you have 60m.) Cap Power Relay
This setup amazingly fits and does fine damage while also having its resitances at 73% 80% 79% and 72%

Hey guys this is my current Vengeance setup - first day in an AF, but already solo killed a rupture. similar to my punihser setup btw..
3 x 200mm II AC 1 x E5 Nos
mid-
Mwd 20k scram webifier
low-
200mm rolled tungsten 1 x Small armor rep II Damage Control 1 * EANM or a thermic Membrane...
Seems to work -- cant sustain tank forever -- but long enough to take down a rupture -- but only got assualt ships lvl 1.. so that'll prob change with the Recharge bonus...
otherwise fit a Cap Power Relay.

Nobody uses Standard Missle Launchers or Beams for their setups? Why is this?
With the recent addition of a 24km scram I can fit tech II beams(using Aurora's) and a tech II Standard Missle Launcher to deal decent damage at 24km range while still getting a point.
Can't web at that range and my ship is pretty slow (600/s). Are their any speed rigs in the game that could possibly help this setup out?

Hey -- Vengeance has become my everyday ship -- just cant get enough.. i have two setups -- both equally successful.. i.e. over 200 kills to about 15 losses... mainly tackles for gangs mind.
High:
2 x 200mm Auto's T2 (yes its all about the autocannon -- trust me) 1 x 125mm auto t2. 1 small nos (good named)
med:
1mn MWD Statis web (x5) 1 x warp disrupt (20km) -- t2 is *****ble just change all guns for 150mm autocannons and buy a named MWD..
Low:
1 small rep t2 400mm rolled tungsten plate Micro auxillary power core (if u can afford named u can upgrade guns) energized thermic membrane t2
This setup works like a dream, can almost solo any AF and inteceptor not expecting the autocannons.. also easily take on many cruisers and hapilly tackle BS and Carriers till the cow's come home.

I have been trying to make this setup fit in my Vengeance:
4x Rocket Launcher II
1x 1 MN Afterburner II 1x X5 Prototype Engine Enervator 1x Faint Epsilon Warp Prohibitor
1x Damage Control II 1x Small Armor Repairer II 1x Amarr Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane 1x Amarr Energized Thermic Membrane
It's a brutally tight fit - even with the additional CPU they granted the Vengeance you're still going to need Electronics V and Weapon Upgrades V, (Mercifully, not Adv. Weapons Upgrades V.)
I've not yet made this work: I'm still saving for the second faction energized plating. (Dear God they're expensive,) but I think it will fit, though with virtually no room for substitutions: Going to EANM II or Thermic Membrane II will cost too much CPU.
