DT is not 1 hour (I know its less sometimes) but even when game boots up I can't log in for 10-15 mins after game has come out of DT because the area I am in has not loaded!!!
So most of the time I have like 1 hr and 15 mins of DT, never used to be like this months ago. Nearly as annoying as those stupid "Eve is shutting down" messages every 15 mins 1 hr before DT that stop you from clicking buttons...meaning I couldn't dock my freighter and was bounced at 3k a sec.

Aww well thats too bad. The solution is to wait 15mins. The cluster doesn't work at lightspeed you know.

Seriously, we're all paying customers as well, but even though the cluster may be in the top100 world supercomputers, it can't do everything perfectly. Thousands of people are trying to login simultaneously, wait 15mins. What do you expect to achieve by *****ing about it on these forums?

20 minutes and still cannot load a character. This is the second time on a weekend the servers have been knackered when brought up.

Stop moaning over 30 minutes when CCP do such a great job most of the rest of the time. The workload the servers have too bring up is huge, makes sence it might take some time.

Just make DT 1:30, so that its clear. I hate trying for 25 minutes to see if my system is loaded or not.

It could be worse.
If you were around for the Red Moon Rising "upgrade" you might remember that the game was unplayable for 3 weeks.
And right in the Christmas holidays too.

Its because we're coming upto a patch they must be doing something on a Saturday. Server trouble always seems to increase before a big patch.
The same amount of people are try to log on Sunday and it's fine. You spend 25 minutes logging in, then all the gates are locked down. You get a post about server trouble and about 2 hours after DT everything is cool again.
It's not about the 2 hours play time. It's about the fact CCP have been doing this for some years now and would be nice if it started going a bit more smoothly.
Managing customer expectation is the difference between good and bad customer service. If it's not going to be up for 2 hours. Say it's not going to be up for two hours. If you're going to carry out critical changes do them in low traffic periods even if means 3am. Make sure your update procedures are air tight and thoroughly tested.
