There isn't any new content in Dragon.
If missions are changing, that's new content.
No, the new replacement missions were put in in the last patch. The old versions of those missions are now being removed. I don't really think removing old content can really be called "new content".
Edit: Oh, and they're being removed because the code they run on is old and horrible and buggy. So even though it is a change to content, it's actually being done as a bugfix.
Originally by: Jim McGregor So... what will be changing in the missions? I dont need details... I understand you have better things to do than to list how npc 1234 now shoots 3 times instead of 4 every 10 seconds. :) But... I remember the accidental mission changes the last time which made every mission significantly harder, gave drones bounties and other things. Im already afraid. :)
As I understand it, all that will be happening is that some old missions get deleted. Doesn't look like any of the remaining missions are going to see noticable changes.
As far as I know, this applies to all the old-style "encounter" missions (i.e. the ones where you just warped to some random point of open space, rather than a deadspace). There are already new-style replacements for these missions. Some people confuse these with being a "deadspace" version of the mission, when really it's not. It just looks similar because it's based on the same new mission code, and because some of the ones that used to spawn in waves have now been split into different "rooms" linked via gateways.
All the dedicated mission runners will probably have already come across the new versions of these missions, so there's unlikely to be any real surprises for them, the new versions will just show up a bit more often now. ------- There is no magic Wand of Fixing, and it is not powered by forum whines. |

Wow... 24.2 MB to "remove" code?
As well as removing agent missions (which need practically no code in the client anyway), it's replacing a lot of code with the new unicode supporting code. I would expect the majority of the patch size is made up of that replacement code. ------- There is no magic Wand of Fixing, and it is not powered by forum whines. |
