Besides, it's not as if it has the same stats. Imitations won't hurt the value of your original. Complain when they start adding more Tribal Tempests to the market, not when they start adding ship skins that look like it. CCP, please don't forget the other three factions. There's still a President-edition Mega and Kronos, Emperor-edition Apocalypse and Paladin and a State Executor-edition Raven and Golem to be had.

What's the difference? You might actually see a Bugatti Veyron if you're lucky. I'll say it again - your ships may as well not exist. Besides, what are you going to do when CCP lets us have free rein over coloring our ships? I could make a flotilla of AT3-colored ships and just hand them out like candy on the Dodixie undock. Get over it and let the rest of us have pretty ships too. It's not like they're devaluing your never-to-be-sold hangar queens.

As Alvatore said, the one-of-a-kind ships in your collection may as well not exist. And really, the value of that collection is only meaningful to you. And to anyone who isn't you, those ships are only valuable to the thrall-like hordes of gankers that would probably stab each other in real life for a chance at the killmail.

CCP never promised you any sort of exclusivity when you bought your ships and decided to lock them away forever. However, your argument fails because just a few posts ago you were talking about seeing a Bugatti on the road. Nobody's ever going to see a Tribal Tempest, Federate Megathron, State Raven or Imperial Apoc anyway, so who cares if the skins are re-used? If you want to keep your ships unique (and your keep your special snowflake status intact) you should try going the route that CCP has demonstrated they will respect and Gold Magnate your ships. That is, get them blown to bits. All that being said, however, it is ultimately CCP's game and they have every right to re-use ship skins if they want. If these ships do come into the game they'll more than likely be behind an Aurum wall and people paying money speaks volumes louder than a microscopic minority protesting. Asking for special snowflake status doesn't work for anyone else and it shouldn't work for you either. Oh and by the way: What about all those people with Guristas AT ships? What about the people who will have Victory-Edition Rattlesnakes that look basically like normal rattlesnakes except with a sticker on them? Why aren't you complaining about CCP re-using the Guristas skin for those AT ships instead of giving them a unique Guristas skin? Why are you only complaining about yourself?

It represents a phenomenal amount of work tracking things down and a more phenomenal amount of work keeping track of everything. It was something about removing multiple copies of the same data but in theory it would allow ships to have new skins. The thread had something about a dread with sansha skins i think. Is there any tool being made that will be released to the players through the web such as this http://www.eveonline.com/universe/spaceships/ but where we can pick the skins and layers. I am not talking about in game but just a tool in general.

Bugatti Veyron body kits are a thing. They don't make the engineering of the original car any less special.

The skins are not all scheduled to be released as items on Tranquility. The item list of what's available might also differ between TQ and Serenity going forward, because of the two very different markets we're catering for. We're wary about the performance implications (particularly the video memory footprint) with the current system for medium to large scale fights, so we're looking at testing on SiSi with a big pile of skins. We need to gather both more performance data and user feedback on the features that we're working on for both skinning and customization capabilities before we commit more resources to making more skins to the game. As a part of our testing efforts we do author different types for no purpose other than testing, although some will be directed to the store and some will be recreated through a different process as development opportunities for customization get clearer. On a personal note, I know that there's a lot of skins and ships that you guys see as being part of EVE's history and heritage, and don't want to see being abused or used for moneymaking purposes. I'm right there with you, and don't believe we should sully EVE's history, and the history of some of our most famous and unique hulls by effectively putting replicas up for sale. I'll be working with our monetization guys to ensure that this doesn't happen, and that TQ stays true to its history and roots. And these really shouldn't impact performance during medium & large fights, because who the hell uses maurauders in fleets ?
