Yes.
I would NOT clone jump until further notice...
It put my clone into storage, allright. And it removed the clone from the other end. BUT. BUT, kids, it didn't move me. And I now have no implants. NOT impressed. (Yes, petitioned allready before anyone says that...)
Not that bothered about the move, but two +3's and 5 hardwirings lost from a bug. Not that I can't afford them, it's the principle of the thing...
And yes, that IS CCP's fault, Jenny. ISP issue happen, Jump Clone bugs are created.. (and such)

Jenny - ok sure, but don't they have a backup ? Would it not be a good idea to have to hardware servers running in parallel, so that if system A fails, then system B automatically takes over while system A is being fixed ? I mean this is a serious load for any server to handle
As for it being a software glitch, can they happen so unexpectadly ? And it has only been the last couple of weeks that it has really been this bad
And ultimately it is whomever owns this bussines that is to be held responsible.
To infinity... ...and back before lunch

Dear CCCP,
I have decided to cancel my EVE online account due to your inability to deliver a product I pay for. I considered pre-ordering the collectable card game, however with CCCP's current track record of producing unreliable products, I'm certain it would be borked too. Therefore, I am going to pre-order EON Magazine #003. That way I can at least read about a game that I can't enjoy.
Sincerely, LeeRoy Holmes President of The Coalition Against Hampster Mistreatment |

Oddly enough, my ISP was having problems connecting to any UK-based website for the past 2 days, only got working yesterday.
eve-online.com was one of the ones that got hit :(
So I thought my ISP was doing the borked dance, thankfully that isnt the case.
CCP do take care of TQ in prep for Dragon's codebase didnt expect growing pains to be THIS early. -

TQ isnt just one server, its a CLUSTER of computers networked to act as one server.
I think from that fact alone, it'll be too expensive to have a backup TQ run parralel to the main one, and would likely cause really bad problems considering mirroring content on both. -

The problems started for real after the monthly extra long down time which happens the first tuesday of each month. A bug or 5 came into play and crashes were a result of that.
And as always fix the drones so that they stop unlocking assigned target.

I wouldnt care as much about the server going down if -
I wouldnt get put back into a belt with 3 bs's - If I actually could warp out or turn on my hardners and reps - If ccp wouldnt take 3 months to look at the petition now - If ccp would then declare in 3 months that there logs show no sign of trouble -
Seems like CCP is busy putting servers up all over the place, and busy with other ways to make money, and forgetting about who its loyal customers have been for years now through all the other problems.

To support Jenny on this one, remember half a year ago when lag was horrendous prior to the hardware upgrade? Everyone was complaining, and honestly so was I. But eventually CCP came through. Have some faith guys, something as big as EVE doesn't get all issues solved in a scope of minutes or even days.

We have some more news on the second unexpected downtime. The bad news is that we do not know exactly what happened. The good news is that the server is up and running.
This will be looked into, and we are truly sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Jumps are lagged to Hades. Once you jump through a gate, your ship warps off into La-La land, totally uncommanded (has happened to me twice).
This occurred AFTER the second restart.

That's just usual startup lag.

But the lag isn't really any better; TQ overall has dropped in quality since then. CCP needs to invest more manpower in the backend(and save poor Valor), even if the cost is development. TQ's hardware needs to be in tip-top shape, and Dragon needs to be fully debugged before they even try to integrate Kali in to it. CCP's trying their hardest here, and everyone will recognize that, but it's becomming obvious that their best just isn't good enough. Something needs to change before they end up even further in the hole. ---- AUS Corp Lead Megalomanic |

While its nice that they are honest about not knowing what is causing these weekend crashes, its also abit worrying. Im sure things are pretty complex already, and with tuesdays dragon deployment and later kali... things could turn into a nightmare.
But its no use swinging the prophecy of doom around... I just wish ccp good luck in all this.

I don't agree. I was in station for over 30 mins before I began a 19 jump trip to Jita. These issues occurred during this time. 2 More "wayward warps" can be added as I am flying and entering this thread.

It's not as bad as it sounds, we know what happened, but not exactly. Which I think is normal in cases like this, especially after such a short time. We will have to go through everything to see exactly what went wrong. It's all a lot of tech talk and I don't really understand it myself, but it's not like we're clueless (except me, but thats not important).

lol, I remember this one guild in World of Warcraft who were fighting the lass boss in Molten Core (a 40-man raid instance, pretty dang hard), Ragnaros, they got him down to around 10% hp and then the server crashed. No loot for you guys :P.
Seriously though, every MMO will disconnect you and crash on you, and if you want to stop having that kind of experience stop playing them.

See guys. I know this is gonna be marked with some (tm) bullplop. Why is it after every unexpected downtime, everyone starts complaining and the "fix it or I quit" posts keeps coming? I think a server (server cluster) that handle 20,000+ users simultaneously generates a large server load, with data contstantly being sent back and forth from server cluster to pc of the player, that is a large load. Sh!t happens(tm)

Atleast we're getting info from the devs. Blizzard just says it's your ISP or computer, not their servers, when one of their servers go down.

Anyways, i could open escrow, but i couldn't get up info on players when i press 'Show Info' earlier before the server went down, so i was aware that something wasn't right then.

This is pretty sad, i had no idea there were this many malcontents in eve, and all posting to boot. get a grip first off, pull your asses of the couch or chair and DO something else, eve will be up when its up, why cry about something you know nothing of the facts on, how many experts have the facts to post legitimate flames to ccp?, that would be zero. and dont quote about past downtimes, same thing applies. This so called community of eve whining because they cant get..what? an eve fix? grow up. this is a pretty poor showing on the folks flaming ccp in this thread, glad its not representative of all the eve community. |
