Speaking of this, there was a dev blog not far back that talked about making some of the useless modules useful again. We'll see what happens.

I think the devs were talking about other modules than weapons. But I agree that 1200's are pretty useless. They do have less fitting requirements, but... most of the time you want the big bang if you are going to use artillery in the first place.
Personally i think artillery is boring. Tracking is so bad it can generally only be used to snipe. Zzzzz. And the dps is horrible. Really, really horrible.

Has that not improved since the damage boost for it?
I don't know, I never fitted it before or after, and I can't be bothered to run maths

My vote for useless modules goes to anything Micro sized, except for Micro Auxiliary Power Cores. I can't imagine why you'd ever need to have a Micro Smartbomb for instance. _________________________________________________________

They work good on a BC because it has alot of CAP and can afford to use it, if you get jumped by a bunch of frigates it just might save your butt since BC's dont do that well against frigates unless you fit small guns.

named survey scanners have less fitting requirements, like 1 CPU less or somesuch. Important on that apoc when you are trying to fit mining laser upgrades on it.

Regenerative plating.
On anything smaller than a capital ship you're always better off fitting a plate/damage mod/resistance plating/WCS. Err...I mean nanofiber, not WCS, of course.

Inertia Stabilizers are getting fixed so they'll become useful.
The most useless module is definetly the Auto Targeting Systems. They don't work. They'd be damned useful if they did work, but they simply do not target anything. I've done some field testing, and here's two interesting lists.
What Auto Targeters do not target: * Corp mates * Corp mates who are shooting at me * Random person who is shooting at me * War target * War target who is shooting at me * Non-hostile NPCs (such as CONCORD or convoys) * Hostile NPC * Hosilte, agressing, NPC * Stations (thankfully) * Asteroids (thankfully) * CONCORD (thankfully) * Abandoned ships
Here's a list of what they do target: * War target loot container (after they've died), though only rarely
Here's a list of what they *should* target if they worked: * Entities agressing you * Players whom you are allowed to shoot at in high-sec (war targets and -5 or lower sec status) * Hostile (pirate) NPCs Dark skies torn apart Heavens open before me I, the light of death |

Originally by: Pottsey I use the auto lock all the time and often have 2 fitted to my domi. So its not the most useless module.
As ithildin said, auto targetters tend not to target ANYTHING when I use them!
So, do you use them only for increased max target or have you found a way to make them work? _

lol, auto targeting systems are worse than useless in some cases
ever tried one in missions in deadspace? it targets things you didnt know were there o_0 and seems to have them on the highest priority...
micro mods as said
personally I find anything 'bulkhead' related pretty useless .. probably my vote
now i wait for someone to say how cool they are

you just had to ask, stand by for pottsey's coming complex math with max regen and dps clacs et all
and back on topic, my vote goes to just about anything with 'micro' in its name, plus them utterly useless flux mods

ôWhy oh god whyö ItÆs a killer against other Stealth bombers. You can take multiply volleys from a Stealth bomber and still have shields while other frigates and Stealth bomber tend to die in 1 volley. So if youÆre hunting frigates either T1 or T2 it works well and if your hunting other bombers you have the advantage.
But it does mean giving up the tracking disrupter(s). ItÆs also a fun ship to help with in PvE. The shields mean you can take a few hits. At the moment I only use my Bomber as a fun ship when I want a change.
The thing is Bombers have free CPU but not PG so its Micro extenders if you want to tank and you can tank with them. Its just most people donÆt realise it. I do agree they are a lot of the time they are better without tanks and tracking disrupters but its fun to watch people hit you and go WTF its still alive. I will never forget the time I engaged a Stealth bomber with my bomber and survived with more then 50% shields.
ôSo, do you use them only for increased max target or have you found a way to make them work?ö They used to work now I just use them for extra locks. I donÆt use them in PvP.

Named Passive targeters.
I mean look at them, they are not any better at all, and in one case I believe a named one actually used up more CPU.
Oh and the named passive targeters suck even more due to the fact that they can't be used for mineral compression like the standard ones since they refine to much less iso and mex and such.
The bulk heads would also get my useless vote. Has anyone seriously ever used them? Maybe a few people here and there who are just screwing around with the idea of a structure tank, but beyond that I see no reason.

pirate/flashyred: WHAT THE ****?
I think defender missiles, fired by players, are pretty useless. I tried using them for a long long time as a newbie, and it was just a waste of time. Also micro shield extenders are totally worthless. Look at their fitting reqs. Ok now look at small extender fitting reqs. Yeah, someone ****** up.

ohhh good one. forgot all about how useless defenders currently are.
They were somewhat usefull back in the stoneage before the missile changes... ya know when missiles were really slow and torps killed frigs?
Now adays.. not so much except in special circumstances.

more like about 25% more speed.. It's a good mod, pity I can't fit in on ishtar due to cpu issues. Always have at least one on my Domi though.
