build 1282, Gallente faction, lvl 2:
*) Locals in need: Wrong text in journal: The agent is situated in Vivanier. The text in the briefing is correct: "... I managed to aquire these items on Agoze IX - Moon 2 - Center for Advanced Studies School, and I'd like you to bring them back here. ..." Here the wrong text in Objectives:" To complete the mission, the following must be provided by you: nineteen hundred units of small Lead charges at Agoze IX - Moon 2 - Center for Advanced Studies School" <-- wrong station, it should be the station in Vivanier.
additional problems: *) No agent-info *) Some lvl 1 and lvl 2 Agents donŠt give new missions. Perhaps the agent-info would be helpful.

Found why the objective is incorrect. This should generally be the case on most missions involving transporting stuff from A to B where A is not the agent's station, but B is. A fix should be heading for the dev server soon.

Market supply/demand based missions are going out. There may be some residual missions still, but I think Zrakor has killed the last one. Generally turned into courier missions.

Unique commodities are going out in general.
Some missions will have unique objectives however, mostly involving obviously unique items such as data sheets, tourists, etc.

PhamNuwen: On the old standing system > new standing system port.
Yes, obviously the old standings don't work with the new system.
I was going to recalculate the standings database from scratch, but after quite a bit of work on it I found that it was impossible. We do not have enough data to do that properly.
After quite a bit of thought on the subject, it actually seems to me that simply halving the NPC->non-NPC standings of everybody when porting from old to new gives a nice, safe, and pretty well balanced port without messing anybody up in some unfair manner. The only hack I'd need to do then would be to ensure that you can talk to all of your agents after the patch, by ensuring that you have a high enough agent->char standing in all cases.

1289 (and a few previous builds)
The 'standing transactions' log doesn't work for the factions -- it displays the changes in corporate and personal standings when requested, but the list for factions is always empty. Which is somewhat annoying because i have now some negative factions after being offline for few days, and can't check the reason... :s

You made a number of missions for Caldari agents, so you have a good standing with the caldari faction. Apparently the enemies of the Caldari faction (Guristas, Gallente, Ore, Syndicate, Thukker tribe....) donŠt like this and you get a bad standing with them.
This information is indeed missing in the "show transactions"-window.

Patch 1289:
bugs: *) Corp information: Agent-tab: The agents are in the wrong folder (available to you / not available to you)
Mission: *) lvl1, Shopping spree: OK *) lvl1, Transportation Service: OK *) lvl2, Ammo transportation: Wrong time given in Mission briefing: "The thing is, that supply of hybrid-ammo is supposed to be delivered to one of our prominent clients in less than 10 hours!". In the journal the missions expires in 4 hours. After accepting the mission, the agent tells you, that there is a bonus reward, which isnŠt. *) lvl2, Reports must be safely delivered: BROKEN: If you click on "response" for accepting the mission, the collateral is subtracted from your wallet, but nothing else happens.

Yup, that's how it normally worked. Thing in this particular case is, as far as i can tell i was getting no negative faction hits while performing the missions for the Caldari State. The negative factions (as well as some positive towards other empires) appeared seemingly for no reason on my character sheet when i logged in after 2-3 day long break.
Maybe they were simply calculated post-fact during the downtime or something, still just seems odd...

1290
Display bug is fixed, nice =) Looks like my negative standings are all results of "Derived Modification" and "Standing Decay" transactions (does decay of negative standing move the standing towards 0.0 or further down?)
Some of them seemed odd, like negative faction with Sisters of Eve, but after checking their relations turns out to be OK, i guess... the SoE has now negative standing towards Caldari State for some reason, so me doing missions for Caldari doesn't help things...
(level 2, Caldari faction)
* Slave run
... works OK, although raises few questions. :s
mission briefing:
"I have some slaves that need to be relocated to where they are needed. I want you to take 30 slaves to Pakkonen II - Moon 1 - Caldari Constructions Foundry for me, they're needed there in time for the harvest. You'll get 17200 for making this trip."
... the part with sending slaves for harvest to Foundry makes little sense, non?
Also, the mission resulted in 39.45% standing boost towards the agent, when the other missions done before would give some 3-4% boost... now i realize moving slaves might be a dirty work, but the bonus feels rather excessive o.O
* Shipment for an ally
... worked OK except for the personal standing increase again -- this time the boost was 44.7525% Guessing some global multiplier in the mission engine has one 0 too much? ;)
... Oh yeah, and can someone please ask Mr.Hamimaitoh Asanishi of Kaalakiota Company, located at Nonni IV, to actually put some clothes on while he talks with people? That nekkid mugshot of his is somewhat unsettling... :s (and he's missing an eye on the full-sized captured portrait....)
* Ally Commodity Supply
... OK; personal standing increased by 52.6689% but everything else seems to be in order.
BTW. doing missions apparently has no effect on the standings towards the allies/enemies of the given faction -- my Mordu's Legion, Gallente, Guristas etc factions remain the same even though my Caldari faction increased by ~0.3 after 3 missions...
Also. the display bug which was affecting transactions log for faction, now seems to affect the transactions log for the corporations with negative standing towards the player... at least as far as Serpentis Corporation goes. o.O

Edited by: Helison on 07/11/2003 12:53:58 Patch 1290: good work!
*) Agent-Tab in Station UI: OK *) Corp information: Agent-tab: OK *) location-service: OK *) Bonus Rewards: wrong time: OK
*) Agent standings (since 1289): Succesful missions give you 10 times of the previous (before 1289) standing modification towards agents. Now I get about +40% for lvl2-missions. The standing modifications for the corp and the faction of the agent havnŠt changed. (see also post from J0sephine)
missions: *)edited gallente, lvl2, Retirement party: BUGGED: IŠve finished the mission and got a positive standing modification. After about 2 hours I got a mail, that the mission failed and got a negative standing modification. *) gallente, lvl1, Reports must be safely delivered: OK *) gallente, lvl1, Corporate Ore Supply: OK

The "Derived Modifications" are calculated once a day and not for every change to standings.
edit: They arenŠt calculated each day. My standings were last changed by derived modifications 4 days before.

"The "Derived Modifications" are calculated once a day and not for every change to standings."
Hmm even if so, the way they are calculated seems somewhat strange -- take the Mordu's Legion for example. Their standing towards the Caldari is 90% (9.0) My faction with them is now at 0.16, while my Caldari faction is right now at 1.57. On the other hand we have the Gallente with their -20% dislike (-2.0) My faction with them is right now at -0.03.
... Cross-checking with the other values, would have to guess the conversion goes somewhat along the lines of "secondary faction = primary faction * relationship between factions * 0.1" but that would mean even if i get the highest standing towards one empire, and even if they have enemy with -100% standing, that enemy would give me standing of merely -1.0 i.e. "nominal"? Unless the secondary faction changes accumulate even after you hit the 'ceiling' with the primary faction... but even then, with the decay rate much higher than the negative hit per mission, seems like one would have to work their ass off to gain and maintain any enemies. o.O
Really hard to tell if it's working correct if there's no information how it's supposed to work... :/

With the new system itŠs possible the get very many agents and also many not accepted mission.
*) Would it be possible to remove not-accepted missions after a time (expire-time?) from your journal? *) Please remove the agents from not-accepted missions from the agent-tab in the station-UI.
Thanks.

hmmm was hoping those research agents would make it to Chaos on Friday like initially stated, but cant' find any of them... guess they will be late ;s
missions tested (lvl.2, Caldari faction)
* Weapon run
... possibly half-broken Everything works OK except the personal standing boost -- 52.9924% increase (after doing 2 missions i have 'exemplary' standing of 7.78 with the agent...)
* Slave run
... same remarks like in build 1290 (earlier in the thread)
(lvl.3, Caldari faction)
* Shipment for an ally * Blunder in the sales department
... works OK, but personal standing boosts from these missions were 81.1688% and 73.015%, respectively.
sidenote: the 'show my agents' map filter appears broken; the progress bar keeps going and going but the map is never drawn.
