There's no Jove space to open. There's some unreachable systems labelled 'Jove Empire'. There's nothing actually there. Just empty systems.
If that's your standard for content, CCP could just label a region "Yo Momma" and open her up for business. Actually it's where the devs/employee's play the game (with each other) since they stopped playing the game with the players, due to shenanigans (Kugutsumen, T2 BPO scandal, etc). Actually, there are two Jovian Empire controlled regions (A821-A and J7HZ-F). The other one (UUA-F4) is the dev playground area- and even there, they basically only use Polaris and a few surrounding systems.

Actually the jove are not dead. Concord took them of the database becaus they havent been seen. Ccp falcon also tried to push this idea to everyone that the most advanced race died out. Lol yeah ok.
the idea of opening jove space would tbh slam one of the oldest storys in eve. I would like to see a story of the gates being connected and then possibly a station with sleeping jove accidently woken up.
Then all hell breaks loose and the jove start moving about eve again randomly showing up. But cant see this happening
jove spave is pretty barren you know. All the stations are the same. Plus ccp like having skret parties there. |

Sleepers are Jove.
New Wormholes and Sleeper tech added to K-Space. Something tells me we will be seeing the Jove before our time is over.
Plus Fozzie said they're working on some sort of story to go with why sleeper tech will be found in K-Space as well as J-Space.
Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

The "Jove" have become what is often known as an allegory.
Let's see if you can put two and two together and figure out what the "Jove/Jovian Race/Jovian Space" is an allegory for.

Once you realize what a joke everything is, being the comedian is the only thing that makes sense.

That is why Null has got to where it is at the moment. The question is with this can the Jove respond to the incursion?
We had a land rush once, the space was utterly ****, and no one really wanted to live there. A few groups moved in and fought over it for a bit of time, i think about 3 months then it stabilized for about 6 months, then the rise of legion of xxxdeathxxx and IRC cause the region to fall to the two entities, and null returned to boring.
The best thing they could of done for this new land, was when they added bounties to drones. Then the crappy alliances that only had the space cause no one else wanted it were swept aside. And we are again back to where we are.
So no, adding jove space, with null sec not fixed, changes nothing.
The jove are dead, or they are controlling the sleeper drones

there are unreleased content that is in eve right now, but you can;t play it. It was mentioned in one of the interviews that one thing they are trying to fix is with escalation and other mission related stuff. there are things that were released to TQ but for one reason or another don;t ever get activated. If ccp corrects this issue you will see a ton of 'new' content.

Paul Panala wrote:If CCP did this, it would have to come with a lot of new content in the game. A new area that works pretty much like existing null but with different NPCs would be very disappointing. It would need to be something new and different.
I like the idea of NPCs using player tactics to protect their space. It could also be interesting if there was a way to gain standings with the Jove to be allowed in their space. I am not suggesting it should be a carebear kingdom, just that there should be some kind of structure, not just null and rats.
Improving the AI is good but if you want to fight ships using unpredictable human tactics and with human like approaches to combat, just go and fight players in our existing space. I'm not trying to be facetious but what you want, you can already get. Jove or any new space will be a take on the current mechanics and with player density as it is, more space isn't really an answer.
You guys should take advantage of the power projection nerf and go get some null space. There is plenty for the taking in the south and won't be hard to take and hold. |

They should camp gates with bubbles, use caps to attack POSes, and hot drop mining fleets. The lore of the Jove has to be held true of course. Who would not want the chance of flying a jove ship??

Three questions and Three answers below.
1, "Why would it?" Greed, power, knowledge and the sense of adventure.
2, " You don't even know what is there" Neither did the original capsuleers going through the Eve gate.
3, "might be more high sec boredom for all we know." Who says it would be high sec or any known space? Read your question two! [/quote] |

Jove space would become part of the big blue within a month if not a week - and then...?! There would have to be some seriously advanced AI(Jove) pushing back and countering all player-based activity in the area for this not this happen.
Would be even more interesting, other than just another land-grab rush, if all players from all factions and alliances needed to work together to conquer and hold new space. If the AI was scalable in difficulty it would match whatever EVE's player-base threw at it - making it an extremely long and difficult battle to conquer, let alone to own and maintain! |

Because the Jove are technologically superior to the rest of New Eden ?... (and by technologically superior I mean they are the Monolith and the Empires are the monkeys) Because they have turned an entire Amarrian Armada into scrap metal, so fast they didn't even got to press F1 ?... Because it's a plot mechanic that keeps the universe of EvE revolving ?.... Because it will spoil the mystery ?....
Or do you want the new expansion with the Jove race and the all new Jove starter zone?... Some things are better left in the dark.

If Jove space were to be opened up, I wouldn't be satisfied unless it had defence forces that would require player fleets of dozens if not hundreds of ships to take on. The Jove invented the capsule and were using it long before the four empires got their hands on them. Jove NPCs should be able to target capsules. Reverse-engineering even a single Jovian module should require significant effort - deploying an entire fully-fitted Jovian ship should be a thing of legend. Jove space should be true endgame content - unskilled pilots need not apply.
