This is a PVE little things thread not to be confused with the general little things.
This will focus entirely on small pve stuff.
eg.
C1 sites with loads of sentry guns, being a issue to people just warping in to see and getting wtf owned.
Some sites having loads of gas cloud that lag the hell out of most pc's.
C4 sites where the next wave spawns off grid.
These are all the type of small things CCP Affinity would love to know so she can look at them and hopefully sort them.
Please be specific say what class wh what site, give as much info as possible please.

Too many cans in relic and Data sites, (all classes) reduce number and concentrate loot. Such a click fest most never get done beyond clearing the sleepers. It is much better since the removal of the loot spawn but still excessive.

Solar Cell and The Oruze Construct in C3 now problematic with the Corrected remote repair bonus to sleepers, Need reevaluating. The Tengu for example no longer has the capabilities that existed when the site was initially balanced. Forgotten Frontier Quarantine Outpost whilst incoming DPS is manageable, DPS required to apply to the Cruiser sleepers is very high. Unsecured Frontier Receiver Is now somewhat problematic to clear with the improved RR battleships.
I am not saying that any of these sites are impossible, the balance of them could do with re-examining however.

Regarding mining, Returning ore sites to require Scanning out will encourage Mining in wormhole space. If however things remain as they are and if a rift in space existed in an ore anomaly that led to a more remote area, that required activation generating a "hole-fire" warning that would achieve the same end. There only needs to be time to react, align, and enter warp for an active player. Currently there is no defence strategy possible for an active involved player if the entry hole is off scan or even if clicking scan every 5 seconds a ship can enter and cloak before showing. Hence few miners choose to play roulette with their ships and pods if the system is not TOTALLY locked down with scouts on all the holes.

All PVE content does not have to have a very high value, many corps, are low in numbers outside of peak times, often there is only one on.
This player typically scans to provide information and links for the corp when they come on later, While he is doing so give him something to discover, to earn some income, whilst doing a thankless Job. Keep it simple, quick, but engaging. He has an important job to do and we do not want to distract him for too long.

Right after the changes I ran a bunch of these sites in Class 3 space and evaluated the change. The reality is that your typical 400DPS-ish Strategic Cruiser just isn't hacking it anymore.

A suggestion for a new Version of the ore sites in wormhole space.
The anomaly is visible without scanning as currently, however this takes you to an ore site with a Single Sleeper who is active on arrival.
the death of this sleeper opens a rift (acceleration gate) that takes the player to the main ore site. the gate remains open until used.
the guardian rat then re-spawns as soon as the player enters once again guarding the rift.
A hunter coming into system can warp to the anomaly quickly kill the sleeper enter the rift, and attempt to catch the miner. Possibly destroying the wreck to limit the time he is visible.
This balances the miners risk and alertness with the cunning and speed of the hunter. Active miners who are alert and scanning Dscan will have Just enough time to attempt to escape, slow miners will be caught.
this will be an interesting variation with balanced risk and engaging for both parties.

To ease the whole ore site fiasco. Do this
Suggestion: leave ore sites currently as warp able signatues. Add additional ore sites as probe able anomalies.
In otherwords, have both. Ore Sites that are immediately warpable to, and others that require probes to find (just like how all the combat sites are setup).
Basically, add ore to anomalies and keep them also as sigs.
Issue resolved, you have both.

1. My screen turns completely white when some NPC ships are destroyed while missioning in Amarr space. I had thought it was only when an NPC BS died, but it happened yesterday with an NPC frigate. The white screen lasts about 7-10 seconds. I really can't do much at all during that time frame, but hope I don't die.
2. Faction missions should not incur a standing penalty if they are declined, in the same way as burner missions. If I mission in Gallente space, it is in my best interest to decline any Caldari faction missions if I plan to use a mission toon to travel to Jita. Otherwise, I could find myself hunted by the Caldari navy while piloting a freighter. Might make a nice loss mail, but I would prefer to avoid this scenario.
3. Why am I penalized when declining a mission, in terms of next mission quality? So, I mission for a while and start to get some decent paying missions. Suddenly a faction mission comes up and I decline it. For some reason, the mission agent will invariably give me several low quality missions as some kind of hidden penalty, before offering better missions again. This game mechanic really wastes my time. Since I cannot decline more than 1 mission every 4 hours, I have no choice but to run the low paying missions or log off for 4 hours and return.
4. Why are the nebula so bright in Amarr space? I have to keep moving the view around so I can read the white text on my screen and hope I can see the green hue indicating a module is activated. I have not noticed the problem to this extent in other areas os high sec.
Eve releases are coming so quickly, I had to start wearing a seat belt.

Moving ore from signatures to anomalies in w-space in particular was a highly effective way to remove any semblance of safety or even chance of survival for miners. Re-adding them as signatures, OR through undefended acceleration gates would provide safety for the disciplined miner, while still allowing hunters to easily catch and kill inattentive/semi afk miners.
Perhaps CCP would like to share average daily m3 of ORE mined in w-space before and after this change was made? |

I'd personally like to see some more classes of combat site.
On a side note it's also annoying to jump in to so many unclassed wormholes. Perhaps cut the number of untyped wormholes down a bit an redistribute those holes as +typed. Imo wh space should have a very low chance of putting you in a hole without any effects. That's just my opinion.
There doesn't feel like a lot of PVE to talk about when it comes to wh space really.

Personally I liked these sites when I first started living in w-space. I got a sense of progression as my tank and damage got better and I no longer had to warp out several times while clearing the guns.
Perhaps only have one gun attack your ship upon warping in with the remaining guns having a delay so every minute you are in the site another gun begins attacking you.

now on topic, reduce m3 of sleeper blue loot so i can carry billions out in my covops when i go to amarr to exchange it for shekels.
please for the love of god make it so everything ( sleepers and sentries ) spawn within 100km, sleeper sites are already way harder then kspace pve ( depending on class ofc ) so no need to also make us having to move our butts off of the warp in.
as already said, would be nice if there was a reason to shoot sentries rather then them just being a minor pest. |

Whatever you do corbexx, do Not suggest this to CCP. The last thing we need is for people to harass others because their dps did not hit 900 and was under by 2 points.
There is a reason square Enix banned dps meters from its game (they ignored people using it to measure their own statistics, but would ban you once you mentioned you were using it then told people "you aren't good enough".
Dps is only one metric to the game, and it should not be measured out (doesn't need to be). We get enough statistical feedback to know what works, we don't need a value to shove in people's faces to determine if they are leet or sh&t.

Whilst interesting, this job is being done well by various player creators.
However.

It would of course be a good idea to bring to CCP's attention any such defects or issues, but fixing the root of the problem, benefits PVP in the most effective manner. As more for conflict drivers? The whole of wormhole space is a conflict driver, pretty much every moment conflict can occur in space. But I am sure if you had a new idea for something interesting, it would be well received, why not start a thread? We could do with something different and new as well as sorting out the PVE to bring life into WHSpace.
After all without something to shoot there is no PVP.
Adorable analogy but I'm not in w-space to feast on fat gazelles and gnus, but to fight with people who actually shoot back. If ganking bears would be interesting, everyone would be flying Catalysts in Uedama.
"Hunting" PVErs is not the small gang PVP the players are after, it's what we do when there's no real fights to be had. After Phoebe the PVE side is already fixed- wormhole space can easily support a healthy PVP ecosystem with the ISK we need. Now what we lack are small gang objectives, something others can destroy and others defend that doesn't consist of 12billion EHP with 99% resists and timers. Actually it would be awesome if it wasn't tied to structures at all, it could well be new PVE content as well. If that's too far fetched, then a simple small structure tied to sleeper income could work.
Anyway my point is that Phoebe fixed wh PVE, best is now to let people adapt and realize that w-space is back at the top again before any further buffing.

Re-iterating some of the points already listed. But these could really do with some tweaks:
- data and relics (we practically beg people to hack them because they take too long to hack and are not very valuable, this is in c3-c4 dunno about others...) - c4 site spawn distance is too much in some instances (over 100km / and sometimes off grid) - escalation wave in c4 data / relic sites seems very rare (i've only experienced it once or twice, and may be down to bad luck with the RNG gods but i think it should be more frequent) - gas cloud diversity (what winthorp said) - ore sites as scanned sigs (please no accel gate, just have them as an anom that you need to scan and let the poor miners have at least half a chance to get out) |

I think it would be nice if more wormhole systems had a sufficient number and variety of planets to be useful. Only a small fraction of W-space systems have perfect P4 production capability. Unlike K-space, you can't just use a temperate planet 1 or 2 jumps away if your solar system lacks such planet and you really need Autotrophs to make nanite paste or Proteins to make POS towers. |

I was thinking that if lore wise sleepers are starting to wake up then perhaps consider introducing some kind of incursion-format anomalies where the npcs are substantially tougher than normal and maybe finish off with a boss npc. Obviously the rewards are just in blue loot but maybe a bpc for various new items as well like we see in the new k-space sleeper sites.

AFAIK sansha rats were based on sleepers, so i don't think you should be making sleepers even harder just to add an incursion-esque experience... Maybe add a small chance for a named sleeper to some sites (aka. faction / officer spawn), but a big NO to incursion style mechanics. |

Basicly all c4 sites bar Sleeper Information Sanctum iirc, Integrated Terminus might also have bad spwns but less of an issue do to being frig heavy. If someone could confirm I haven't run them in a while.
In c2's perimiter hangers second wave is about 70-80off warp in and made up of ranged bs/cruiser which will kite you while doing decent damage.makes it difficult to run in anything not a drone boat/drakw with lower so.
(C2)The Ruins of Enclave Cohort 27 third spawn is around 70-100k and has no interest in getting closer and will often get hung up on structures.
As was said before give sentry towers a drop of some kind most older player will just tank them and leave the site to despawn while newer players kill them because they have to or just don't realize there is no point in killing them |

example: talocan stasis deflector, 3 on the market right now, 150mil each.
Why? Because digital booster rockets and modules that could potentially benefit certain fits are prohibitively expensive due to the rarity of the components needed to manufacture them. (Hint: add them to data/relic sites or expeditions, we can only obtain COSMOS blueprints from COSMOS space, doesn't mean all the components to manufacture them have to come from the same space)
You guys have been holding out on this for a long time. I just don't see why it is necessary to leave a large portion of useful modules unusable. Either fix their blueprint requirements or make the materials easier to obtain.

Reading must be hard:
Quote:WORMHOLE!! PVE Little things
If you want to talk about your k-spacestuff go to your own forums and post there. Or in the feedback for science and industry it is still stickied everywhere.
Overall worth of sites is completely out of balance compared to pretty much everything else, but
RR used to work and was not a problem, maybe C4 sites are not supposed to be soloed. There are c1-3 sites for that. Sleepers orbiting at 80, so what? You cannot bring blasterboats, not everything is supposed to be as easy as possible.
Offgid spawning is a thing that needs fixing, but it only regularly happened in one c4 site iirc. I just do not know which one exactly since I haven-¦t run c4s in years.
Dataloot being caldari decryptors and random useless junk has been like that for years, but 20+ cans are really not needed. If people running the sites could just post the name of the site plus the number of cans that would be probably helpful.
Things brought up during the meetings:
sentry guns being way to strong in all regards and not dropping loot.
Escalations spawning in easily exploitable positions (0 traversal and smarties)
Reduction of (lowend) gas volumes, since they are pretty much worthless and only cleared to have less sites to scan but take forever.
Addition of k-space druggassites to give industrialists more to do. Probably depending on the systemeffects. F.e. 80% of it being a bluepillsite in a pulsar or an exile in w-rs. Maybe introduction of new rare drugs in fields still missing some.
Drops of intact-wrecked-malfunctioned t3 destroyerhulls inverted to the ones of stratcruisers to differenciate further between classes. So if you want to produce destroyers you run lowend sites, for cruisers you get better results in highends. Ofc we do not know how t3 destroyers will work at all yet.
Changes to the way the different waves work to make them scale in difficulty. So it could be possible to only run the first wave with bad skills, but then salvage it and get some reward. With better skills/ships or more people you would be able to complete the site.
Escalation of sites to in-system-sites one class higher somewhat like k-space escalations. Would break the boredom of always the same sites and could help prepare people to move up the classes.
(Re-)Adjustment to ores in gravs. Someone pointed out it got changed a while back and is now not useable for production. Again, if some induguy had names and numbers that would probably be good.

I was hoping the introduction of T3 Destroyers would increase the demand for low end gas. I'm fine with the low market value, as they are easy to come by, but it would be nice if they actually sold. Either way, anything that tightens up the market for low end gas is a good thing. So +1 |

That's really impossible. If you're referring to C5/6 sites there is a very limited number of ship comps that can even survive the sites, to say nothing of doing so in an efficient way.
Which other types of PVE are you referring to? Mining? Since it's limited to barges that's the only more-limited PVE type that I can think of.
Null/low/missions can be run in literally anything.
Incursions are primarily limited by the strictness of the group running them.
Furthermore, I've never seen ABC's, CS or much of anything other than marauders running high-end WH anoms. This is because the other things require such large groups that the isk/hr is diluted to the point of ridiculousness.
What kind of PVE is more restrictive?
Also, note that C5/6 sites are almost only ran with capital escalations. Particularly since the changes to RR and such there has been a marked drop in site runners. Maybe the slight payout increase will help, but I don't see where your thinking comes from on this one. Please explain.

I would like there to be solo content in all classes of wormhole. This could be achieved through changing data sites by reducing the number of sleepers. The difficulty sound still ramp up as you go up in class but all all the data sites would be able to be completed using a sub cap. The blue loot and salvage from the missing sleepers could be moved to cans.
This gives solo guys in high classes something to do in off peak times and it also gives day trippers and solo guys from low class, systems easier access to high value sites in c5/c6 space.

Basically, the Sleepers spawn 100-150km away, and in the Barracks, they want to stay at that range. It is annoying because they start shooting their weapons, but they won't hit you from that distance. You have to cuss yourself for not having a SEBO, slow-boat there, MJD, do warp tricks, blablah.

Frontier barracks, in the C4.
See my video of doing it in the Enyos. Because we are, as I say, "up in their balls" instantly, when we kill wave 2, wave 3 is 150km away. The only saving grace is they burn towards us at 2km/s and we toward them at 2km/s, which makes it only about 45s of dead time. But try that in any non-Golem or cruise phoon setup and good luck not being bored. Or wasting 5 minutes.
C4 PVE is all about positioning and projecting max DPS out +100km. Or Enyo's in W-R, as above.
other Little Things;
- Warp at zero lands you up to 120km off cans in some radars (C2, C4, can't for the life of me remember doing C3 relic or data).
- Argos or whatever they are called these days, wakeful sentries or something - their sig radius is unfeasibly small. You literally cannot hit them with turrets some times.
- As above, drones cannot hit things in BH effect wormholes at times, due to orbiting the sentries too fast for the poor little drone tracking vs the unfeasibly small sentry signature radius. Means that Bouncer II's in C4 BH are worthless for taking sentries out.
- OMG the gas clouds. Seriously, I have a 1GB onboard ATI Radeon card, 3 years old, and my computer just dies inside when I scroll in. I haven't looked at my ship beyond seeing the white box of the bracket for THREE YEARS. These god damned gas nebulae are not even pretty - just a farty yellow plague on my machine and my ability to zoom in to see if a hapless Tengu is aligned anywhere in particular. And for what? Ambience?
- W-space relic and data sites. Hey, you know what, just remove the cans entirely, and put the hull sections into the sentries as loot drops, because ZOMG fuq hacking those cans. No one does below C5's, it's a worthless exercise in self-flagellation.
- Y U 80km from belt in some ore sites when miners warp in? Liek, we has to BM rock and warp off and back, just to be anywhere near the ore site. Thx for waste 5 minutes of my time.
- 5 sentries in a gas site. fuq dat.

I'm referring to C4 sites here, like most comments, I don't recall spawn ranges in C5 sites being a huge issue. In this short time I've been in C4s I've already tried solo marauding, CS+marauder, solo MJD Hyperion, RR Domis (3-4 guys), ABC fleet (5-6 guys) and all of these were perfectly efficient.

BS and marauders are most efficient in missions, exploration is almost solely done in Ishtars and Tengus, and gl trying for efficiency in Incursions without a pirate BS or T2 logi cruiser. I don't honestly see sleeper PVE more restrictive than these.

I don't see much wrong in C5/6 focusing on capital escalations, what is your point? I find it quite ok that there's subcap PVE in C4s and below, and cap escalations in above, something for everyone.

I'd agree with this. I do this C5 "cherry picking" frequently and it is dangerous as all f*ck to me running them solo. I spend easily 45 minutes to an hour in a site to clear the sleepers except the trigger and then hack the cans. Yes, there are more efficient methods but I use a very inexpensive fit and take the risk of time to reap the benefits of C5 level relic loot that I otherwise would have no access to. It is one of the most exciting PvE experiences I have had in EVE. I wish it could be done on more sites including those in C3 and C4 space. It not only is an income source for the tactical player but it also negatively impacts the local residents by me running a site that otherwise would be more lucrative to them.

- Allow all gas sites (incl. low/null) to spawn in all classes of wormholes. Daytrippers and chain explorers often end up in wormhole classes far different than their "home" system. Just like you have the best ores across all wormhole space, spreading the gas types around will mean more accessible content in a variety of systems for a variety of player levels.
- Make ore anomalies into signatures again. Promotes mining. I know your numbers say the amount hasn't changed but that's likely simply because the people who want to mine ore will mine ore regardless but with renewed interest in wormhole space, making ore into signatures may bring some non-miners back into the activity
- Change data/relic sites so that the first wave is tankable by a solo player for "cherry picking" the sites. Specifically, remove the Battleship from wave 1 of the Forgotten Frontier Evacuation Center. It does not have the Argos gun so that would make wave 1 tankable. See below for additional.
- Change the can hacking mechanic on data/relic sites in C4 so that failed attempts do not spawn additional waves. See above. I know this happens in C4 sites, not sure about lower class. This prevents cherry picking which can be excellent content for a solo player similar to ninja gas mining, etc.

Making it too easy to get the loot out has contributed to the rapid decline of their value, these days its not even worth your time to open them. I know several people that just spam trying to get it, and dont even bother trying to actually play the game because the chance of getting a easy shot to the system core is decently high enough.

Also, currently it seems like Grav sites last about 24 hours once you warp to them. For me it would be beneficial if they lasted longer, like 48 hours. I don't want to keep sites open too long because they do need to go away so others get their spawns. Even 36 hours would be better than nothing. Then I could kick one open on a weeknight and get two full evenings out of it. Right now, if I get home at 6pm and open one it will close about the time I get home the next night. |

As someone who takes advantages of the unlimited tries, I'm fine with this as well. The fact that the new null data/relics in WHs exploded on 2nd failure is fine with me and as made me upgrade my rigs as well as my skills to compensate for failure rate. That is a good thing. |

Yeah but the hacking game is a ******* joke! It barely qualifies as a game... I hope it gets improved before the explosion mechanic is introduced to wormhole space.

That may have been the case when they were sigs, but it doesn't seem like it is now. At least not in my experience. I've opened 2 of them in my C2 so far and neither one lasted more than a day. It's possible somebody else warped to them before I did though. If they are 72 hours then I'm fine with that. |

This is true for all sites. Putting a timer on any signature or anomaly regardless of activation would prevent sites from pooling in unoccupied systems. That being said, stumbling on one of those "goldmine" systems is quite a thrill that I'm not sure I would want to give up |

I wonder if it would be a negative or positive effect if having a ship active (logged on) inside a wormhole caused the timer to start without warping or otherwise interacting with each anom/sig individually. If the timer was sufficiently long, say 1 week or more, it may not be a negative effect on a home system (all sigs start counting basically as soon as they spawn) but then the lone scout moving through a chain would be triggering a wave of respawns in systems that maybe were otherwise untouched. |

If the player warping in is not in a frigate (and if he/she intends to run the site, they shouldn't be), then there shouldn't be too much of an issue.
My knowledge is old, so it may well be out of date, but don't these turrets have serious trouble tracking cruiser sized targets with even basic speed mods? My AB fit Sacrilege certainly didn't get hit much once I got my speed up a bit.
Sitting still after warp-in meant my shields were gone in a handful of hits, but once you're moving they won't hurt much.
However, I will say again, this was a long time ago, so CCP may have changed it, but that would be quite a drastic change.

My only complaint is that the graphics effects on gas sites and some combat sites melts my video card, and I get huge lag panning around. They really need to optimize the effect generation so that I don't have to move my camera perspective somewhere else in order for the game to be playable. |

There's a chance that eliminating the timer that starts when a site is first warped to would increase conflict, since people would be driven to run the sites in foreign systems, instead of what I see today which is people initiate warp to all the sites in their static, to ensure that none of them survive 3 days without spawning somewhere else, even if they're not going to run them themselves. |

A few Little Things:
- I'm not opposed to the presence of sentries in sites and their difficulty as it has been mentioned before (I do like them), but I think at least they should drop something when destroyed, even if it's just an empty wreck or an standard wreck+blue loot. At least that would balance their other issues.
- I approve of Ore Sites to have a warp-in point located a bit closer to the asteroids. Yes, you might get some more time if someone warps to the site, and using a MWD Venture/Prospect does reduce travel time, but is still a very long distance (in the 100 km order of magnitude). I'd suggest to reduce it to about 80 km as maximum, similar to Gas Sites. You'll still need to bookmark the asteroids for your mining barges if you want to be quick and as safe as possible, though. Unless that's intended.
- As others posted, Data/Relic sites could have their loot concentrated in just a few cans (3-ish), instead of making you trace a full circle of cans for several minutes.
- Those non-harvestable gas clouds are pretty, but they destroy FPS even for high-end machines. I'm sure there are other ways to add some cool ambience without using something so CPU consuming. An improvement in this matter would also help K-space sites, even Mission ones.
- Not sure about the current state of C4, but before the first wave of changes to W-space they were problematic for PVE because they had difficult rats but no Capital Escalations. So, if it's still the case, what about Subcapital Escalations for this class? When enough battleships are on grid, an special reinforcement wave spawns, which might even have 1-2 of the ++ber-Sleeper-battleships that spawn on Capital Escalations, along with their associated, expensive loot. So C4 PVEers would get a small glance at Capital Escalations' money, without reaching those levels, but while being above C3's and not having to use capital ships.
- Some more new variants of Sleeper ships and structures, along with their own models, would be pretty cool and refreshing. Perhaps true Sleeper drones? Sleeper dreadnought? New variants for already existing classes? And please, give Sleepers their own, moving turrets; they keep shooting from their armor plates.
Hope this helps. |

As is stands, capital escalations in C5s and C6s are far too easily exploited in red giant and magnetar type wormholes due to the consistent spawn location of the sleepless guardian battleships. In a red giant, with the requisite number of capitals, a half dozen smartbombing battleships will clear the entire field of a fully escalated site of sleepless guardians in approximately 30 seconds. In a magnetar, a dreadnought warping in at the spawn point can run the site solo as the guardians will have zero transversal as they burn from the spawn point to establish an orbit at about 40km. The lone dreadnought can kill them all beore they reach said orbit due to the higher damage output. The site is then further escalated by warping further capitals at extreme ranges. Randomized spawn locations would prevent such activities and still allow sites to be run by more "traditional" methods. Should be trivially easy to implement and will benefit everyone that isn't in an exclusive club that gets to call one of the aforementioned wormholes home.

Newsflash: the single dread method works in every hole, even in CV and BH. But again, how many people do that?
The change you propose would affect almost all groups that run their escalations in the traditional way since they would now
a) need to wait for the guardians to get in webbing range b) have less applied dps since the guardians are no longer in optimal and have greater transversal ...
Bottom line this would necessitate an additional siege cycle for most small to medium-sized groups - Congratulations, you just nerfed efficiency by 20-30%, way to balance things around just a few groups |

I warped to 100 for that test, normally warp to 0 and the frame rate drops to 30-40. Either way that's proof of how much performance the clouds alone eat up, 75% of my frame rate disappeared even at extreme draw distances because CCPs fancy volumetric clouds are poorly optimised.

2nd wave not too bad as you can trigger it early so they burn to you, but third wave sometimes results in wrecks out of range of tractors. With the new RR and the fact it's no longer soloable you can almost double the time spent in this anom as compared to Frontier Barracks for instance.
.. and the sig for Sentries being far too small. Took to sitting perfectly still in a blaster proteus to ensure decent hits so it's not just a sentry drone easy-mode thing.

It is in fact soloable and takes 25-26 minutes in a wh without fx. The sentries are ridiculously small sig no arguing, but still easily killable with large blasters and Null.

As for your concerns, I didn't specify where they should spawn, just that it shouldn't be consistent. They could still spawn at the same range from the warp-in point from the site and therefore those who run them "normally" would be completely unaffected. Ranges would be the same and webbing would remain unchanged. |

It should say there, in the description, what are the environmental effects of your current system and what class of wh you are in.
Currently, I think, the only way to get that information is from online databases.
So, please add the wh class and environmental effects to the solar system information page.

Mixed views on this one,
on the one hand, it virtually forces you to look outside your immidiate environment and use mapping tools, or other player generated access methods.
On the other , it encourages you to look outside your immidiate environment and use mapping tools, or other player generated access methods.
On the gripping hand, should we know any of this information at all?
I think there are probably a mixed range of opinions as to which has greater validity.
I imagine that CCP will avoid the whole argument, and make the new space even more "intel restricted"

PI material and planet data is set to be at 0.0 space yet a WH pilot doing PI has no advanced warning (Local Chat) that he may be in danger and so he should get better PI with his extra risk then the nullsec PI user. Increase the pool of sites in C3 and C4. Fully implement your PVE changes list, SHIP IT. Make Data/relic sites worthwhile to run and not just for the blue loot and ribbons. Also should prob fix the being able to solo tank the first wave of C5 Data/Relics to straight away hack the cans... (I made some sweet ISK from that but is it right? Prob not) All of the above, except nerfing the C5 data relic ability to do first wave. This should be an option for all sites, balance them so the waves trigger on a tankable cruiser. This was proposed by Keith originally. Allows for people to play "up" a class when solo or small group of lower class residents away from the home system. I wish it could be done on more sites. It not only is an income source for the tactical player but it also negatively impacts the local residents by me running a site that otherwise would be more lucrative to them. I would agree with all of this. Including leaving the ability to "solo" the C5 data/relic sites. This represents some of the more exciting (tense/anxiety inducing) moments in Eve PVE because in many cases you're totally vulnerable for the duration of the endeavor.
ExookiZ wrote:Make the cans in Data/relic sites explode if you screw up more than once. Just like k space.
Making it too easy to get the loot out has contributed to the rapid decline of their value, these days its not even worth your time to open them. I know several people that just spam trying to get it, and dont even bother trying to actually play the game because the chance of getting a easy shot to the system core is decently high enough I disagree with this. Anything that keeps a pilot active and in space (and especially vulnerable to attack) is good. Leaving the hacking mechanic as it currently is (unlimited attempts) in wspace means that for those with lower skills, lower equipment or bad luck remain vulnerable longer. This is good. It provides opportunity to hunt them and engage them. If the mechanic is changed to blow up after two failed attempts that just means those pilots are on field for a shorter amount of time. This is bad for the hunters.
I don't think altering this mechanic would have any significant impact on the prices of the relic materials. If we look at kspace as a comparison values of salvage for relic loot and data (lol) has been dropping for a long time now. This is because there are more people in general doing exploration thanks the Odyssey "nerf" and that's even with the explode after two fails already. So it hasn't had aneffect on moving the price up at all. This problem (more explorers) is compounded in wspace because there isn't much utility for that relic loot and the main use of it (T3) has seen a drop in usage over time. Some of the changes that CCP is making (T3 dessies and whatever else they do) might have a positive effect on the values of this material over time.

It provides opportunity to hunt them and engage them. If the mechanic is changed to blow up after two failed attempts that just means those pilots are on field for a shorter amount of time. This is bad for the hunters.
TL;DR keep sites the same so we can beat up on newbros
Personally I think the income from these wh data/relic sites needs a buff in the form of more demand for them.
One little thing I wanna add is can we get random spawn distances for capital escalations? No idea if it's been suggested before, can't be bothered to read the whole thread through. I wanna see people have to use triage/web lokis in sites again

If that is what you took away from my comment you should reread it without the "grr farmers, grr hunters" whatever it is you have going on. I've got absolutely nothing against "newbros" in wspace. Nothing. You're way off base on this one. That said, it's slightly unlikely for "newbros" to be soloing C5 data/relic sites in the first place, nevermind successfully. Besides, newbros are far from the only people who do not so smart things in space while not paying attention to their surroundings.
The actual TL;DR if you really want one (though my comment's length wasn't very long in the first place); More pilots in space outside of POS shields and uncloaked doing "things" is better for all involved.

No disagreement on this point. I also think that the "Polarized" weapons and incoming T3 Destroyers will help in this regard. I'd also not be surprised to find that CCP has other unannounced additions that will leverage this material.

You should read - it's been suggested many times over.

No, I was actually taking a swipe at your idea of making things more vulnerable for the new guy off a purely arbitratry figure. I'm not "Grr Farmers" or "Grr Hunters" at all. I just feel one's vulnerability in space should be dictated more by your abilities and awareness as a player rather then as a 'time lock' by SP.

Advanced bookmark method has compeltely made using lokis redundant. 5 minute sites with 4-5 dreads, no lokis required. Everyone is jumping on this bandwagon |

I still have no idea what any of this has to do with "new guys". And what arbitrary number are you referring to? Currently, there's no arbitrary number involved in hacking wspace sites. You try until you succeed. Period. That could be first attempt and 20s or it could be half a dozen and 4-5 minutes. In that time it's possible for someone else to spot you doing things and start looking for you. It's content. Hunter/Hunted.

Would appear that there are still lots of people doing the old standard triage/loki/etc. Seems a fleet of them dies each week at least.
To get back on topic; I don't see a change in profitability of Relic loot or Data loot by introducing the can explosion. It has had no impact on the profitability of kspace data/relic loot.

It'd be nice if bookmarks had sub-second resolution (I see different sort order based on time for different characters sometimes) and separate creation time from last-modified time. If you copy a bookmark for someone, it holds the original creation time, but it would have a last-modified time matching when you imported it into your bookmarks. |

There should be a timer going but I think its borked.
Also 4 days is too short. 1 week should suffice (gives people or a group a chance to do these on the weekend if they so choose to).
But there needs to be a working despawn timer.

sites should despawn when they are done if you warp it but warp out you start timers. site should last as long as last sleeper in combat anom and as long as last rock last in ore
add scannable sleeper combat sites like we have unrated and deadspace sites in hihg/low/null we shud have sleeper deadspaces
make ore sites scannable and extend their lifetime |

I think most would agree with you regarding the ore sites being a signature again.
Whilst it may have value for nullsec as it now is, in wormhole space it is simply not sane to mine unless the hole is completely buttoned up, and then of course it does not matter one way or another.
In a wormhole without total hole control it is simple insanity to attempt to mine ore. So people do not. It is not increasing risk. It is removing it, as accepting that level of risk is not a valid choice
It would be nice to see miners in space again for all the reasons, and that will not happen until it become reasonable to do so.
And I second your positive thoughts on the upcoming changes. Possibly the new ice and ore belts in the shattered space may reduce the level of risk from suicidal to merely extraordinarily high. I have not heard if those will be an anomoly or a signature, hopefully the latter.

MooMoo's Minor Miner fix: Add higth-end ore rocks (including +10%'s and such) to the anoms/signatures in WH space. This would allow miners the opportunity to miner safely, they'd just need to clear the signature, and then leave someone in the site. The spot turns into a safe the moment you trigger the last wave, and this way miners who were wanting to just warp somewhere and mine could still have their anoms, and smarter/more broadly skilled (read:some pvp) miners could access a more lucrative, more secure method.
Of course, this brings in the new variable of needing a marauder or something to clear the site, but if you're living in a class of WH where you can't clear the anoms, GTFO. This might also make lower-end WH's more enticing as you might make the lower-end sites just as easy to clear as they are now, but containing similar ores, perhaps in smaller quantities.
Thoughts/flames/inquiries into my mental state/orientation?

I like that, but let the ore not despawn, so you can bookmark it and switch ships, the prospect would thrive in that site, hard to scan down, but still vunerable to a smart scanner if the miner was not cautious. I believe people used to do this in mission deadspace areas in Kspace? Maybe they still do.
Nice idea.
Disclaimer, I personally do not enjoy mining, but something to hunt that is not the equivalent of having ones prey tied down would be nice, not that one sees miners any more other than the terminally careless or bait, (mostly bait).

Sleepers de-aggressing when you move like 200-300 km away from their spawn or center of site or so.
It looks strange to me when there is a carrier sitting 20km away from a t3 that is taking all the heat of the site and repping it and Sleepers never turning on the carrier. Then the t3 moves 5km further away from the site and the whole lot of sleepers just stops shooting and slowboats back towards the site.
I dont know whether this is just how it was designed or a bug or exploit or whatever. I never really used this mechanic but i have come across people who use it.

TheBlueFox wrote:As is stands, capital escalations in C5s and C6s are far too easily exploited in red giant and magnetar type wormholes due to the consistent spawn location of the sleepless guardian battleships. The lone dreadnought can kill them all before they reach said orbit due to the higher damage output. The site is then further escalated by warping further capitals at extreme ranges. Randomized spawn locations would prevent such activities and still allow sites to be run by more "traditional" methods. Should be trivially easy to implement and will benefit everyone that isn't in an exclusive club that gets to call one of the aforementioned wormholes home..
Wrong, A nag/Moros can still do this in any hole quite easily, Yes it would take an extra siege cycle but is still doable.
Theres not many people who do this, Its extremely risky... Sticking a 4b dread ON ITS OWN in a site sieged.
Your Dead if you get rolled into 100% Your Dead if sleeper battleships gets outta range, which sometimes they do because of the collision mechanic.. Your Dead if you cap out, your having 8+ neuts on you constantly + having to pulse your repper + Moros guns Your Dead if you bollocks up the bookmarks - Easily done.
Theres ALOT of risk doing this method, which is why not many people do it. Plus there's plenty of Magnatars available so i dont know why your whining about it being a Select few.
On to the C6 Red Giant smartbombing method. Its ****** because of the changes to Isboxer.
There is no solution to this problem, If they changed the spawn mechanics to random, people would warp a carrier into the site, spawn the escalation wave, warp out. bring in the zep, BM there location and then warp the dread back in.... Same problem again.
Its not a broken mechanic, its extremely risky to do which is why only a select number of people do it.

Once you have the " Randomized spawn location " warp the rest of your caps in at range = quad escalation.
Risk vs reward your putting an unguarded dread in a site, on its own.... risky |

The simplest way of achieving this may be to make the trigger for each wave something that can be tanked in a light ship. Whilst this will not open up all sites, Even amending the triggers in this way will open up some. Popping in a couple of C2 sites across the classes would also be helpful. A wider rebalance when time is available to open them up to being run in this way would be appreciated by many.

PVE is a conflict driver for PVP. You cannot look at PVP independently of PVE. To do so is a failure to understand the intricate way in which they are related.
Any changes specifically made with only PVP in mind, while ignoring the impact on PVE, may have unexpected or counter-productive results. |

I think this would be epic for lower class WH folks. Maybe once every weekor two they get a C5 or C6 site. A great way to introduce low end wh guys to the higher end sites. Plus a lot of folks could use/lose those trapped capital ships that are/were built in the lower end wh. It would be exciting content for lower class guys, promote teamwork - there is just so much good that could come out of this. It seems like it would be super easy for CCP to drop different sites into different class wh and super easy to control/balance the spawn rates.
I'm no programmer, but this seems like a lot of bang for the buck.

And it also introduces soloable content into higher class wormholes as well. |

And with the confessor launch, the sites are worth ~45M/ea. (or were, haven't looked to see if C72 prices have held up or not) |

i may sound like a broken record saying this, but this has been on my mind for some time now.
Since we live in wh-space im basing it around sleeper(PVE)
1) MOON-GOO?
A) We ALL live on moons with pos's.....seems reasonable that the moons would have something on them? B) It would produce a component that only came in use creating sleeper tech/t3's and so on. C) Like all thing W-space its either there or its not. Meaning that once you have sucked it up it may not come back for some time. D) Something else we can use those mobile siphon units on.
2) Marauder Escalation?
A) C1-C4 Class wormhole sites will spawn a "mini" battleship escalation with the activation of a bastion module? or simply when marauders warp into the site. B) Would Provide larger generation of isk for lower class wh's and bit more "risk" in the pve side of sites. C) Larger groups could afford to live in small class wh's
3) Sleeper incursions?
A) Randomly attacking everything in their target system that is player owned. Content generation that would make sooting red cross's a bit more interesting B) Systems wh's would be very unstable with either massive amount of mass on it or very little at all. C) Unique sites to run in effected systems. D) Sleepers attacking player owned structures would kinda empty out the random dead towers floating around w-space.
4) All forms of Gas? A) Drug Gas!! B) Reduce the amount of cargo space required to haul some of the cheaper gas's
Just some ideas i have had for awhile hopefully some ppl agree these would be kewl. Ik there are a few ppl who will no doubt cry and proclaim that these ideas are killing their sandbox. I on the other hand love change. And some of these may bring more ppl into wh-space increasing the content!!!!!!!!

1. sleepers A) they should be able to launch interdiction bubble when they spot capitall ship, to free up the ship destroy the special sleeper B) sleeper haulers , should spawn in ore/gas and on destroying they should contain minera/sore and eventual stored gas C) sleepers should attack and destroy offline control towers after 30days if inactivity D ) there should be also scannable sleeper deadspace sites DED 11 DED 12 DED 13 DED 14 and DED 15
2. mining A) asteroid sites should be scannable, contain larger amount of ore, and much more B) the low-end chap ores should be lighter so you can mine move for lower cargo space usage C) ore sites should be despawning after 10days of inactivity instead of 3days on activation. D) in ore/gas sites thete should be no bubble rule. so hic/dictor wont be able to trap someone , and anchoring bubbles also not allowed so miners could mine in less stress. E) strip miners should be fittable on all ships that can harvest ore F) gas harvesters upgrade to reduce cycle time and increase yield
3. POSes A) add ability to self destruct control tower and structures within only available to ceo/director. what could it do? within 100km of control tower there could be large explosion that will destroy evrything within its range, including ships, pods ,and all pos structures too. could be activated only when control tower is online for more than 60 days. it could require enriched uranium in large amounts B) lift roles need for starbase anchoring and replace it with anchoring limits from 0 to 10 for corp members, so evyone can launch its own pos without needing the special roles C) faction towers should give even more powergrid/cpu output . or atleast give us structure that will reduce cpu/powergrid need for defenses to make pos more deadly D) turn back to life systems canning array , tracking enchancers
4.industry A) increase total jobs for laboratories to 10 B) increase total jobs to 10 for producing ships
5 moon mining A) we should have the materials to mine for producing t3 components B) not all moons should have resources valuable to mine so scan them C) moon mining laser for venture/prospect to extract the specific minerals but limited types and not evrywhere
6. Rats A) faction data/relics should contain specific faction rats to guard them so to hack and loot you hve to fight B) when wormhole has faction ghost site present, that faction should occupy wormhole entrances for site lifetime duration, when site despawns, rats disappear C) shattered wormhole ice belts shall spawn sleeper and regular faction rats
7. wormholes A) add few cruiser size only, battlecruiser size only and battleship size only wormholes , that will permit specified ship to go throught B) increase lifetime for lower-clas wormholes static to 48hours wandering connections - 24 hours , C) reduce frigate hole spawn D) shattered wormholes should jabe atleast one moon so first come first serve E) sun mining to harvest solar winds so you could recevie average amounts of sun materials depending on type of sun
8. highsec A) in 0.5 systems cruiser sized rats should be present B) increase chance for rare asteroid spawn in belts from 1 to 5 of each asteroids , low quantity C) add extra scannable ore sites in rookie systems for new players, D) rookie systems should have instant-death concord response E) rookie systems shall have advanced security system , rookie pilots should not be able at all to loot yellow containers or shooting suspect players. dueling rookie pilots should not be possible , best way is to auto-disable duel invites when new players logins to game. F) remove wormhole spawn from rookie systems.
9. lowsec A) we need more and valuable ore o belts B) missions lvl 5 should allow carriers on grid for extra escalation , anyway all missions need to be fixed. C) if you shoot pos/poco in lowsec instead of suspect you should be criminal flagged even if you wont destroy it D) more wormhols from lowsec to nullsec and to highsec systems
nullsec ) A) just give us more valuable ore to belts, currently they have but systems with only one or two asteroid belts should get extra ore amounts B) more wormhole connections to other nullsec systems and lowsec systems , higher wormhole spawn to high security space
10. Death A) podding should give us only one penalty instead of implant loss , we should be unable to undock for 5 minutes untill new capsule is constructed for you, cannot board any ship for 5 minutes after podding B) after you get podded, you should be able to select station where you want to be born again C) corpses should be salvagable and biomass recovered sush vater, electrolytes, microorganisms. D) very small chance for salvaging implant when corpse salvaging attempted.

I say add a single sentry gun to all gas sites to keep people from ninja-ing. Have it replace 3 frigs or 2 cruisers in the spawn.
Have sentry guns drop blue loot and make them leave wreaks to salvage.
Do..... Something to mining in WH's.....
Although you'll need to fix mining as a whole first. Day-tripping into a WH should be a decent although dangerous option, for a mining crop to try out. Not an unnecessary risk because the High-sec ores are worth more and easier to access.

Why would stopping people Ninja gas mining be a good thing? Surely more life in wormholes and more in space is something to be encouraged?
I do agree however that looting or salvaging from the existing sentry guns has value as an idea.
And Mining where the hole is not buttoned up is currently beyond risky, approaching borderline insanity, something to encourage mining out of the home hole, would be valuable.

i would like a deployable for scanning that will scan out everything in the system, however, at the same time it could be made interesting/balanced by making it work like a cyno, creating powerful scanning effects that can be warped to by anyone in the system, and keeps you immobile for a certain amount of time while it scans |

Its actually rly awesome tool to analyze and "lesson learned" thing. PS: and hotkey for d-scan also. Or at least make this button bigger^^ It's not programmed in and I don't know of any live ones, but there are DPS tools you can use to get your dps from a fight. |

Sites in C4 and below re-spawn quickly
There needs to be a huge incentive to get into wormholes. Most of the systems are empty, or people are in them running sites. It would be great to see more people in wspace. I'm not sure how to do this, but ISK should be an easy one. With unlimited sites in lower class wormholes, that should help out the smaller guys quite a bit for isk making opportunities.
Can the site in lower class wormholes re-spawn at the same rate as null sec sites? Maybe this will encourage more people into lower class wormholes for PVE and ultimately more PVP.
If you live in a c3 and your sites are gone, you basically log out for a week to wait for sites to respawn. If you live in a c2 or c4 with wspace statics then it might be easier to farm your static and roll for a new one.
Fix POS + Corp Roles
Since living in a POS is required for wspace living, we have personal CHA, but personal SMA would be great for smaller corps, provided the corp director can view all contents, otherwise each person needs his own POS, to prevent theft from new members.

Selected point in bold/underlined.... I would love to see something done to encourage mining outside of your home without the, almost, requirement to have a fleet waiting to bail you out when you get dropped on by just about anyone who sees you. You shouldn't have to move into a system to be able to mine it with an acceptable risk/reward. The Venture/Prospect line springs to mind, maybe another ORE ship that is bonused for ninja mining, falls between the Venture/Prospect and T1 barges on the scale of yield so it won't edge out T1/T2 mining ships. Or maybe even another T2 Venture that compresses? Just a thought that I, literally, just made up so don't go crazy. |
