Concord gave us a crappy event: they brought us to a system and did not even give us a chance to chase down this "Nyx" before it was long destroyed.
We give them revenge!

Inspector Ronier > It was unwise to engage CONCORD. You will be dealt with.
Eschwen > It was unwise to lead a group of pod pilots on a wild goose chase. Perhaps next time you will think twice before wasting our time.

Clearly CONCORD does not care about the life of their agents, as all of their agents have been ruthlessly destroyed by this mob that they created!

Simple.
1. CONCORD calls everyone to help kill a Nyx. They say everyone who comes to Stacmon will "be rewarded." 2. People come from all corners of the universe to join. 3. CONCORD gets ready to head off. A gang is formed by the players. 4. CONCORD says "uh, sorry, GF and 3FA already got the Nyx." 5. Players get ****ed. 6. Players kill all of the CONCORD NPCs.

Let me get this straight (and out of character)...
AURORA made an event involving Concord chasing a Nyx. As usual, they recruited the players to help out, but as most of the events, this one was a disappointment. So instead of saying "oh well" the players said "hell no" and killed the AURORA team? And in return, all the involved players got CONCORDOKENED?
Am I anywhere near right?

What silly CONCORD dude created an event in Syndicate and thought to lead an unorganized gang there. They are lucky they didnt just jup their event into a 200 person camp.
Isnt it time you learned how to fight back? |

AURORA actors are unaffected by CONCORD: you can kill them and not get CONCORDOKKEN'd.

Also, the NPC gave the players info that they would "Be rewarded" simply because they came to Stacmon and participated. They were not, apparently. So they killed the CONCORD ships to get their loot and thus their reward.
Allow me to say - Geeees... Don't feel like I missed something. As usual!

Yeah I was not in a combat ship at the time. However, I led the gang, so I figured I would post.
Here's the last ship killmail. Oh, and thanks to Lofty for spamming gang invites before we got the news of the Nyx's destruction, so that the mob was large and angry enough afterwards to kill all of CONCORD!

Pity it wasn't a Titan. Then Goonswarm could've just been Podswarm.
Funny though. Players get all geared up to go kill a Nyx, and given the makeup, I bet people took forever gathering, so in that delay, alliances that probably noticeda cyno in their area, go to investigate...
"Hey a Nyx, call in the troops we got a bigass target to kill."(or probably more like "OMG EVENT MOTHERSHIP! ZERG RUSH KEKEKE!" )
Alliances pop Nyx, empire kids get mad that they got beaten to the ship, and attack some CONCORD ships which seeme to lack the wtfpwnage of the NPC ones.
I missing anything here?
Also what's this 'we' DS? I'm not seeing your name on any CONCORD killmail.

You realize, of course, several things
1: 2 Armageddons, 2 Feroxes, 2 Thoraxes, 1 Dominix, 1 Megathron, 1 Brutix, 1 Wolf, 1 Stabber, 1 Malediction, 1 Taranis, and one Omen vs. 4 CONCORD Special Ops Cruisers isn't exactly a fair fight, even though their CONCORD
2: This only worked because AUROURA chars don't get CONCORD help, which from an RP perspective makes no sense.
3: Would people who wanted to help defend the CONCORD agents be able to shoot the attackers? likely not (someone correct me if i'm wrong)
4: In the chatlog posted, i see no mention of a reward, just the asking for help to destroy a nyx stolen by serpentis.
5: They gave you a chance to shoot the nyx, goonswarm simply beat you to it. Stop whining and get over it, you wasted 30 minutes, maybe an hour. -------

Sounds odd they'd promise a reward for just 'showing up', but CONCORD probably isn't the brightest bunch.

Edited by: BobZumda on 26/08/2006 21:13:58 The bounty on the ship was 750 million ISK. I am sure that, coupled with all the tech 2 drones and faction loot is the reward they were talking about.
The Nyx jumped into a normally dead system in Syndicate where a solitary goonSwarm ratter was scrapping up some ISK. He put out a call in a joint GoonSwarm - 3FA defense channel and around 100 people rallied there in 15 minutes.

The fight started as 4 concord ships versus 2 or 3 of us. More came as the fight progressed. By the end, of course, it was a massacre. But that is the story of an angry mob, and thats what happens.
GF didn't "beat us to it": CONCORD never had a chance to get there in time. They promised a reward, but the mob did not receive it, and so the mob tore the CONCORD ships to pieces to get their "reward."

Precisely, you got beaten to it by the goons, 3fa, and whomever else got in on it.
I think a permanent -5.0 status wouldn't be too much of a problem from an RP perspective, after all, you fired on CONCORD (no, missions don't count for firing on concord). That, and it'd give CONCORD friendly players a chance to show their flag -------

If you would get -5.0 from firing on CONCORD, what about all the newbies who accidentally target and attack CONCORD? Are their characters ruined?
Such a game mechanic change is silly IMO. And not on topic either.

Should've thought of that before you attacked Concord hmm?
0.0 isn't actually that dangerous once you get past the entry systems. Also, 500k bs's are wimps, a decently fitted assault frigate can blow one with no problems. 4, maybe 5 hours light ratting in 0.0 and my secstatus went up by 0.2 and i was at 4.2 at the time.
I've never tried it, but i suppose a decently fitted cruiser could do well enough against the bc spawns and perhaps the single low-isk bs spawns as well. Heck, even an interceptor can rat fine. Also, from what i've heard, the lower your secstatus, the bigger the boost from killing npc's -------

Here's what would be a good idea, but will never, ever happen. Viceroy suggested something like this.
CONCORD comes back to hunt those who attacked them, and some AURORA come out of the works to lead the victims of the CONCORD attack (claim its unfair, abuse of power, etc). Some players join the more powerful CONCORD side, others join the player side, and the event plays out.
That would be awesome.

Question: when exactly did this event start, relative to the time at which it was ended and the slaughter of CONCORD began? I got sucked in about halfway through, by my own estimates.

Goon got the Nyx only 15 minutes after it appeared, I believe.
CONCORD hadn't even taken off when it was killed.

I lost my ship at 18:52, and I think Concord agents first put out a call in the Gallente Chat channel at about 18:45. So I'd guess it started between 18:30 and 18:45 ------------------------ The Almighty says this must be a fashionable fight. It's drawn the finest people. - an Amarr Mercenary |

Well. Put it this way. Concord put out a notice in oursu local at about 18:50. I had a taranis fitted by 18:52 and headed to stacmon (about 11 jumps) at 4km/s. Took 10 mins. 5 minutes later, we attacked concord. ---------------------------

Edited by: AlienBreed on 26/08/2006 23:21:04 actually i feel there are a few points that need to be raised here about the incident tonight and the nyx that escaped justice and ran amok
firstly is it possible that 3FA could get a proper copy of the kill mail for our records, what we have was trunicated to death and many people didnt get the recognition they deserved
secondly goon fleet took the final blow however it was 3FA that bravely engaged this criminal first, and whilest i do not grudge our friends in goonfleet their moment of glory, nobody from 3FA have seen 1 isk of the bounty that was spoken of, nor any share of the loot. Our guys lost ships there and we didnt come in frigates, it would be nice if concord would recognise our service to law and order , perhaps a medal or award of some kind? i dont know
3FA is a highly motivated and law abiding force for good in the lower syndicate area and we are always ready to come to the aid of concord should it be required

Someone wanted to know about response times. From my game logs I have the following
[19:00:20] Inspector Miroodt > According to our readings, Siral has jumped into PFP-GU.
First info 3FA has on this. Assembles fleet in its home system.
then....
[ 2006.08.26 19:44:54 ] (combat) <color=0xffbbbb00>Your 425mm Railgun I is well aimed at Admiral Siral (Nyx), inflicting 106.4 damage. Was pretty much the first shot onto the Nyx, it warped to the 3FA fleet at Planet 2. Shortly after we were supported by Goonfleet
10 minutes later it was down.
[ 2006.08.26 19:54:01 ] (combat) <color=0xffbbbb00>Your 425mm Railgun I is well aimed at Admiral Siral (Nyx), inflicting 250.0 damage.
Was my last shot before the nyx went down, the pod went shortly after too.
If concord started asking for help at 18:50 (assume this was your local time, not eve time?) then the nyx was already more or less gone by then, just 4 minutes later from Concords plea for help we had finished the job and sent the thieving Siral back to his clone, hopefully now with no pirate implants either
Unfortunately we got no reward, apart from a few more lossmails for our brave pilots.

I think the fault here is lack of planning, and the lack of honoring ones words. I wasn't even a part of the gang, but I still think it's "meh" to the ones that actually went to the gathering, only to find out that there was no reward, and the event was not to be.
So who will pay attention the next time someone yells: "To Stacmon! You will get teh prize!111" ?

As of this time, to my knowledge, no member of goonfleet has recieved any compensation or been contacted by CONCORD agents concerning the destruction of the stolen Nyx. The pilot who recieved the killmail in our gang did not notice until an hour after the fact, and it seems you have since been supplied with a copy of it for your records. When we are contacted by CONCORD I can assure you that members of 3FA will be the first to know about it.
As for loot, it seems there was a can scramble as soon as the Bixendou went down, and it is all but impossible to determine who got the loot.
I'd like to thank 3FA for all of their help in this, though the killmail is truncated be assured that MANY 3FA battleships populated the list of heavy damage dealers to the Bixendou while the bulk of the Goonfleet gang took down her fighters.
The goonfleet gang arrived at planet 2 approximately one minute and 30 seconds after the 3fa gang engaged it. The tank failed at approximately 19:51 EVE time, and began to suffer structure damage at 19:53:40, less than a minute later it was destroyed

I took no offense. I posted mine right after the event occured as a "Pro-CONCORD" response to the massacre. Yours, seems to be a little more ambivalent.
This really was a great event. AURORA needs to do more of these in highsec. It was really cool seeing all the pilots firing on the Nyx. ------------------------ The Almighty says this must be a fashionable fight. It's drawn the finest people. - an Amarr Mercenary |

Aurora is handing out bounties now, although it seems it is only going out to the people on the killmail. Someone in GS just got 67.5 mill.
3FA was well represented and fought well in PFP. You would be a fool if you didn't recognize them as a powerhouse in lower Syndicate.

I'll add some fuel to this fire.
For the record*, here is a killmail from the earlier Luminaire incident involving the same Serpentis thief. No reward was given. Voogru has knowledge of a previous incident involving the Admiral, where he somehow got away despite many points of warp-scrambling strength focused on his engines.
(*Also posted for the purpose of self-aggrandisement, and to confirm Eschwen's new record number of Concord agents on a killmail, which now stands at 4. Well OK - the 3 concord agents are on my side of this killmail, but anyway...)
2006.08.01 23:01

(Special commendation to Starleaf Moon for his devastating use of the civilian railgun.)
Now the question everyone concerned about the competence of Concord must be asking - why did Concord bring their Special Ops Battleships to this encounter involving a mere Arazu, but only Special Ops Cruisers to engage a Nyx mothership? Inspector Ronier appears to be capable of flying a Special Ops Battleship, yet chose not to.

And the point of your post is what? I don't believe anyone in this thread claimed to be the first to attack and kill an Aurora actor, even one in a CONCORD ship or playing a CONCORD officer. On the contrary, we did it because we knew from previous attacks on Aurora personnel that proper CONCORD forces would not respond to our aggression.
Besides, it's customary to provide proof when making a counter-claim (which would be rather amusing in and of itself because no one has claimed otherwise, to the best of my knowledge). So, let's see a kill mail. Or STFU, alt troll.
Thanks.
P.S. For those of you interested in knowing about the results of CONCORD's 'threat' of standing and security hits, I have as of this post suffered no changes whatsoever.
