I'm not a combat pilot but i collect rare ships and mods. Over the past year or 2, or 3 (I don't remember anymore) I've managed to build up a small collection of various faction/officer mods. I decided to put most of them into Vindicator my fave ship design. There are a couple non-faction mods that are going to be replaced once i find their counterparts.
2 questions; how is my Vindicator setup, in terms of rarity/value? I wouldn't dare to put it in combat but if it were how would it fair, either solo or pvp?

1x Core X-type 100mn afterburner (to be replaced by a gist x-type 100mn mwd once I find one)

1x power diagnostic II (To be replaced by another faction version once found)
1x Magnetic Field stabalizer (To be replaced by faction version once found)

Why? cos my setup is so bad for pvp you'd find it funny to see all my expensive stuff blown up? or cos it might be an interesting fight?

You've got a billion cap mods. No damage or tanking whatsoever. You won't live long enough to appreciate your extra cap.

If i get the remaining faction/officer mods that i listed would that rarity/value score go up to a 10?

I have updated my post.
The point I was making is that it is a poor setup, and given that you came up with it, I severely doubt you have any idea about flying a blasterthron in PvP. I think that I would kick your 3 year old, officer fitted arse with a t2 fitted battleship of any flavour.

Like i said, i'm not a combat pilot. i just like to collect rare stuff for no particular purpose other than simply possessing it. was just curious how it would fair in a fight, not that i'd ever be stupid enough to actually try it. good thing i posted it instead of actually trying it i barely have any gunnery skills anyway, lol.

Crazy... Why not sell the some of the good-but-pointless-on-a-vindi faction mods and use the isk to buy faction mods that might actually make it into a flyable ship?

This post makes me sad, its nothing more then a show off post, To be very honest you might aswell tell us how much isk you have and wat mods + ships so we can go nice collection. you would of had more luck gathering bits together for a navy raven as its hard to go wrong with it (nubs weapons of choice) but as for your vind imo its just a joke an expensive one
ps: get a rattle snake and put 4x Selynne's Modified Cap recharger and 4x Raysere's Modified cap recharger cause i think that would be more your style

Cos at the start i didn't set out to buy mods specifically for a vindi. I bought the mods first and then bought a vindi and decided to just put the mods onto the vindi instead of having them in the hanger. Cos I'm clumsy, i once accidentally trashed a gist x x-l shield booster.

if you wanted to at least have it pvp ready and i'll assume you have a nice wallet..
Not exactly sure how good these cap rechargers are but i'd personally still switch out for a cap injector.
I would put on hardeners and scrap some of that stuff you have in the lows.
I'd rethink the neutrons and put something else there like electrons/ions (especially if you find the faction ones).
And yeah i'd also put an mwd as you want.
That all being said i have never flown a megathron so don't take my word for it so
for good ideas on fitting a vindi for pvp check out Farjung's vids and maybe his recent loss of it on the BoB killboard...

Honestly? It's complete rubbish. A decent pilot could solo that in a T2-equipped Megathron with ease. Hell, I'd have a go in a T1 Megathron.
As for why, there are a lot of reasons. But Neutrons suck up too much powergrid, not fitting T2 blasters is almost a crime, AB won't get you into range, it absolutely needs a cap injector, the tank is just plain broken.

Actually there are 4. I put em on cos they're some of my more rarer mods. plus like i said ealier, im not a combat pilot i don't have all the ideal skills to pilot a ship into combat, without those pds i won't have enough power grid for a gist x 100mn mwd, 2 centus x reps and 7 neutron blasters.

Selynne, Raysere, Tuvan, they are the only things on the B-T that make it rare and sadly the 2 cap chargers are pointless and all but 1 of the pdu's are pointless
but if you want a rating
rare 8/10
PvP 0/10
that thing would get chewed up by a deimos

gist x-type mwd domi web scram ( 2x web or 2x scram depending) or a dg multi spec Selynne's cap injector
1x core x rap 1x centus 3x 30% eanm ( name escapes me )2x tuv mag dmg mods
now i would say all of that is really ubah hard to get but if you lost all of that you would have a hard long time geting it all very fast

It disappoints me sometimes to see how people respond to harmless questions such as yours. There simply isn't any need to be so belligerent. At the same time as an EVE pilot you seem to be attenuated from most of the player community. Anyway, I don't know enough about rare ships or battleships to comment on your set-up or answer your questions for you.
However, if you are looking for a benchmark, take a look at this thread and download the video in the OP. It's a video of Farjung PvPing in his Vindicator. It is some of the most unbelievable stuff I have ever seen. Bear in mind this level of skill has been achieving probably by years of practice and PvP and experience, also bear in mind that Farjung is a complete and utter nutter.

Well im sorry if you think im rude, I just tell it like it is because i know for a fact if i wanted a base to see how good my setup is with tried and tested i would have gone to the ships setup page then cliked on the mega 
and as for vale u of certain items IF you had to buy them then you kinda know how much they are worth /// how hard they are to come by and slaping them on a faction ship DOES not improve how rare they are or increase the value of them so excuse me if i say again the post is pointless
cause everything u wanted to know could have been done with afew clicks // you alrdy know

Firstly, my post wasn't entirely directed at you.
Secondly, the ship setups page is by no means a definitive way to gauge a PvP set-up. It certainly helps to give a basic overview and a basic set-up however. To give an example, you wouldn't find the NanoPhoon set-up in this video on the ships and setups index. Well, if you did you would have to dig for it. Watch the video. That NanoPhoon ship takes out a Torp Raven and a Megathron.
Thirdly, you seem to have only picked up on the first half of my post. Really the main purpose of my post was to give the link to Farjung's awesome Vindicator video, to be honest.
Yeah I realise that the OP's questions and responses are a little bit odd, and perhaps he is showing off or merely seeking validation. That doesn't hurt anyone. The last bit of your post doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but if you think something is pointless and you can't respond with anything helpful, don't bother, it's better for everyone that way. |

I don't pull my punches, and it's to add a bit of humour to a discussion.
I'm not going to be a lifeless robot saying 'This setup needs improving with these steps and here's why'. I'm going to say it's rubbish (it is), try to characterise it (I could solo it in ship X) to put how rubbish it is into perspective, and then give constructive tips to improve it. 
If this was a newbie trying to figure out his first ship, I'd be a little more polite. But despite my EVE combat experience (and zero knowledge of manufacturing), if I wandered into the Market channel and said 'I'm going to buy a Carrier BPO, is my crazy component economics any good?' I would fully expect to be laughed at. Start small and work up, or I'd just take the ridicule a little less personally.

I get what you're saying, and it totally makes sense. It just kind of hard to work out that particular rationale from people's individual posts, since I don't know these people personally and it doesn't help that my humour/sarcasm detector is ****-poor when it comes to forums. Then again some people can just be jerks. Well at least now I can except you from my umbrella generalisations.
But yeah, I know what you mean .
