I honestly wonder in this history of gaming whether one was made based on this.

PK = red = murderer, someone that kills just for the sake of killing, indeed the FPS-type of players.
Pirates on the other hand may kill, but they do it for loot and money, not to get another kill.
And by the way, wouldn't it be glorious if we had a full Trammel server for Eve?
Being red in UO did no tmean you did not do it for the loot. Most i knew did it for the loot and so did i. Killing randomly or not is not directly related to being a PK or not. Of course many PK's where killing quite randomly though (at least it looks liek that to outside people) but the motivations are very different depending on the person. Btw the true PK would never be really satisfied with an FPS so saying FPS type of player is nonsense. Being able to cause pain is part of being a PK and without it (hi fps or most other "pvp" games) it gets boring fast. Just look at WoW... if it would hurt to die in wow it would have way less wannabe pvpers/PKs and it would be WAY more exciting. Being red always meant to take high risks and be hunted and that is what it should be like... oh memories! -------------- My dad can beat up your dad!

Did you just phrase that in a bad way or uhh... are you a disgusting sick person? No offense, but I'm troubled a bit by this sentance.

To the OP: Stop calling me a carebear while I'm in the belts making ISK to PvP with and I'll stop calling you a PKer when you bring the PvP to me when I'm in my hauler.

One of the enjoyable parts of pvp in this game is causing people real loss, not having respawn with all your stuff but a real long term loss, you inflict a loss it makes people feel good, happpy or whatever word of choice. When you loose you feel pretty ****ty yourself after you take a reasonable sized loss. Without this eve would just be the same as any other game.

Uhh... I don't know, but to feel good about being responsible for someone else's misery... Well, I'd say only psychopaths are capable of such a thing. Or traumatized people which lack empathy for others for some other reason.

The deal is that you can also receive pain. You are at risk of feeling the pain. This is what makes it exciting. It is what pushes the adrenaline and makes PKing interesting.
I for example always fit my ships so it HURTS me if i loose them. Not only are they more fun to fly, but it is also more exciting for me to risk to loose them.
If i was you i would not judge people by things you can't understand and call them sick or perverted=) Be a bit more open minded and you will maybe see the light. -------------- My dad can beat up your dad!

Agree with the OP's sentiment but imo his reasons are wrong. Simply: PK, Guild, Toon, Quest etc. are all lame terms that belong in lesser games and not in Eve. The end
