Pirate dread had been hanging out in Yong for a couple of weeks ganking neutrals.

We had intended to go kill it previously but every time we started getting ships together we got interrupted by either KIA / TSDS / The Priory / Blood Inquisition / Omniscient Order or one of our other heretical heathen enemies

Finally, one quiet evening I was leading a small anti-pirate patrol in Yong when the Dread appeared at the station. I warped our guys out and called on a few reserves which got into position pretty rapidly.

The Dread had docked again but we decided to put some temptation in its way. It undocked and engaged obviously feeling invincible. We waited till it had engaged siege mode and then called the reinforcements in.

Was fairly straightforward - but still fun

I am sure some fraps will be appearing in some future video.

Back on the original subject could it be that the 'news' isn't so discussed anymore is that apart from a few obvious exceptions most alliances are simply not the huge entities they once were - and the increasingly fragmented political map means wars tend to be more localised and then of less interest to the greater community?
