I'd have left. If the pilot had been at the bridge, instead of in the holoreel room, an you popped him regardless of what he said during the destruction, then fine, pay him back. Veto would have ransomed, realised hes afk, popped it and said "Thanks." I dont see why it should be any different for you, if standings were not set, and it is as you say.

Check the killboard, there's some others that frag people in lowsec and my guess is they're not repaying those losses. Piracy my ass, like I said.

Its a very simple concept, "Not Blue? Its Goo!". Your friend should not have surrendered his frieghter to replace the one lost by the numbskull who flew his up your dread's gun barrels, but you're a big man for digging into your own pocket to take the some of the sting off your friend.
Said numbskull should be considered a liability to any self-respecting alliance and should have been reprimanded for his carelessness. Also the whole piracy charge is b***s**t, you stood no chance of making a profit off killing an afk frieghter and were fully aware of this from the offset. True piracy is all about profit, this was a personal vendetta againist the mentally deficient(and I don't mean the mentally retarded, even they have some common sense) and thus not covered by an alliance ban on piracy.

Well, apparently, because the corp and the alliance has a "no piracy" policy (it wasn't piracy, ffs - it was a public service!) I and my corpmate have to pay him back. My corpmate is out his Charon freighter, given to the loser who lost his due to being a ******* moron, and I'm out a nice chunk of ISK given to my corpmate to help cover what he just lost (it was my idea to kill the freighter in the first place - he just authorized it).

i would have told them all to shove it. its diheartening to know that a CEO in your alliance, a person who leads another group of peope, has an alt and cant take care of it.
but seeing as you really like your corp, i think just giving the loot back (or the isk equivalent if already sold), would be a fair trade for that CEO's lack of attention to detail.
yes i know it says im in a nube corp, but i assure you this is my 1 and only char.
i just havent found the right group of people in a corp yet. only 2mos old ffs. |

SNIGG has a policy. If you lose your alts ship to a corp mate, and you're not on teamspeak screaming lodly "don't shoot x" too bad.
If the guy that shot you wasn't on TS, and you were, then its time for him to pay up.
Of course, this would fall under "not on TS screaming don't shoot", so I say "don't pay".

All I have to say is wow. Like many have stated before how the **** were you suppose to know it was a alt of a alliance guy. WTF is that to MAKE your friend hand over his frieghter. It was his freaking loss to leave the frieghter on Auto-pilot and didnt expect to have a chance to be blow up. Anyways who in there right mind goes AFK a captail ship on auto-pilot.
Just one more thing... THE ALLIANCE SHOULD NOT LET THIS GUY TRANSPORT THINGS

If someone has an alt like that and never mentions it (or the money the most likely make themself with it, keeping their income secret from their corp/alliance), screw em.
Then again, Why you're pirating in Omerta, I have no freaking clue. Altho if the frieghter pilot was Gallente, I'd definitely tell the person ot go **** themself, for obvious reasons.
I would've told him tough ****, and condemned any restitution paid by my corp, but I don't forsee myself having to worry about such a problem. Still, I say you name and shame the guy. AFKing a freighter through lowsec is an idiot move if I've ever seen one.
People who afk a freighter through lowsec should be destroyed without question. Same with people who use carriers to mine, with mining drones. Ships mis-used in such ways should auto-destruct.

Don't pay a rats arse to him. He should've known better. He could have let you know who he was and so on. Theres plenty he could have done to prevent the event and results. Not choosing to do so eliminates any rights he would have had in claiming retribution or sorts.
