Quote: just like I don't need to see someone roll a six-sided dice to ridicule their claim that they can roll a seven with it.
If you read Terry Pratchett's "The Last Hero" you will find out that you can roll a seven with a six-side dice. (in a way)
That said, unortodox thinking can produce results that are far more effective then conventional solutions. Even though I don't think the thingie form Steorn will work, but as someone already mentioned, if it works, it will change the world (if it isn't taken away by oil multies, multinationals or the industriel-militery complex ) and if it doesn't life will go one.
PS: either way some ppl will make money
Right now the future looks so bright, I got to wear shades! |

I¦m always startled by the open hostility and arrogance people fling at this type of occurence.
Yes I clicked on the about link. So what? Looks like these are a bunch of engineers who stumbled upon some type of phenomenon.
The textbook repeater arrogance scientists usualy show when faced with things like this is the main reason we¦re still ardously crawling around in combustion engine cars or strapped ontop of chemical rockets. And why peer review has degenerated to a keeping of the status quo in scientific research.
I¦ll be watching this, will be interesting how it pans out. _ Mal-`Appears we got here just in a nick of time. What does that make us?¦ Zoe-¦Big damn heroes sir.¦ Mal-¦Aint we just.¦ |

Because clearly, you know far more about science than any of these "arrogant" scientists.
There is a very specific process for revolutionary ideas to be analyzed. Everyone who doesn't understand how this process works should not attempt to formulate an opinion on it until they learn how it does work. Doing so is like demonstrating against the current war in the Middle East without even knowing what country it is taking place in.

They're trying to patent it, so they won't publicise anything.
Conveniently excusing them from having to justify their attack on the entire scientific system by claiming results without ever filing a report to be analyzed, hey? ________________________________________________

I'm very skeptical, especially since a whois query shows that stoern is registered to an Irish guy. Being Irish myself, I know how sly we can be
I'll hold out on calling it a total hoax, but I have some grounding in this stuff and it just seems very unlikely that they could pull it off. -----

Of course I don¦t! I¦m just supposed to work my ass of form 9-5 so I can pay taxes, so that the gouvernment can loan more money to pay, among other things all the grants 99% of all scientist work and live off.

Peer review is nothing arcane one needs a Phd to understand. The historical tendency of established wisdom to ridicule and supress new original ideas or findings isn¦t a new concept either.
But as others already mentioned, there¦s too little actual data to start getting into arguments about this thing.

Of course not! Which is why I say that people should learn what it is before they flame it

I'm not quite sure if the interview instills faith or takes it away. I mean, he answers questions quite correctly (by that I mean, he gives the "don't want to commercialize until FREE and random debunking has taken place" answer). However, what the hell was with the cartoon with the shotty drawn camel in it? SteOrn, ground breaking technology from Walt Disney's untalented cousin.

The cartoon was pointing at all the current energy sources which would become unnecessary for the operation of most machines.
