Cerberix and I were roaming about some low sec after a few beers, for a laugh I was flying Cerberix and he was flying kaleeb (RL housemates). Ayway we came across a raven and took him out most of the faction gear got destroyed sadly (always happens to me) so we logged off. The next day I log on and I have 108mil on my head lol. Cerb was ****ed cos his sec wasnt low enough at the time for a bounty to be placed on him
I kept it for about 3-4 months until i retired from pirating and joined celes at which point I claimed it myself to put an end to my piracy career.

until one day i blew up an afk shuttle in synd and podded him - an hour later i had 119 million on my head and 2 hours later I died as an alektrophobia gang collected it

Currently I'm up to around 122m+, and no it's not a 'self bounty', despite the young character age. And I'm not going to pod myself either. Just let it sit there and see how high it goes before I screw up 
My buddy had 300m put on his head after he ransomed a Navy Issue Vexor in deadspace for something like 200m. I was able to skillfully kill my buddies shuttle and nab his pod immediately thereafter, but that 200m bounty mysteriously disappeared out of my wallet

between 50-55mil atm, alot came from a guy I ransomed with this char whilst in an indy collecting loot at a gate, my main was some 60jumps away. He didnt accept convo so we blew up his raven, some nice stuff actually, when he eventually got back from being afk he wanted to know why? what? who? I told him we wanted 50mil (too late) and who my main was, so he promptly put the 50mil on my head.
Bountys are weird like that, I blew up 1m megacyte when mega was 9k a unit and didnt get a hate mail, blew up an unfitted indy; got a nice mail and a 10mil bounty 0.o

this thread shows how truely ****** the bounty system is and why it should be changed to something not exploitable. At least there are some true piretes who wear their bounty with pride no matter how much it is.

My sec status rarely drops below +3, so I have never had a bounty. That being said i have probably looted more isk than most, killed more faction **** than most and definately caused more angst than most. I also know of people who put bounties on their own heads to make them seem uber. If someone put more than 100mil isk on my head i would get one of my alts to kill me so i could have the isk.
Bounties are for people who want to seem tough. The real fights happen in 0.0 :)

I still question the bounties I see on most chars. I know most of the serious pirates in EVE and I can't think of any of them ever having a legitimate bounty of more than about 150 mil...so you no-name pirates with your 300-500 mil bounties look kinda silly when you say its legit...

I got 78 mil here, not self placed and I wouldnt claim it myself. I quite like it actually but it is by far the biggest I've ever had on my head.
Funny thing is I have no idea where it came from, I work out of the country and when I left it wasn't there. Came back 4 weeks later to quite a suprise.
Shame u can't find out who placed the bounty.

I think Cloud Alexander was at 114 mil at one point, I know Inturist was way up there, JoeT was pretty bad before his LoA and non-gate camping times at one point as well.

My highest bounty was just under 50m about 2 years ago, none set by myself. I podded myself for the bounty as it was the bad old days when I was poor.
I now have a 10m isk bounty. It was about a year ago that the first 7.5m was put on and then somebody decided to round it up about a month ago when I went on a sniping spree in Vecemia. Maybe it was the guy who warped to the gate in an Itty 5, screamed 'RANSOM RANSOM' in local when he saw me and then popped out a few Absolutions when he died
