Check your devices, you'll be supprised how many North American devices support 220V power and only need a converter.
Converters cost ten or fifteen bucks, a transformer to step the voltage down to the US standard will run alot more and might not even be needed.
I went last year and my laptop, electric shaver, Both cell phones and Ipod all supported 220, I just needed the converter to let my plugs work. Of course I picked up the wrong one at the store.
Oh well.

Doesn't really matter if it's 220V, 230V or 240V. The standard (mostly) in Europe these days is 230/400V, but that is just an average, it can be as much as 10V over that. So if your stuff handles around 230V, it will be fine.

you underestimate what players are like, odd as it may seem, most are 'normal' people who still remember eve is a game which we all try to enjoy :)

Take me for example. I work at a museum on daytime. Among dusty books and just as dusty professors. But at nitetime, when the curtains are closed and the door is locked, i load up my trusty battleship and go hunting! Getting a break from real life is a neccesity when the workload gets pile high and the days sometimes long.
Besides, EVE is the best game on the market!!
I am so much looking forward for this years fanfest! Hope to see ya all there in November!

I haven't exactly sworn off liquor, but I will not be taking things quite to the level of the Gencon party. I haven't heard of a cybernetic liver having been developed, yet.
The Fanfest is being held at the Nordica hotel, I am going to guess the round table rooms are going to be seperate from the bar area by a little bit.

You know you love EVE when you have allready started to plan/pack what to bring with you 25 days in advance
25 days... Wonder on how many we will be?
I also plan to spend some time on Wednesday/Thursday crawling the city. Any ideas and tips of what to visit? And if any of you knows the city, and are planning a sightseeing themselves, Maybe I could join you?

Have you asked the Jovians?
Cant wait for the fanfest, its gonna be awesome, quick question though; are there many local brew's produced and if so how nice are they?
Im guessing the beer stays colder longer to due to the climate though, i have already booked my liver in for overtime over the 4 days im coming up so im all ready.

I think the prices for the tournaments are awesome! CCP often uses the artwork that's created for promotional posters etc... and it would be so cool to be on one of them

I don't know if it's by design or not, but fanfest packages are no longer on Icelandair website(s), the "form to contact Icelandair travel agents" has been assuring me that "personnel has been notified" about Error 500 it generates on submit, for about a month now, and it is not possible to reach Icelandair reservation phone in Sweden from abroad, at least if you want anything else except listening to Swedish-only recorded announcements :( email to Icelandair gets replied with a week's delay saying "please call reservation agents".
Can some kind soul (kieron? Wrangler?) clarify some simple things here maybe?
- is Icelandair package deal from Stockholm still on? - are the Loftleindir (sp?) and Nordica full up or there are still rooms? - what are the alternative suggested hotels/whatever accomodation, if any, if my friends and I have to go book everything separately and not via Icelandair?
Many thanks in advance

I booked seperatly myself, booked flighhts via icelandair website and hotel via hotels.com and am staying at the Bjork which according to the map at least is not far from the nordica and more importantly for me is very reasonablly priced.

When I spoke to someone about his last time, I was told they were pretty close to selling out. As for numbers, Wrangler might be able to answer that.
On a side note to all, since this may have been missed in the player events forum threads. EveTV will be at Fanfest and taping all your drunken debauchery. We'll be taping a lot of the events, conducting formal interviews, and some other surprises we are working on.
Hope to see you all there!
P.S. - I enjoy Rum & Coke and girly drinks. Beer works too EveTV is coming!! Join us in IRC!! irc://irc.coldfront.net - #evetv |
