I see a lot of capsuleers in ( Highsec, Lowsec, Wormhole space) both pve and pvp flying some really expensive stuff. I also look at that individuals kill boards and history. What i see most of the time is them dying in ships costing over 500m+ . Some friends argue with me that starting new in eve is to hard. Mostly due to players isk income not that players skill points when flying ships. So this makes me wonder, Do we as capsuleers have or save isk too easily? Are isk sinks really not that effective or is the risk really low with the tools and game mechanics in place? |

I remember this thread from October. It's almost identical. I had to check to see that it wasn't necro'd. Turns out, this is a new one. So I'll give you the same answer I gave the last one: you can never have too much isk. There is only so much in the economy at any given time, and if ships are going to cost 500mil, then it needs to be possible for someone to make 500mil.
If there is a problem, it isn't the effectiveness of sinks. It's the ease with which isk can be made, in ALL secs of space, and the ease with which PVP can be avoided.
Starting new in EVE is definitely hard, but it's got nothing to do with how much isk you have. Money is easy to make, too easy. Learning how to make it, how to play the game, that's the hard part. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, because it is a natural filter against many who are just too lazy for this game's true nature.
GÇ£Some capsuleers claim that ECM is 'dishonorable' and 'unfair'.

It isn't the isk supply. Its the materials supply. Exploration changes have significantly lowered the price of deadspace modules and WH space changes over recent years have cause a substantial decrease in the cost of T3s. Plus we have stuff like UI improvements, MTU and mobile depots that have made it easier and faster to get things done. |

Depends. If you farm a lot and don't pvp a lot, then its pretty easy to amass a stupid amount of ISK. If all you do is pvp (and die) and don't like doing any of EVE's money-making activities, then ISK can get pretty tight pretty quick. Unless you don't mind buying ISK off of people via PLEX, then ISK becomes trivial and meaningless again. |

PvP can be very profitable(even if you die), so long as you do it in high sec.

Starting in EVE is not hard. if you sub for 12 months and then buy a PLEX pack you can have all the ISK (and ships) you could ever want. You can even go to the character bazaar and buy a ready trained character.
What your friends are actually saying is "playing completely for free in EVE is hard as a new player" .

I think the main problem with Eve's economy is the constant inflation. Consider all the mission runners and ratters out there farming all day long, trillions of ISK come into the game everyday. When you buy or sell something, that ISK just changes hands, it is still in the game. When a ship is destroyed, the ISK is still in the game, only materials got destroyed. There are very few ways the ISK actually gets destroyed. The result is that the amount of ISK in the game is going up way faster than the player base. |

Isk is easier to make today than at any point in EVE's history.
Back when I started, and when i could take time off from walking uphill in the snow both ways to school, it was hard as hell to make isk as a pve pilot/explorer type. The scanning system was a complicated mess, their was no way to upgrade a null sec system so any anoms of belt spawns yo found were completely random, their was no wormhole space to farm, no incursions, no faction warfare (and when FW did come, it wasn't lucrative like it is now) and marauders were only introduced shortly after I started playing.
NOW you can skill into a tech3 destroyed and just destroy high sec pve plexes, you can get the standings for lvl 4 missions easily and once you know how to manage standings, do nothing but make isk off of blitzing 'burner' missions with a frigate (I topped 300 mil per hour sustained doing burners for Sisters of EVE in osmon and didn't come close to crashing my standings).
You can take frigate sized ships and make isk in faction warfare and now these frig/HIC only wormholes. You can rat in null with Navy Vexors and other cheap ships that can take advantage of infinitely respawning anomalies that sometimes escalate to even better complexes.
On and On. If you are poor in EVE Online today, it's because you're lazy lol.

Being as the OP want to buy* a PvP "toon" that has at least 15m SP and his budget is 5bill it's no wonder he is complaining about other players having too much isk.
As 15mill SP is about 7 months training and the seller pays the transfer of 2 plex, that's 7 plex for 7 months training plus another 2 plex for a total of 9 plex = 7.65 bill and the OP is offerring 5bill I think he must be on some good stuff.
