Ok, sure thats no problem, go there in your web-browser, log in, and there it is. But stop, what i want do to is getting the page from within an self-made application that displays some information-data on the display of the Logitech G15 Keyboard.
First what I have atm: Version: 0.93b
What you can do: Enter multiple account data (and save it) display Server-Status, Server-MOTD and playercount on the display switch the account that is displayed, it is always only the character displayed, that is currently skill-training Character-Name, current skill + lvl, current wallet is displayed. Current Skill-training-time left is not displayed atm (working on it right now)
What you need: Logitech G15 Keyboard Installed Logitech G15 drivers up-to-date java virtual machine (http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp, third download button) Eve G15 Client (http://www.opus-allianz.de:8080/data/EveG15Client.rar)
Installation: unpack it, start EveG15Client v0_93.jar with dubbleklick Everlyn

Edited by: Everlyn on 09/09/2006 07:51:21 So, now to my problem. I need the informations from http://myeve.eve-online.com/skilltree.asp to get the current skilltraining time. I login to login.asp and get the sessionId and cookie. I send cookie and sessionId to skilltree.asp What i get back in return is:
Quote: <head><title>Object moved</title></head><body><h1>Object Moved</h1>This object may be found <a HREF="https://myeve.eve-online.com/login.asp?r=%2F&t=%2FDefault%2Easp%3F">here</a>.</body>
I also get the tip to send something like "&Check=OK&r=&t=/ingameboard.asp&remember=1" with the request and it still don't works. Anyone has an idea what i'm doing wrong? Thx for every help. Everlyn

I will try around with the drivers a bit to get it running with the latest one. G15 is no big problem at all, the only problem i have atm is accessing the skilltree.asp, and that's an eve-related problem and i have no clue how i could get it running and no comment from CCP yet :/
About the "Selected Target" info: it would be hard to get that information. You have to analyse a screenshot, read the text to get the pilot name, have a DB to get the Corp / Alli and have a DB with the standing. That's a lot of work and nearly impossible to keep up-to-date. Everlyn

thx for the try, but this dont help much :/ I know how to calculate the skill trainingtime. I also have allready the code to get attributes including learningskills. The problem is that in the char.xml the current skillpoints is cached everytime you switch the skill. And there is no hint when you last switched the skill. So i have no clue how long the skill is allready training and how many skillpoints are left to complete. Everlyn

Originally by: Havalok nice idea.
a nice feature would be to display the ingame chat on the lcd.
for that you could watch the chat logfiles in EVE\capture\Chatlogs for changes.
Don't think that it is that easy to do, but i will have a look at it as soon as i have some time for it (RL is a bit busy atm) Everlyn

what version of the LCD Drivers are you running. :/ i downloaded and installed the latest Java. Ran the file still no luck :'(
About to try reverting back to the old drivers.
EDIT: Yes it is the drivers. Is there any chance you could get it to support the latest drivers available from logitech's website?
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/US/EN,CRID=322,CONTENTID=10824
and also consider looking at: http://www.g15forums.com/forum/ from what i have seen people are always willing to give help :) and it also a means to get your work to more people :)
EDIT 2: Got it to work to a degree :/ get the java applet to load, but nothing comes up on screen.
Finaly i've testet is with difrent drivers, but no problems at all. Works fine for me. Looks like it's another problem. Everlyn

Originally by: Chesko Everlyn, first off, great work, I've been looking for a community mod like this for some time now. Hat's off to you.
However, I'm sure there are several people who will not want to use your client because you have to enter your username/password information for the java program to access your character's statistics. Can you inform everyone of a mechanism to check to make sure that it is only authenticating against CCP's servers, and not simply sending you my UN/PW so you can l33thaXor my account and steal all my stuff? I'm not trying to cast doubt or discredit upon you, but I think if you informed everyone of a mechanism which they can see exactly where this UN/PW is being sent, you'll become much more popular.
Best thing I could imagin would be that CCP checks the source of community-tools and mark them as "CCP-Proofed" but don't know if someone from CCP knows engougt about Java to do that and have the time for it.
I know there are tools that check to what IP's a program connect to. If you use one of these you se that I'm only connecting to myeve.eveonline.com. Dont have the name for one atm but maybe you find something in google. If i have the time and find something a will post a link here. Everlyn

I have found something:
http://www.zdnet.de/downloads/prg/6/9/en10062969-wc.html
with this tool you can check open connections, ports and also remote-ip for every running application. Didn't tested it yet with my tool because I'm at work at the moment but will later today. You still need to input your username/password before you see if the tool is sending something out. But if you see it you can fast change your pass and everything is fine.
Or you can make a trail-account, use the tool with this account, and when you are sure it is save to use you can use it with your main account. Everlyn

First of all, thx for all the responses makes me feel that my work was not totaly useless at all ;)
(also for the peops in the new thread i opened here: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=420428)
Now to the problems: as i sayed in my third post, i have some probles accessing the skilltree.asp and without this i cant get the "skill training time left" working correctly. This is still an issue and i still try to solve it but i dont have much ideas at the moment how to get it running.
To the N73: The programm is made to work with the WinXP drivers of LogitechG15 only, dont know what happen if you try to start it on other devices, and dont have the hardware to test it. If you can supply me with a N73 to test this leave me an ingame mail
And now to the rotate-thing: rotate it with other applications is not posible for me atm, because i dont use the standart development kit but the Java development kit and this dont support this feature. I will try some thing out like sending the application in background for a specified ammount of time, but this might have some other side-effects. But i try my best.
Rotate the characters is not such big problem, but i still thinking about how to do it. One idea i had is to stop the rotate if one char has less then 10 minutes in skilltrainingtime, and than only this char will be displayed. But i can implement the rotating for now and thing about aditional features later. Everlyn

Please contact me ingame when I'm online so I can look into your problem and when I found out what it is i can post the help for it here.
Originally by: Jaisen Isaac Edited by: Jaisen Isaac on 07/11/2006 19:35:22 Is it possible to use an Md5 CheckSum application to ensure that the source file you are posting is the same file that everyone who uses your program is getting. One thing a hacker could do is edit your code to tell the G15 Module to connect to another website designed to collect user ID's and Passwords. Using Md5 CheckSum software ensures that we get the code you publish and garantees the code has not been modified by another person with malicious intent.
You can get a free Md5 CheckSum application here.
For example the current Md5 CheckSum for: Eve G15 Client (http://www.opus-allianz.de/downloads/EveG15Client.rar) is
4c6e3fa87d71b19391163f526458df47
With the end user using any free Md5 CheckSum program available on the net we could then use it to verify that the file we have has the same Md5 Checksum.
Just one suggestion on how to you help ensure the integrity of your application code, as well allows us to keep track of which versions we actually have.
Thank you!
I can verify that 4c6e3fa87d71b19391163f526458df47 is the checksum of the current version. I will post the checksum of future versions when i release them.
Also I'm thinking about making this open-sorce so at least everyone how knows a bit about java can look into the sources and say, yes, it's ok, it don't do anything bad. But before thiis I have to tidy-up the source a bit and add some comments. Also I need the time to start the project (maybe http://sourceforge.net/) and i'm really busy in the RL atm, so this will will not happen in the next few days. Everlyn

Download work for me, so not broken as far as i can see. About the wallet think: the eve api only update this value every 15 minutes, so this might cause that it looks like it's "not working". After the 15 minutes it updates correctly for me. Everlyn
