Edited by: Danton Marcellus on 20/10/2003 15:59:59 Congratualtion, you've met with one of the groups of extreme buttholes in the game, M0o, you'll be sure to run into the *******s contending for the crown soon, Biomass Cartel.
For these two killing is everything, actual gain comes a distant 2nd. Forget about roleplaying.

Yes, players are now the NPC's for the game EVE, which has become the Pirate game Eve. Players who want to play the game with any other plan other than pirateing and killing are now there to give enjoyment to the pirates, CCP needs to sort the balance. Warnings to newbies would help.

Isn't it amazing how little someone can proffess to not knowing. Yet is quite willing to quit a game on the back of one persons actions. If you are new and do really know so little maybe you should be posting in the New player forum so you can gain the knowledge to overcome such misfortune?

Hello Xi,
Sorry to hear about your unfortunate loss to the griefer community. If you need a corp that you can grow in, please give me a shout in-game mate

You'll be pleased to know Gunni lost his BS and all his gear. He pressed self destuct, then went on in local telling people how much stuff they had'nt got cos he blew himself up. Apparently he detonated 100 mill worth of modules.

Its pretty crappy you got blown up but at least you were in a frigate and not a cruiser or battleship.
I got attacked recently by Moo too while running the MJL -> Orville express and barely escaped.
I hate them IG but I'm glad they're in the game because it makes the game exciting and fun. Nothing like dodging battleships in a frigate or cruiser to spice up your night :)
The only thing that really matters in Eve imo is skills, you can lose ships and replace them pretty quickly if your smart and have a backup ship in a safespot but not skills.
Also I think its pretty difficult to be PK'd in this game unless your stupid or very unlucky. I've spent 90% of my time in unsafe space and only lost 2 ships. 1 to CTD and 1 to NPC pirates.

Might as well be truthful about it.
Anyone with the slightest bit of determination can kill anyone in any solarsystem.
And anyone with any awareness and use of caution can avoid destruction indefinitly.

Gunni is a F@cking idiot griefer. And he just got his Battleship blown up. So don't sweat it. He got his and I am sure will continue too...
If you need help getting your frigate back just ask. I can help you. I would also suggest you get a Indy and mine in 1.0 space to get yourself a good nest egg. Joing a corp is another option.

I am going to point this out to you as you are the last to reply, this guy is an alt and has plenty of cash to resupply himself with a brand spanking new ship.
Next, why are pirates griefers? Is it not allowed that anyone in the eve universe is fare game? As a noob you don't have enough to lose to worry about getting blown up. If you have been on longer then you should be wise to their actions. Just accept that that is his style of play and yours is different.

Reminds me of the old days when LeeLoo used to camp the gate at Katugumur in beta. I'm always relaying this story like an old grandad, but, well, I know how you feel mate.
I mined bistot for hours and hours, refined it at Katugumur then set off with the minerals in my n00b ship (yes, I mined it with a basic mining laser!) only to be podded by leeloo at the gate and my minerals stolen! I was so upset that this could be allowed to happen - even if we had ganged and gone after it (her/him I dunno) LeeLoo would just have run and then come back at some later time. Its really difficult to track and dispose of pirates (at least it was in beta) because its difficult to keep a group of people who all want revenge in one place at one time if they aren't "corped" up. Anyway, I complained loudly then came back to the game and mined another load of bistot (took hours and hours and hours), I refined it and then managed to get to a good sale place. Only I "quick sold" it in the days when no message popped up telling you the price was well below average. Managed to sell 1.2 million worth of minerals for about 10isk to some market griefer. So there you go, my first 2 loads of ore both griefed out of me by a couple of evil **nkers. I'm still smarting about wasting 24 hours of my life to that, really I am.
Still, it was an important lessons to me: never get too attached to your megacyte and if this happens to you, just rest assured that you have the moral high ground (err, if thats some comfort to you - I know it is to me!)

Dont feel bad m8. I went to sign up in a pirate corp yesterday and got the good ol jump in point exploit used on me (but i had insurance) so i didnt hurt too bad. Was ****ed tho. Oh well I've lost enough ships and blown up enough to know you win and lose and it is an everlasting cycle which makes EVE go round. However I hoped you have learned to survive in EVE. If not then cancel your account because the only space your safe in is the space your alone in (BTW that is someone elses quote but it is true)

12mill of that booty that went up was mine and my corps. Not the way to make friends in my book, once i calmed down i understand why people do this in Eve its part of the game. Still made me mad enuff to want to rip his freaking throat out and pi**ing down his neck.

What'd ya mean? I went after leeloo and her wingmate (always forgot his name). Her wingmate sent my rifter off burning twice (never downed it tho). They stuck around to fight, cept when yall in Kat got silly and went after them 5 - 1.
Ended up hiring them for a job or two later (their mysterious disappearance from Kat for a few days)
I mean its like you want corporations to oblige each other like its sex or something. Pffft I would rather **** my enemy.- Rohann

Is it just me, or does anyone else find the fact that a member of Biomass mentions being killed by 'the good ol jump in point exploit' when Biomass constantly claim it is no exploit just more than a little ironic?
Why is it that when someone tells you that there are over a billion stars in the universe, you believe them, but if they tell you there is wet paint somewhere, you have to touch it to make sure? |

Quote:
... why are pirates griefers? Is it not allowed that anyone in the eve universe is fare game?
1st question: not all pirates are griefers. There are distinctions. I have no problem at all with someone blockading a gate and demanding ransom from all who pass. I don't have a problem with people claiming a region of space and trying to kill everyone else in it - but that's not piracy. Could be classed as treason, if the space they're claiming actually belongs to anyone - the Angel Cartel wouldn't look kindly on anyone claiming to "own" Curse, for example. They own it. They just totally suck at controlling it.
I also have no problem, from a gameplay angle, with people blockading a system and killing everyone who comes past. That's piracy and murder, not just piracy, but hey-ho.
Then there's the guys who aren't in it for gain at all, but whose sole intent is to cause other people to die. That's not piracy either. That's just murder. And if the murderer doesn't stand to gain from his actions - such as anyone repeatedly mullering frigates in high-end space when his battleship's quite capable of handling cruisers in 0.0 - that's also griefing.
2nd question: No.
For example, 1.0 space is supposed to be absolutely safe under any and all circumstances. CCP have tried to make this happen by making it possible to *attack* someone in 1.0 space, but impossible to survive long enough to actually *kill* him. They haven't succeeded in this intent, so now they're stating openly that to kill someone in 1.0 space is considered an exploit. I suspect the next step might well be to block weapons turrets from working at all in 1.0 space. Not happy about the idea, but there's no other way I can think of to stop the griefers.
