Edited by: Nimir on 14/09/2006 21:40:34 Edited by: Nimir on 14/09/2006 21:40:04 i have two problems... the first is with portrait rendering. in portrait.php the first if instruction is not executed. can anyone tell me why and what i can do about it?
i'm running the killboard on apache 2, php 4 and mysql 5... which brings me to my second problem: is there anyone who can tell me why it won't work on php 5? it just shows me a blank page.

You'll be missed Rig0r. Thank for releasing the source code, it's a great killboard. One question for anyone that might be able to help. We've been using the Falcon KMS killboardt and I'd like to import all the killmails into this new board. Has anyone come up with a program that would be able to do this or point me in the right direction. Thanks for your help. |

Check if you have GD support in your PHP installation. Also it should work on PHP5 as that's the version the kb has been developed on.

Have a look at the Parser class. What I usually did is getting the raw mails into a temporary database table, looping through them and feeding the raw mails to Parser->parse().
e.g.: (untested, may have to tweak paths and stuff)
require_once( "common/db.php" ); require_once( "common/class.parser.php" );
$qry = new DBQuery(); $qry->execute( "select raw_mail from mails_to_import" );
while ( $row = $qry->getRow() ) { $mail = $row['raw_mail']; $parser = new Parser( $mail ); $id = $parser->parse( false ); if ( $id == 0 ) { file_put_contents ( 'failedmails.txt', $mail."\n\n", FILE_APPEND ); $failedcount++; } $total++; }
echo "Total: ".$total."\n"; echo "Failed: ".$failedcount."\n";

I've setup this database on my webhost using Cpanel to and phpadmin to create a database and also a username and password. the config file is configured correctly but whenever I finish running the config.php, I get this message
Database error: No database selected SQL: select scl_id, scl_class from kb3_ship_classes where scl_class not in ( 'Drone', 'Unknown' ) order by scl_class

ok, i managed to enable gd and portrait rendering works now... the damn thing wouldn't work with spaces in the path to extension dir ![Evil or Very Mad](/images/icon_evil.gif) thanks for the help ![Very Happy](/images/icon_biggrin.gif)
the problem with php 5 however seems to be general, i can't run any php code on it, it just shows me a white page, even when i try to run phpinfo(). maybe it's my configuration or something... anyway, it works on php 4 so i'm happy.
now i just have to find a way to bypass my host's lack of URL file access to get to the portraits.
Peace! Nimir

PS: ive noticed your style sheets are using absolute paths to reference specific URL's for banner images etc... these point to your img.eve-killboard.net address. so those who've got it working may want to change this.
Must be a configuration issue, check you have the proper databasename filled in the config.php.
Right about the hardlink in the stylesheets, some things I did quick & dirty ![Embarassed](/images/icon_redface.gif)

i also did a little optimization to your portrait rendering code. you can get the image with the needed size directly from eve's server, you just have to ask for it, so i removed the resizing code. now it asks for the image with the required size.
If I remember correctly I grab a big (128x128) portrait from img.eve.is and resize it manually, because of the crappy image quality you get when grabbing smaller sizes directly. Try it out and see Also img.eve.is tends to be unavailable every now and then.

you do remember corectly, and yes, there are minor differences between the two images. anyway, normally i would use your code as you wrote it, and i do on my own computer, but my host has disabled URL file access, so i can't use imagecreatefromjpeg() directly. i tried using cURL to fix this, but then i got an error because imagecreatefromjpeg() was getting only the first 4 bits of the image, so it seemed i couldn't use imagecreatefromjpeg() at all. finally, a few minutes before writing this i found a way to make the code work. just set the headers and use echo() to display the image that cURL grabs from img.eve.is.
i hope this helps everyone that might have the same problems i had .
Peace! Nimir

hey rig0r, thank you so much again for releasing the code. after digging through almost every class now i cant say anything besides awesome work!!
but one thing still bothers me, its the map rendering thingy.. i just can not get it to work (tried on 3 diff. servers with various GD-libs installed and ready).
it renders an image with the system/region name on top (so i know caching and img rendering works on the server) but it wont draw the jump lines nor system dots at all. i checked twice and i think i got all the sql data from kb3_constellations, kb3_regions, kb3_systems and kb3_systemjumps right with no import errors. so, does anyone else is able to draw the maps without problems? am i missing something here? plz help :)

again, its great of you to release this. now onto the fixing >:)
all killmails posted using either ingame or outgame php scripts are being sent and recieved by the eve-killboard.net mail servers, so again, you'll want to set your servers up for mailing and change accordingly.

two more bugs... i may not know how to code php pro, but this is getting annoying...
first, all the mails i post the include two or more involved parties appear bugged. there is an "unknown" party shown between all the parties involved. when i look and the raw killmail there is a "Name: / " line between all the involved parties... why is that? and why are the killmails posted by a corp mate working fine?
second, when i want to see details about a killmail the map is not rendered, just the region and constellation.
i looked through the code and saw nothing that might cause any of these bugs. then again, my knowledge of php is very limited for now (but i'm learning as i go ), so any help is greatly appreciated.
Peace! Nimir

i got the exact same bug, but only on ONE of my servers(!!!) they both got the exact same setup, sql data and killboard files.
its pretty weird and i cant figure out why tbh, but it simply wont draw the system dots on the 'map' image but if you look into the mapview.php and set $view->showLines( true ) for case "map" then you can at least see the drawing of the universe but no coloring of the target-region no matter what.
rig0r, i ran out of ideas, please can you give us a clue?

i think i found a really serious bug.
if you add a killmail without someone having the final blow, because the final blower got truncated (lots of involved players), corrupted information gets into the database.

oww.. ;/ your killboard will be greatly missed rig0r. It was great to use because of the shared database and a simple link. Alot of corps/alliances would use the same killboard, and its easy to find someone's KB.
Now it would be all different links, different DBs and a whole lotta mess i predict. Will be alot harder to find someones KB most probably.
Maybe you could pass ownership of the website to someone else? Is that an avalable/possible option? ![Question](/images/icon_question.gif) ----------- Not Blue = Shoot It

another change I made for convenience was to remove the password protection for killmail posting for the ingame submissions site. its already checking your character against the killmail data, so the password ends up being an innessecary step (takes up time).
coolies though :p

What you are going to want to do is have the user set yout site to trusted and grab some evedata through the built in IGB functions...

the function for killpoint calculation is COMPLETLY bugged guys!
it just takes the victims ship value and multiplies it by the number of involved players where it should get the involved players ship value and add it to the other inv. players values.
replace the calc function in class.kill.php
Quote:
function calculateKillPoints() { $ship = $this->getVictimShip(); $shipclass= $ship->getClass(); $vicpoints = $shipclass->getPoints(); $maxpoints = round( $vicpoints * 1.2 ); foreach ( $this->involvedparties_ as $inv ) { $ship = $inv->getShip(); $invpoints += $shipclass->getPoints(); /*here it only takes the victims shipvalue and add its by the count of inv. players where it should take each players own shipvalue*/ } $gankfactor = $vicpoints / ( $vicpoints + $invpoints ); $points = ceil( $vicpoints * ( $gankfactor / 0.6 ) );
if ( $points > $maxpoints ) $points = $maxpoints; $points = round( $points, 0 ); //echo "invpoints:".$invpoints."<br>"; //echo "vicpoints:".$vicpoints."<br>"; //echo "gankfactor:".$gankfactor."<br>"; //echo "points:".$points; //exit; return $points; }
with
Quote:
function calculateKillPoints() { $ship = $this->getVictimShip(); $shipclass= $ship->getClass(); $vicpoints = $shipclass->getPoints(); $maxpoints = round( $vicpoints * 1.2 ); foreach ( $this->involvedparties_ as $inv ) { $shipinv = $inv->getShip(); $shipclassinv= $shipinv->getClass(); $invpoints += $shipclassinv->getPoints(); } $gankfactor = $vicpoints / ( $vicpoints + $invpoints ); $points = ceil( $vicpoints * ( $gankfactor / 0.75 ) );
if ( $points > $maxpoints ) $points = $maxpoints; $points = round( $points, 0 ); return $points; }
you might want to tune the shipclasses point values in the database by yourself as i find them not matching actual combat criteria

hmm ive spent the last 5-6 nights coding and modding the board and i cant see any more php code for now. tbh i rather want to kill stuff then work on a board that tracks stuff others killed ![Wink](/images/icon_wink.gif)
i basically did a new board for our alliance as the old board was shut down without notice by some greedy **** called ex-member. we were developing a completly new board and in the middle of it rig0r released his exellent sourcecode so i took on it and modded it for our alliance's needs (eg. daily stats instead of weekly's, a kill comment system, isk value is now tracked by ship killed and not only by ship class, admin sql backup util, parser bugfixes, minor rendering bugfixes, made auditing work again, some new stats, etc..) and once it is finished (it almost is - v1.99) ill do something else, namely, kill stuff again. ![YARRRR!!](/images/icon_pirate.gif)
but id be happy to post code-snippets of imporant stuff i fixed or changed, be it here or in a seperate forum for it. so heh.. just go for it m8.
btw: you can check the actual version of the board @ http://kb.eve-d2.com if youre intersted

That's the best eve-killboard modification I've seen sofar. Nice looks and improvements Good job. Would be cool if someone put up the source somewhere and added some forums. Sourceforge comes into mind, but is slow as hell and has crappy forums. I could host it myself but tbh I can't be arsed to maintain it, so that would just be silly.

Check the permissions on the cache directory and more importantly its subdirs. It is safe to set them to 777.
