I see players on the new china server are setting up an outpost, anyone know if there is any more details on how the game is going, big alliances, big fleet battles or just loads of frigates swarming everywhere.
Would be interesting to see how it develops, peak loads, numbers online, highest SP so far, have many switched to play there or are they all new players ?
Was it possible for players to move characters or has everyone started from new ?
Has CCP just mirrored this server or is it all new i.e. Jita, Rens, ect. or a brand new layout, I guess with all the problems most CCP are fire fighting here, I wonder if the new server has the same problems ?

When we started playing in May 2003 the paint wasn't eve applied, let alone drying. They started with a FAR superior product. My guess is CCP made a special currency for them and that prevented all the farmers from bothering.

I had a look around but I am still checking, a different culture so my point was more like do the scam on escrow, do they have big corp/alliance camps, if they were all new starters then i dont guess they have capital ships yet ?
Just me being nosey I guess, I mean do they get 1 piece of trit instead or a cerb, dont think they would have much in the way of deadspace mods, or have they run out to 0.0 and claimed all, like the gold rush.

Well, not with your current character.
Some people have worked out how to get a trial account going on Serenity from the EVE.cn website, but I don't know how easy it is to activate an account from outside China.

Even if you did get a trial on chinese server, the chinese eve uses a different client so u'd have to download 500mb at very slow rates...

Thank you Acwron, hadn't seen that, from the looks of it they have set up some nice alliances. Some battle zones on the map look active, wonder if they have a hub like jita ?
Given time it looks like they have/will follow TQ, probably same ores in same regions so same map divide.

This sort of *****ing is almost the exact same as people whining that the artists etc are working on new designs and graphics when "they should be working on bug fixes".

Except the geniuses sent the test server to china completely retarding the developement process of the game the rest of us pay for.
And now because of the wonderful code that the china team wrote for the Dragon patch the game is worse and buggier then ever.
Why bother testing? Just publish it.

Oh noes, there's been a problem with a couple of patches, but hells no CCP doesn't care about working the problems out do they?
There has been a problem! Stop everything! We've encountered a problem in life! Lets return to the primordial ooze and not evolve to where we are today...
I don't remember seeing CCP lie to use about anything, they sent a Dev to China to oversee Serenity, and I don't see any specific features being given to Serenity while Tranquility remains in the stone age...
How many patches have there been since they introduced the shift to Unicode? Don't quote me, but I really don't think they've had too many at all, so instead of crying wolf that CCP is "ignoring" Tranquility, lets look at the big picture.
There will be problems initially with anything. CCP isn't Sony or EA Games, they don't have a bajillion gremlins working for them. Once they work out the problems, which they will because they are dedicated to thier creation, they will have a much, much easier time deploying patches on both Tranquility and Serenity. Once they've ironed out most of the bugs, there is the chance for double the money they make. And since they only have one main Developer team that does the core design to EVE, and then I'm assuming has a China division that translates the newest changes to Chinese for Serenity, only having a single team, they still only have to fork out a single round of paycheques.
I've never wavered from the fact that once CCP can iron out the major bugs with deploying a patch between two different servers and databases, it will be a huge boon to CCP. Extra money = extra Devs = faster development cycles = faster expansions and patches, and bug fixes. Hell, maybe that extra cash they'll hire more GM's so that there isn't such a delay behind answering petitions.
Oh wait, I'm sure the obvious fact is that since Serenity is there, all the GMs are busy answering petitions from Serenity right? They all speak Chinese. They're obviously ignoring Tranquility.
It all comes down to language. Artists and graphics designers do not speak the code required to fix bugs. Core programmers don't likely speak Chinese, and can only work on the base coding that can be translated into the Tranquility and Serenity clients.
Stop *****ing. If CCP botches this, then obviously we can harp at them all we want. But given time, CCP will work these problems out. Then we can get more patches and bug fixes.
And Oveur can get more bree!
I'm sure most people realize that there was a time in the past when Tranquility was no where near being able to handle 30k players...let alone 20,000...but looky looky, CCP upgraded the servers and fixed the major lag that was being caused when there was only 15-20k players logged in...
But ****, they're obviously ignoring the lag that's around now when 25-30k people are on Tranquility right? RIGHT?!??!!

You don't program in English or Chinese. The Dragon code could have been rolled out on Tranquility at the same time as Serenity. Of course, the developers told us that they wanted to get some extra time to test it or something. Some good that did, huh?
