I have not read this entire thread so if someone said this already then I'm sorry but if this guy is Amarr and looking to RP you should look into CVA
https://gate.eveonline.com/Alliance/Curatores%20Veritatis%20Alliance
I know they are not has hard core as they used to be but I think that they are still pretty serious into their RP. You may want to look into this and see if it is up your ally. |

Another thing is the skin coloration variance is quite extreme in the character maker. As Im trying to learn what is the norm, I examined all of the NPC's in the game through the NPC corps. All Khanid are light skinned. My character's whole family is BLACK AS BLACK can get. I thought that's what they meant by Dark Amarr, and I liked how it looked, alot. But I have yet to see a Khanid or Amarr, even player character, with skin on the darkest end of the spectrum. But it's a choice available.
I thought maybe I could explain it by saying her family had their genes manipulated a long time ago to melanize the skin to make their survivailty in space pre-capsule/clone tech more likely. UV rays and such....but I'd like to hear some perspective on this.
I don't know. First world problems.
Don't be ashamed that one of your progenitors got busy with a Matar slave. That's self hatred.
Seriously though if you are thin skinned this is not the game for you and especially not an RPer and especially especally not an Amarr RPer. Your race enslaved the Minmatar. Just the fact that you are Amarr will bring down upon your head extreeme hatred from all the Minmatar RPers. Some people play this game just to play the role of the bad guy and run around and try to pretend that they are some bad ass hard core nasty pirate and then hate on what they call RPers. This is an RPG we all role play some people just haven't made peace with it.

Also I do find a mindset that advocates that people "stick within their own group" rather questionable. If you have an issue with something, sometimes the issue is with you and not the other side.
Yes it's kind of how most if not all homophobes are closet homosexuals. Hate and love are two sides of the same coin. If one is truly happy with their position on an given topic they would be accepting of the other side. All hatred at it's root is self hatred but now I'm getting outside the game and into philosophy.

Actually, I have met quite a few roleplayers who did A LOT of harm, most extremely so when an ERP roleplayer started stalking and harassing a woman player in real life. Like with all things, there are gradations, from harmless to very much not so and from amusing to hideously annoying.
uhhh..... That's not role playing that is real life. We don't put actors in jail for playing a serial killer in a movie but we do put people in jail if they actually go out and kill people. I want to avoid going into the real life consequences of long term getting into the mindset of someone truly evil but there is a difference between in game and out of game. Role playing is something that people "pretend" in game and in character. When you take it out of game and out of character we call it criminal.
You seem to be having difficulty grasping the concept of these boundaries or the fact that almost everyone RPs even if they don't play RPGs. You act one way at work and another way around your family and a different way around someone you are trying to impress to get into their pants. I don't think in my life I have ever met someone truly genuine 100% of the time. When I go to work I put on a uniform and have to fulfill a "role" and make my customers have some confidence in my ability to solve their problems. Some people play the role of a faithful spouse while they are actually getting some action on the DL. When you were growing up your parents played the role of parents when they were around you and a guarantee that they were totally different people when they were not around you but in adult situations. |
